How does he now come to be on the faculty of a school of architecture? As such, it also acts as a powerful filter (or lens) for managers to make sense of the various management approaches and techniques that their companies employ from time to time. This paper describes, with the help of a case study, how it works. In the process, the various key concepts of the MPSB project are also explained and utilized in the case study.","PeriodicalId":82877,"journal":{"name":"Systems research : the official journal of the International Federation for Systems Research","volume":"193 2","pages":"297-308"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-01-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1002/SRES.3850120410","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50991948","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Respondents indicated the extent to which each of seven ethical considerations would effect their decisions. Four considerations were end-oriented (teleo-logical): rationalist, experientialist, systemicist, transcendentalist, and three means-oriented (deontological): conventionalist, individualist, and legitimist The data suggest that three strong bi-polar factors with opposing teleological with deontological considerations underlie ethical decision styles. Extensions from the research are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":82877,"journal":{"name":"Systems research : the official journal of the International Federation for Systems Research","volume":"81 1","pages":"35-45"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-01-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1002/SRES.3850090404","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50990589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The design of GDSS provides conditions necessary to produce equal participation, but a forum does not ensure equal participation. Reducing group process loss increases the number of comments produced by groups using GDSS. Participants producing more comments did not lead to a uniform distribution of the number of comments. Our study, also, investigated quantity of comments produced by participants with some self-reported measures of participation. We found participation was associated with “talkativeness”.","PeriodicalId":82877,"journal":{"name":"Systems research : the official journal of the International Federation for Systems Research","volume":"11 1","pages":"17-30"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-01-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1002/SRES.3850110403","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50991522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
