Participants undergoing evaluation for lung cancer (cases) and with benign pulmonary nodules (controls) underwent Positron Emission Tomography/ Computerized Tomography (PET/CT) scans. Specialized software reconstructed and labeled brain images. A computer vision AI model was developed using EfficientNet B0 through transfer learning, complemented by multivariate discriminant analysis. A total of 84 cases were recruited into the study. The constructed AI model exhibited robust accuracy (internal accuracy=1.0, external sensitivity=0.83) on a subset of cases (52 lung cancer patients, 22 controls). Notably, the right frontal lobe emerged as a crucial discriminator, displaying a 5% reduction in the ratio of frontal lobe to brainstem activity in lung cancer cases (Wilk’s Lambda=0.877, P=0.002). Based solely on PET/CT brain imaging data, our AI model accurately classified lung cancer patients. The distinct role of the right frontal lobe in this study underscores the broader significance, shedding light on brain function disparities at lung cancer diagnosis.","PeriodicalId":73634,"journal":{"name":"Journal of cancer science and clinical therapeutics","volume":"57 68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135505501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the results of such screens are often made available only as raw data, which is intractable for researchers without informatics skills, or as highly processed summary statistics, which can lack essential information for translating screening results into clinically meaningful discoveries. To improve the usability of these datasets, we developed Simplicity, a robust and user-friendly web interface for visualizing, exploring, and summarizing raw and processed data from high- throughput drug screens. Importantly, Simplicity allows for easy recalculation of summary statistics at user-defined drug concentrations. This allows Simplicity's outputs to be used with methods that rely on statistics being calculated at clinically relevant doses. They developed cancer after being exposed to arsenic for a long time. Among women, breast cancer is a rapidly expanding health problem in the modern era. Arsenic exposure leads to hormonal imbalance and breast cancer in the exposed population. Blood samples from n=203 breast cancer study participants and n=100 control female individuals were taken for analysis of complete blood count in this present research. The study reveals that there is significant elevation in the WBC counts and decrease in the RBC counts, platelets counts and haemoglobin percentage in the breast cancer patients. Out of n=203, female breast cancer patients, n=174 subject’s blood had significant changes in the haematological parameters in comparison to the control patient’s blood samples. Women who have been exposed to arsenic for an extended period of time in the state of Bihar have hormonal imbalances in their bodies as a result of the poisoning. In the present study, there was significant decrease (p<0.05) in the RBC counts in 92% of breast cancer patients in comparison to the control patients. Moreover, RBC indices were significantly fluctuated (p<0.05) in PCV%, MCV, MCH and MCHC levels in breast cancer patients in comparison to the control patients. The haemoglobin percentage in 94% in breast cancer patients had significant less levels (p<0.05) in comparison to the control patients. Finally, there was significant increase (p<0.05) in the WBC counts in 85% of the breast cancer patients in comparison to the control patients. This denotes that there haemotological parameters are highly affected. Moreover, these breast cancer patients were from the arsenic hotspot areas, where in the recent times the breast cancer disease burden has increased many folds. Hence, there is need to make strategies to control the disease burden in these arsenic hotspot regions.","PeriodicalId":73634,"journal":{"name":"Journal of cancer science and clinical therapeutics","volume":"141 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135101367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
