First, we consider a simplified model at zero temperature, where the parity of the non-local fermionic state formed by Majorana bound states (MBSs) localized on the junction is fixed, and show that a transition from insulating to conducting state in this case is governed by single-quasiparticle tunneling rather than by Cooper pair tunneling in contrast to a non-topological Josephson junction. This results in a significantly lower critical current for the transition from insulating to conducting state. We propose that, if the length of the system is finite, the transition from insulating to conducting state occurs at exponentially higher bias current due to hybridization of the states with different parities as a result of the overlap of MBSs localized on the junction and at the edges of the topological nanowire forming the junction. Finally, we discuss how the appearance of MBSs can be established experimentally by measuring the critical current for an insulating regime at different values of the applied magnetic field.","PeriodicalId":8514,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: Superconductivity","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90814713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the common wisdom that superconductivity emerges only when CDW is suppressed, we present data from STM and AC susceptibility measurements that show no direct competition between CDW order and superconductivity. Both coexist over most of the intercalation range, with uniform superconductivity over length scales that exceed the superconducting coherence length. This is despite persisting short-range CDW order and increased scattering from the Pd intercalation. While superconductivity is insensitive to local defects in either of the bi-directional CDWs, vestiges of the Fermi-level distortions are observed in the properties of the superconducting state.","PeriodicalId":8514,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: Superconductivity","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90374661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we report transport properties and a dynamical phase diagram at zero magnetic field in ion-gated MoS2. In addition to the universal jump in the current-voltage characteristic showing unambiguous evidence of the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) transition, we observed multiple peaks in the temperature- and current-derivative of the electrical resistance, based on which a dynamical phase diagram in the current-temperature plane was constructed. We found current-induced dynamical states of vortex-antivortex pairs, containing that with the phase slip line. Also, we present a global phase diagram of vortices in gated MoS2 which captures the nature of vortex matter of clean 2D superconductors.","PeriodicalId":8514,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: Superconductivity","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85654825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sharp diamagnetic transition and magneto-optical imaging reveal homogeneity of single crystal and prominent Bean-like penetrations of vortices. Large anisotropy of electrical resistivity, with ${rho _c / rho _{ab}}$ > 100, and semiconductor-like ${rho _c}$ suggest that the electronic state is quasi two-dimensional. Hall effect measurements indicate that KCa${_2}$Fe${_4}$As${_4}$F${_2}$ is a multiband system with holes as main carriers. Magnetization measurements reveal significantly larger J$_c$ compared with that in other iron-based superconductors with different values of J$_c$ depending on the direction of magnetic field. Origin of these J$_c$ characteristics is discussed based on microstructural observations using STEM. In addition, further enhancement of J$_c$ in KCa${_2}$Fe${_4}$As${_4}$F${_2}$ for future application is demonstrated in terms of heavy-ion irradiation.","PeriodicalId":8514,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: Superconductivity","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81108118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We argue that finite temperature effects can be a cause of observed features. Specifically we show that quantum critical magnetic fluctuations under superconducting dome can give rise to a nodal-like temperature dependence of both specific heat and magnetic penetration depth in a fully gaped superconductor. In the presence of line nodes in the superconducting gap fluctuations can lead to the significant renormalization of the relative slope of $T$-linear penetration depth which is steepest at the quantum critical point. The results we obtain are general and can be applied beyond the model we use.","PeriodicalId":8514,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: Superconductivity","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89673216","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We here report the findings of a neutron diffraction experiment on the superconductor (La,Sr)$_2$CuO$_4$, where a spurious signal appeared to be magnetic stripes. The signal strength was found to be strongly dependent on the neutron energy, peaking at $E = 4.6$~meV. We therefore attribute the origin of this signal to be a combination of multiple scattering and crystal twinning. A forward calculation of the scattering intensity including these two effects almost completely recovers our experimental observations. We emphasise the need for employing such analysis when searching for ways to avoid spurious scattering signals.","PeriodicalId":8514,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: Superconductivity","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80858268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, inevitably incorporated excess Fe currently prevents the establishment of the true phase diagram. We overcome the aforementioned significant problem via developing a new annealing method termed as \"Te-annealing\" wherein single crystals are annealed under Te vapor. Specifically, we conducted various magnetotransport measurements on Te-annealed superconducting Fe$_{1+y}$Te$_{1-x}$Se$_{x}$. We observed that crossover from the incoherent to the coherent electronic state and opening of the pseudogap occurs at high temperatures ($approx$ 150 K for $x$ = 0.2). This is accompanied by a more substantial pseudogap and the emergence of a phase with a multi-band nature at lower temperatures (below $approx$ 50 K for $x$ = 0.2) before superconductivity sets in. Based on the results, the third type electronic phase diagram in Fe-based high-$T_c$ superconductors is revealed.","PeriodicalId":8514,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: Superconductivity","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72903489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here we report on muon spin rotation experiments probing the temperature-dependent of effective magnetic penetration depth Lambda_eff(T) in the layered topological superconductor candidate Nb_0.25Bi_2Se_3. The exponential temperature dependence of lambda_(eff)^(-2)(T) at low temperatures suggests a fully gapped superconducting state in the bulk with the superconducting transition temperature T_c = 2.9 K and the gap to T_c ratio 2Delta/k_BT_c = 3.95(19). We also revealed that the ratio T_c/lambda_(eff)^(-2) is comparable to those of unconventional superconductors, which hints at an unconventional pairing mechanism. Furthermore, time reversal symmetry breaking was excluded in the superconducting state with sensitive zero-field muSR experiments. We hope the present results will stimulate theoretical investigations to obtain a microscopic understanding of the relation between superconductivity and the topologically non-trivial electronic structure of Nb_0.25Bi_2Se_3.","PeriodicalId":8514,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: Superconductivity","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85052488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are no anomalies in the structural parameters as well as elastic constants with hydrostatic pressure which is consistent with the experiments. We study the electronic structure of this compound at different external pressures in terms of density of states, band structure and Fermi surface. Density of states at the Fermi level, coming from Fe-d orbitals follows the same trend as that of the superconducting transition temperature (T$_c$) as a function of hydrostatic pressure. We also observe a pressure induced orbital selective Lifshitz transition in ThFeAsN compound which is quite different from the Lifshitz transitions observed in the other families of Fe-based superconductors. Fermi surfaces of ThFeAsN specially hole like Fermi surfaces at $Gamma$ point are altered significantly with pressure. This modification of Fermi surface topology with pressure seems to play the major role in the reduction of T$_c$ with pressure in ThFeAsN superconductor. Spin-orbit coupling does not affect the Lifshitz transition but it modifies the energy ordering of bands near $Gamma$ point at higher pressure.","PeriodicalId":8514,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: Superconductivity","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85268338","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
