Fourteen (14.3%) discrepant cases were found: three each with the putative father (3.1%) or with the putative mother (3.1%), two with either father or mother (though impossible to determine precisely with whom) (2.0%), and six with both parents (6.1%). Several possible explanations of these findings were considered, such as out-of-wedlock pregnancies, complex known or unknown, declared or undeclared social circumstances frequently related to the population studied (i.e. imminent kidney transplantation) and technical pitfalls. The comparisons were studied in the four dimensions of paternity which have proven clinically and experimentally valid for detection of child abuse and maltreatment. An analysis of the points obtained by fathers of children in private and public schools, as well as the points acquired by Mexican female adolescents were compared with white and black adolescents (in USA), as well as pregnant and non-pregnant ones. The object of the study was to know the point count of Mexican females on the PIAA, and contrast the count with those considered normative and those of pregnant adolescents, who are considered a high risk due to paternal abuse. The results show the Mexican fathers acquire less points with respect to the adolescents, when compared with the respective normative tables. The significance of these facts of low point count is discussed in terms of identifying child abuse and maltreatment in the Mexican child population of different social and economic strata as compared with other risk groups.</p>","PeriodicalId":75554,"journal":{"name":"Archivos de investigacion medica","volume":"21 4","pages":"319-23"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"12834638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their distribution in pancreatic head was 8%, 46% and 46% respectively; whereas in the tail, it was 7%, 35% and 58% respectively. With the purpose to know whether those variations in ZIO-impregnation had some relation with the diet components, 7 groups of 30-day old male rats (n = 5 each) were maintained for 40 days with the following diets: control (C), high-protein (HP), low-protein (hP), high-lipid (HL), low-lipid (hL), high-dextrin (HD) and low-dextrin (hD) diets. Fragments of head and tail were incubated in ZIO mixture, embedded in epoxy resins and cut. Sections were examined unstained under a light microscope. The most striking features in the head were seen with hP, hL and particularly with HD diets. In tail tissue, the most relevant changes were seen with hP, hD and especially with HL diets. It is concluded that there could be a regional acinar cell populations related to preferential production of digestive enzymes in pancreatic head, body and tail, which would need to be further investigated.</p>","PeriodicalId":75554,"journal":{"name":"Archivos de investigacion medica","volume":"21 4","pages":"367-74"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"12890712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
