The authors examined 115 hypertonic patients stage I and II and 95 hypertonic patients stage III according to the WHO classification. They compared the results with a group of 20 subjects, healthy from the clinical and biochemical aspect. The examinations were made by means of an Exhoflow II apparatus of Diagnostic Electronic Corporation, using the method described by Traubner (16). The findings in the control group were normal. In the hypertonic patients stage I and II in 15 (13%) mild, haemodynamically insignificant changes were recorded. In the hypertonics stage III 31 (32.6%) had a pathological finding, incl. 16 patients (16.8%) who had severe stenotic changes, serious from the haemodynamic aspect.</p>","PeriodicalId":75690,"journal":{"name":"Ceskoslovenska neurologie a neurochirurgie","volume":"53 2","pages":"123-9"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"13494141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By means of an algometer and the cuff of a manometer they assessed the threshold of pressure and ischemic pressure pain. They found that in no instance intraoperative experience appeared, the threshold of nociceptive pressure perception was considerably reduced after operation in both groups. The threshold of ischemic pressure pain was significantly reduced only in the group with Hb greater than 150 and Le greater than 8.0, anaesthetized by neuroleptanalgesia. A significant increase of the depressivity (5%) was recorded in the group with combined neuroleptoanalgesia. Dysphoria and emotional indifference increased (5%) in the group with neuroleptanalgesia. Within 2-4 hours after termination of anaesthesia significant consolidation of long-term memory occurred, whereby short-term memory did not display any changes in either group i.e. regardless of the type of anaesthesia. Attention was significantly improved after both types of anaesthesia, but more markedly after neuroleptanalgesia. In the group with combined neuroleptanalgesia sensory and neurasthenic complaints improved (5%). The degree of experienced fear and anxiety in conjunction with the operation as well other psychic parameters before operation were equal in both groups and the groups were thus equivalent. In relation to the plasma cortisol level (degree of preoperative stress) there was a close correlation between the emotional lability on the one hand and maladaptation on the other. The degree of preoperative stress created a close correlation between fear and maladaptation on the one hand and frightening experience on the other.</p>","PeriodicalId":75690,"journal":{"name":"Ceskoslovenska neurologie a neurochirurgie","volume":"53 2","pages":"89-100"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"13494147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specimens of non-concentrated cerebrospinal fluid were examined by two separating methods which use as a vehicle polycryamide gel: isoelectric focusing and a modified electrophoretic technique. By isoelectric focusing an oligoclonal state was proved in 71%, the finding was doubtful in 16.1% and negative in 12.9%. The applied electrophoretic separation revealed an oligoclonal state in 58.1%, the finding was doubtful in 25.8%, negative in 16.1%. In cerebrospinal fluid where isoelectric focusing did not prove an oligoclonal finding, the latter was not detected by electrophoresis either. The method of isoelectric focusing is obviously more sensitive than mere electrophoretic separation. In common practice, it is, however, better to use electrophoresis in vehicles which positively influence the separation process, best in a polyacrylamide gel. Only when the finding is negative or doubtful and there is urgentclinical suspicion, it is suitable to supplement the examination by isoelectric focusing.</p>","PeriodicalId":75690,"journal":{"name":"Ceskoslovenska neurologie a neurochirurgie","volume":"53 1","pages":"22-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"12856538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
