From here, the digital religion field develops in various ways. In this book review, several notes can be shared to be used as an assessment before reading. {"title":"Islam in North Sumatra: Study on the Naqsabandiyah Sufi Order in the Malay Langkat Community","authors":"Azhar Azhar, Suryo Adi Sahfutra","doi":"10.37680/adabiya.v17i2.2379","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.37680/adabiya.v17i2.2379","url":null,"abstract":"This research focuses on the development of Islamic Da'wa in the Malay Langkat community, particularly during the early period of Islam developed by Tarekat Naqsabandiyah. Using a social historical approach, this study produced several findings. The historical data regarding the initial entry of Islam indicates two arguments, one originating from Barus and the other from Peurlak. However, the strongest argument for the entry of Islam into Langkat comes from the Aceh Peurlak region. The history of Islamic Da'wa is marked by several events, such as the establishment of the Azizi Grand Mosque, the Masrulah Madrasah, and the Babussalam Besilam Suluk settlement, which has historical connections with the followers of Tarekat Naqsabandiyah in Malaysia. After Indonesia's independence, the social and religious conditions of the community underwent changes. The development of Da'wa was no longer centered on the sultanate, but rather it was spread throughout various areas in Langkat, through institutions, individuals, and religious communities. The development of Tarekat Naqsabandiyah Da'wa can still be found today, as evidenced by the presence of many students at the Babussalam pesantren who come from Malaysia. Manan","doi":"10.22373/adabiya.v24i2.14741","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22373/adabiya.v24i2.14741","url":null,"abstract":"During the Dutch colonial period in Aceh, the social structure of society was reflected in the bureaucratic system of government of the king, ulama, uleebalang, and other bureaucratic apparatus. Of the several rulers in Aceh, the main base in opposing the Dutch were the ulama because the ulama played a very large role in the lives of the Acehnese people. Snouck is a prominent Western scientist and also a very influential actor in breaking the power of the ulama during the Dutch colonial period in Aceh. The results of the study show that Snouck’s points of view on the Acehnese clerics are the ulama as an obstacle to the submission of Aceh's sovereignty to the Dutch, the ulama as a spiritual driving force in defending Aceh and its people and the Acehnese clerics are not easy to be deceived even though they prioritize Islam alone. The roles played by Snouck in quelling the struggle of the Acehnese people, namely approaching the ulama to invite peace with the Dutch, the uleebalang approach to cooperate in the fields of Dutch government, education, economics and religion. Placing trading centers in Ulhee Lheue and Kutaraja so that the Acehnese people can carry out their trade more easily. Based on the pacification policy of the Dutch government and supported by Snouck’s ideas, advised the Governor of the Dutch military that there should be no more violence against the Acehnese people. The aim of this study is to find out the history of rapa’i dabôh in Aceh. The instruments used in this research are observation, interview and documentation. Techniques of data analysis are data reduction, data display and data verification/conclusion. The study revealed that the history of rapa’i dabôh in Aceh was from a prominent ulama named Syekh Abdul Qadir Jailani inherited by Syekh Rafa’i, popularly recognised later as Tarekat Rifa’iyyah. Rapa’i dabôh was early formerly used as media for preaching the Islamic teaching, but later it developed into an art fancied by most the Acehnese people. The spread of rapa’i dabôh was carried by the preachers from north-eastern to southwest-southern part of Aceh, then it inspired many groups of performance such as Rincong Pusaka at Ie Lhop village, Tangan-Tangan, Southwest Aceh and Putra Naga at Mutiara village, Sawang, South Aceh. This study aims to describe the ideological formations contained in the novel Ukhruj Minha Yâ Mal'ûn by Saddam Hussein. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data source of this research is the novel Ukhruj Minha Yâ Mal'ûn by Saddam Hussein. The data of this research are in the form of words, sentences that describe the ideological formation of the hegemony of power. Data collection techniques used reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique uses content analysis. The results of this study include: first, the authoritarianism carried out by Hasqil by using the wife of a tribal chief to rule and influence the Roman chief and tribal leaders to achieve his goals. Second, the ideology of capitalism carried out by Hasqil's figure is by using his wealth so that he can rule and Hasqil also associates with the chiefs of the Roman tribes to dominate the market. The