For flavour universal charges, couplings of the associated hidden photon to Standard Model fermions are flavour conserving at tree-level. We show explicitly that even the flavour specific charge assignments allowed by anomaly cancellation condition lead to flavour conserving tree-level couplings of the hidden photon to quarks and charged leptons emph{if} the CKM or PMNS matrix can be successfully reconstructed. Further, loop-induced flavour changing couplings are strongly suppressed. As a consequence, the structure of the Majorana mass matrix is constrained and flavour changing tree-level couplings of the hidden photon to neutrino mass eigenstates are identified as a means to distinguish the $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge boson from any other anomaly-free extension of the Standard Model without new chiral fermions. We present a comprehensive analysis of constraints and projections for future searches for a $U(1)_{B-3L_i}$ gauge boson, calculate the reach of resonance searches in $B$ meson decays and comment on the implications for non-standard neutrino interactions.","PeriodicalId":8457,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Phenomenology","volume":"39 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84274185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We find that the theoretical total cross section of heavy quarkonium productions are in good agreement with the data available at HERA, once the $gamma q$, $qg$ and $qq$ subprocesses in the heavy quark pair productions are taken into account. The inclusive diffractive rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of $J/Psi$, $Psi(2S)$ and $Upsilon(1S)$ in $pp$, $pPb$ and $PbPb$ collisions at LHC are also studied by our quark improved NRQCD model combined with the resolved pomeron model. We find that the contributions from the quark involved subprocesses can reach to $8%$ in the rapidity distribution and $6%$ in the transverse momentum distribution. The numerical results show that the contributions from quark involved subprocesses are significant in heavy quarkonium photoprodution.","PeriodicalId":8457,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Phenomenology","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88512465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This model can distinguish two well-known normal and inverted order schemes of neutrino data once both the effective masses $m_{beta}$ in tritium beta decays and $langle mrangle$ in the neutrinoless double beta decay are observed. The lepton flavor violating decays of the charged leptons $e_brightarrow e_agamma$, $murightarrow3e$, the Standard model-like Higgs boson decays $hrightarrow e_be_a$, and the $mu$-e conversions in some nuclei arise from loop corrections. The experimental data of the branching ratio Br$(murightarrow egamma, 3e)$ predicts that the upper bounds of Br$(tau rightarrow mugamma,egamma)$ and Br$(hrightarrow e_{a}e_b)$ are much smaller than the planned experimental sensitivities. In contrast, the $mu$-e conversions are the promising signals for experiments.","PeriodicalId":8457,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Phenomenology","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90028978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The interaction kernel of the $bar{D}_sD^ast/bar{D}^ast_sD$ system is calculated up to the next-to-leading order with the explicit chiral dynamics. With the fitted parameters extracted from the $Z_c(3900)$ data as inputs, the mass, width and event distributions of the $Z_{cs}(3985)$ are very consistent with the experimental measurements. Our studies strongly support the $Z_{cs}(3985)$ as the partner of the $Z_c(3900)$ in the SU(3)$_f$ symmetry and the $bar{D}_sD^ast/bar{D}^ast_sD$ molecular resonance with the same dynamical origin as the other charged heavy quarkoniumlike states. We precisely predict the resonance parameters of the unobserved states in $bar{D}_s^ast D^ast$, $B^ast_s bar{B}/B_sbar{B}^ast$ and $B_s^astbar{B}^ast$ systems, and establish a complete spectrum of the charged charmoniumlike and bottomoniumlike states with the $I(J^P)$ quantum numbers $1(1^+)$ and $frac{1}{2}(1^+)$, respectively.","PeriodicalId":8457,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Phenomenology","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79030285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Analytic functional forms for PDFs cannot be uniquely determined solely based on discrete experimental measurements because of a mathematical property of mimicry of PDF parametrizations that we prove using a representation based on B'ezier curves. Predictions of nonperturbative QCD approaches for the $x$ dependence of PDFs instead should be cast in a form that enables decisive comparisons against experimental measurements. Predictions for effective power laws of $(1-x)$ dependence of PDFs may play this role. Expectations for PDFs in a proton based on quark counting rules are compared against the effective power laws of $(1-x)$ dependence satisfied by CT18 next-to-next-to-leading order parton distributions. We comment on implications for studies of PDFs in a pion, in particular on the comparison of nonperturbative approaches with phenomenological PDFs.","PeriodicalId":8457,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Phenomenology","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76761885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We derive the time dilation between an observer's or particle's proper time, given by a Finslerian length measure induced from a modified dispersion relation, and a reference laboratory time. To do so, the Finsler length measure for general first order perturbations of the general relativistic dispersion relation is constructed explicitly. From this we then derive the time dilation formula for the $kappa$-Poincar'e dispersion relation in several momentum space bases, as well as for modified dispersion relations considered in the context of loop quantum gravity and Hov{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity. Most interestingly we find that the momentum Lorentz factor in the present and future colliders can, in principle, become large enough to constrain the $kappa$-Poincar'e dispersion relation in the bicrossproduct basis with Planck scale sensitivity with help of the muon's lifetime.","PeriodicalId":8457,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Phenomenology","volume":"31 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80750390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the lack of effective methods to reliably describe its low energy dynamics, rare charm decays have been considered as less promising for long. However, this lack does not exclude the possibility to perform promising searches for New Physics per se, but a different philosophy of work is required. Exact or approximate symmetries of the Standard Model allow to construct clean null-test observables, yielding an excellent road to the discovery of New Physics, complementing the existing studies in the down-sector. In this review, we summarise the theoretical and experimental status of rare charm $|Delta c|=|Delta u|=1$ transitions, as well as opportunities for current and future experiments such as LHCb, Belle II, BES III and the FCC-ee. We also use the most recent experimental results to report updated limits on lepton-flavour conserving and lepton-flavour violating Wilson coefficients.","PeriodicalId":8457,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Phenomenology","volume":"44 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90416817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
