The patient was initially diagnosed as familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) by a family physician and received pharmacological treatment with a proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 inhibitor (PCSK9i) [1]. The report is instructive on the clinical practice in relation to FH and phenotypically confusing conditions. One of the confusing conditions was a case of hypercholesterolemia combined with hypertriglyceridemia as reported by Patel and Curnew [1]. We would like to add some further comments regarding the collaboration between family physicians and specialists. As the frequency of FH, an inherited disorder associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, is high in the community worldwide, family physicians play a key role in the screening and management of FH [2]. However, for family physicians who diagnose and manage FH patients, it is occasionally difficult clearly distinguish between some FH-like dyslipidemias and definitive FH [3]. In fact, we have also experienced some cases of secondary dyslipidemia with high cholesterol concentrations, like FH, for instance due to hypothyroidism, in which treatment using PCSK9i was attempted by family physicians. To assist in the clinical practice in relation to FH and FH-like dyslipidemias, collaboration between family physicians and specialists should be promoted. Guidelines, including more concrete practice in relation to FH and FH-like dyslipidemias, as well as a policy of collaboration with specialists, would be necessary for family physicians. Consultation systems to increase access to specialists using information and communication technologies, such as telemedicine, the Internet, and electronic record evaluation [4-6], may be arranged in the near future.","PeriodicalId":73805,"journal":{"name":"Journal of lifestyle medicine","volume":"11 2","pages":"94-95"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pub/pmc/oa_pdf/4b/54/jlm-11-2-94.PMC8430315.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"39437731","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article aimed to using effective behavior change strategies are needed to control COVID-19. Social marketing facilitates the acceptance, rejection, modification, abandonment, or maintenance of particular behaviors by groups of individuals, often referred to as the target audience. The six-benchmark criteria for social marketing interventions include Behavior change, Customer research, Audience segmentation Marketing mix, Exchange, Competition. Social marketing can promote healthy behaviors. Perceived benefits of the preventive behaviors can be considered. Besides, media, advertising, and other methods to reach out to the consumers to inform and encourage them should be considered. For this purpose, a slogan and a logo should be designed and installed in all educational interventions and media such as posters, pamphlets, face-to-face training sessions, group discussion sessions, telephone counseling, and videos. Advertising using celebrities covering their faces with masks can persuade people to wear face mask. To promote health behaviors, professionals should pay attention to the segmentation of the target audience before providing any service. All plans should be piloted before implementation. Alteration of the metabolic pathway has been proposed as the hallmark of cancer and explains the distinction between normal and cancer cells concerning nutrient utilization. Changes in the metabolism of nutrients such as glucose, amino acid, and fatty acid are associated with cancer risk. Luckily, this can be controlled with lifestyle modifications. Improvements in lifestyle behaviors to reduce cancer risks include a healthy diet, calorie restriction, and regular physical activity.
