We fix the fall-off conditions for gravitini fields in order to fix the asymptotic phase space. Using the Chern-Simons formulation, we then derive the asymptotic symmetry algebra for this theory. The fall-off conditions impose constraints on the phase space which reduces the Chern Simons theory to a WZW model. Further constraints reduce it to a super-Liouville theory at the boundary. This can be treated as a classical dual for the supergravity theory in the bulk.","PeriodicalId":8443,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Theory","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83697441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We use the modified Bonora-Tonin (BT) supervariable approach (MBTSA) to BRST formalism to derive the off-shell nilpotent (anti-)BRST symmetry transformations of the target space variables and the (anti-)BRST invariant Curci-Ferrari (CF)-type restriction for the 1D model of our supersymmetric (SUSY) system. The nilpotent (anti-)BRST symmetry transformations for other variables of our model are derived by using the (anti-)chiral supervariable approach (ACSA) to BRST formalism where the CF-type restriction appears in the proof of (i) the invariance of the coupled (but equivalent) Lagrangians, and (ii) the absolute anticommutativity of the conserved and off-shell nilpotent (anti-)BRST charges. The application of the MBTSA to a physical SUSY system (i.e. 1D model of a massive spinning particle) is a novel result in our present endeavor. The proof of the absolute anticommutativity of the conserved (anti-)BRST charges (within the framework of ACSA) is another very interesting observation in view of the fact that only the (anti-)chiral super expansions of the supervariables have been taken into account.The CF-type restriction is universal in nature as it turns out to be the same for the SUSY and non-SUSY reparameterizaion (i.e. 1D diffeomorphism) invariant theories.","PeriodicalId":8443,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Theory","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77101466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Working in a collisionless regime, we emulate the conformal anomaly via a momentum-dependent electric coupling. In this prescription, the conformal anomaly leads to a hedgehog-like structure in the momentum space similar to the Berry phase associated with the axial anomaly. The interplay between the axial and conformal anomalies generates the axial current, proportional to the helicity flow of the electromagnetic background. The corresponding conductivity is determined by the running of the electric coupling between the tip of the Dirac cone and the Fermi surface.","PeriodicalId":8443,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Theory","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90680424","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We find that there is a de Wit-Freedman like hierarchy of superconnections with simple gauge transformations. The requirement for sensible free equations of motion imposes constraints on the gauge parameter superfields. Unlike the non-supersymmetric case there is no unique way of doing that and thus generating many different but, on-shell equivalent, constrained descriptions of the same physical system. By lifting the constraints non-geometrically we find that all known descriptions of integer and half-integer supermultiplets are produced by the different ways of decoupling higher order superconnections. Also we find that there exist a consistent constrained description of half-integer supermultiplets which can not be lifted to an unconstrained formulation. In the constrained formulation, the various descriptions can be labeled as geometrical or non-geometrical if the equations of motion can be expressed only in terms of superconnections or not.","PeriodicalId":8443,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Theory","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81891768","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article is frequently cited in relation to Haag's theorem and to the issue of the existence of unitarily inequivalent representations of the canonical commutation relations in Quantum Field Theory. Summarizing in brief, it suggests a link between the appearance of divergences in perturbative Quantum Field Theory and the fact that quantum states belonging to an interacting theory do not belong to the same Hilbert space of the free theory. It also suggests that renormalization fails to provide an accurate description of the time evolution of the quantum field, although it correctly accounts for the S matrix. Due to its relevance, and to the difficulty of finding an English translation, the ideas contained in this article are proposed again here, expanded with derivations and accompanied by a discussion aimed at putting the analysis into context. We highlight the main points from the perspective of a contemporary reader, and underline the differences with the standard approach usually taught in curricular courses in Quantum Field Theory.","PeriodicalId":8443,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Theory","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81097893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The construction produces the momentum-dependent correlation functions to all orders through an iterative scheme, based on a self-consistent ansatz for the four-point function. The resulting correlators are bounded at all regulator scales and we determine explicit bounds capturing the asymptotics in the UV and IR limits. Furthermore, the given construction principle may be extended to other systems and might become useful in the study of general properties of exact solutions.","PeriodicalId":8443,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Theory","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89365929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We argue that the analogy between these systems is more than superficial: There is a sense in which a \"UD detector\" in a quantized scalar field effectively acts as a classical source for that field if the splitting of its energy levels is so small as to be ignored. After showing explicitly that a detector with unresolved inner structure does behave as a structureless scalar source, we use that analysis to rederive the scalar version of a previous analysis of the accelerated electromagnetic charge, without appealing to the troublesome concept of \"zero-energy particles.\" Then we recover these results when the detector energy gap is taken to be zero from the beginning. This vindicates the informal terminology \"zero-frequency Rindler modes\" as a shorthand for \"Rindler modes with arbitrarily small energy.\" In an appendix, the mathematical behavior of the normal modes in the limit of small frequency is examined in more detail than before. The vexed (and somewhat ambiguous) question of whether coaccelerating observers detect the acceleration radiation can then be studied on a sound basis.","PeriodicalId":8443,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Theory","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85161181","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The defining property of these sum rules is suppression of the contribution of the double twist operators. Firstly, we apply these sum rules to the Wilson-Fisher model in $d=4-epsilon$ dimensions. We re-derive many of the known results to order $epsilon^4$ and we make new predictions. No assumption of analyticity down to spin $0$ was made. Secondly, we study holographic CFTs. We use dispersive sum rules to obtain tree-level and one-loop anomalous dimensions. Finally, we briefly discuss the contribution of heavy operators to the sum rules in UV complete holographic theories.","PeriodicalId":8443,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Theory","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78228361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