two great powers were led by Sultan Bayazid and Timur Lenk, respectively. The development and power possessed by these two rulers brought them to the point where they competed with each other in spreading political influence. Policies to undermine each other's territory are inevitable. They finally met in the great war in 1402 in Ankara. The war was finally won by Timur Lenk's troops and Sultan Bayazid became a prisoner of war. The paper uses historical methods that focus on literature review to find sources and present research answers. It is necessary to trace existing buildings and other objects from past human cultural works to explain the existence of civilization created from the two periodization of Aceh history. The method used is descriptive analysis. The results of the study describe that the objects produced during the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam experienced development. During the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam, crowds were more directed at the coast so that development in the interior was not so visible, while during the Dutch colonial period construction was carried out in almost all of Aceh, especially in the construction of land roads. It caused by the needs of the government related to the transportation of natural resources in the form of agricultural products produced by the community. In addition, road construction was also carried out to speed up the arrival of news from remote areas to cities and from the city center to the Dutch government in Singapore. The news delivery system is carried out through the post office and telegram. In the library, it was necessary to implement a good strategic management that aims to have a positive impact on improving the quality of library development. This study wants to analyze the strategic management carried out by the Tanah Datar District Public Library using SWOT analysis approach in increasing user satisfaction. The type of research used was qualitative research with a qualitative approach, here the researcher wants to examine more deeply related to the problems studied. The results showed that from the approach used through the SWOT Analysis got obtained for the library where in terms of the strength of the library where the strategic location is in the city center, but in terms of weaknesses seen in terms of collections that are still incomplete, in terms of opportunities, namely supported by regional revenue and expenditure budget funds. which was routine every year, while the challenge was the lack of staff competence in library technology. Furthermore, it was seen from the analysis of user satisfaction seen from the aspect of the service provided is maximal with a friendly and polite attitude, while in terms of the collection it is still incomplete. Ia berhasil menyaingi orang besar yang hidup sezaman dengannya, Marcopolo Al-Bandaqi. Pengembaraannya meliputi seluruh dunia Islam. Dia telah menempuh lebih dari 175 mil, yang dimulai dari Thanjah, tempat kelahirannya, pada saat berusia 28 tahun, pada tahun 1326 M dan berakhir di Fez pada tahun 1353 M. Karyanya yang terkenal dengan judul Hadiah Bagi Para Pemerhati Negeri-negeri Asing dan Pengalaman-pengalaman Ajaib (Tuḥfatun Nuẓẓār fī Gharāʾibil Amṣār wa Ajāʾibil Asfār) yang disusun oleh Ibnu Juzay, namun sering kali hanya disebut Ar-Rihlah Ibnu Batutah. Tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Objek penelitian kepustakaan ini fokus pada studi tokoh Ibnu Batutah sebagai tokoh geografer Muslim terhadap karyanya Ar-Rihlah dengan tujuan untuk menganalisa sosio historis pengembaraanya ke berbagai belahan dunia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan telaah sumber bacaan lainnya yaitu buku-buku teks, ensiklopedi, jurnal, dan lain sebagainya. Hasil kajian ditemukan bahwa naskah ini banyak kita temukan kisah perjalanannya, dan gambaran keyakinannya terhadap hal-hal yang aneh, pencampur adukan berbagai peristiwa, dan perhatiannya yang berlebihan terhadap kekeramatan para wali dan ulama, dan sebagian kepercayaan para pengembara pada setiap zaman. Meskipun demikian, dia banyak menyaksikan berbagai peristiwa, sekaligus mengetahui bagaimana cara menggambarkan apa-apa yang dia lihat, dengan penuh kejelian atau dengan cara yang sederhana. Itulah yang menjadikannya sebagai seorang ahli geografi dan pengembara yang unik dari kalangan bangsa Arab. Dia adalah seorang pengembara yang tujuannya hanya untuk mengembara. Dia injakkan kakinya di tanah yang sama sekali belum dia ketahui dengan perasaan yang tenang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gaya bahasa pada hadis tentang keutamaan bulan Ramadhan Sunan Ibn Majah, mencakup tiga level analisis yaitu level fonologi, level sintaksis, dan level semantik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Data-data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan metode simak dan teknik catat. Adapun metode analisisnya menggunakan metode deskriptif dan komparatif.
