The kinetic parameters of the model were determined based on experimental data in the temperature range of 260–320°C and pressures of 20–30 atm by solving the inverse chemical kinetics problem using a combination of a genetic algorithm and the Levenberg–Marquardt method. It is shown that the reverse water-gas shift reaction under the studied conditions does not reach thermodynamic equilibrium and limits the overall conversion of CO<sub>2</sub>. The analysis of activation energies explains the observed decrease in selectivity towards heavy hydrocarbons in favor of lighter fractions with increasing temperature. Comparing the calculated data (for pure CO<sub>2</sub>) with experimental results obtained when feeding ammonia made it possible to estimate the contribution of amination reactions. It was revealed that in the presence of ammonia, a reduction in the selectivity of methane formation as the main undesirable reaction product is achieved.</p>","PeriodicalId":757,"journal":{"name":"Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry","volume":"99 1","pages":"13 - 21"},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2026-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147336025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"化学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two methods of modification were compared: post-synthesis impregnation of finished granules and in situ incorporation of sodium cations during the hydration stage of the precursor. The resulting adsorbents were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and low-temperature nitrogen adsorption. Their acid-base properties were assessed using a pH-metric method and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). All of the samples obtained consisted of low-temperature modifications, had a specific surface area above 200 m2/g, and were characterized by the presence of small mesopores (2–15 nm). The surface basicity of the alumina samples was found to increase directly with the concentration of introduced sodium, as quantified by the isoionic point pH (pHiip). A strong correlation was observed between the XPS data and the pH-metric method results, confirming the applicability of XPS for evaluating the acid-base characteristics of modified adsorbents. The experimental data on the effect of introducing sodium into alumina on water vapor adsorption were compared with previous results obtained by researchers using various modification methods. The results demonstrated that dynamic water vapor adsorption capacity is influenced by the characteristics of Al2O3 and the method of sodium introduction. The most effective method for modifying aluminum oxide is introducing it at the hydration stage during synthesis. The process can be implemented in reactors with energy recovery with separate supply of reagents. The entire process in the reactor can be divided into two zones: the fuel pyrolysis zone and the hydrogen partial oxidation zone. The fuel pyrolysis occurs due to the use of heat from partial oxidation of the fuel pyrolysis products. The target product is hydrogen, and also contains solid carbon as a product (no CO2 emissions). The mass-energy balance of the process is calculated. The products analysis is carried out under conditions of thermodynamic equilibrium. In this work, the contribution of acid sites of different nature and strength to the activity of aluminum oxide-based catalysts in the dehydration reaction of 1- and 2-phenylethanols occurring in the presence of excess water in the temperature range of 230-300°C is compared. It was found that over the entire studied temperature range: the rate of intramolecular dehydration of the primary alcohol is significantly lower than the rate of dehydration of the secondary alcohol; the dehydrating activity of the catalysts with respect to both alcohols is determined primarily by acid sites of the LAS I and LAS II types; the temperature of manifestation of the dehydrating activity of LAS III type sites with respect to the primary alcohol is ~50°C higher compared to the secondary alcohol. The type of kinetic equation for the target reaction is substantiated, the values of the observed rate constants are calculated.
