However, the inherent characteristics of blockchain hinder decentralized finance (DeFi) from accessing necessary sensitive user data. To address this challenge, we introduce a protocol that both safeguards user privacy and ensures data availability through the incorporation of homomorphic encryption and zero-knowledge-proof techniques in blockchain technology. This novel protocol helps mitigate privacy risks caused by sensitive data leaks while improving the capital efficiency of the DeFi market. Furthermore, we explore the applicability of these privacy-preserving methods in on-chain ecosystems and cross-border financial applications. Our solution contributes to secure, user-centric solutions for DeFi while upholding principles of decentralization and privacy protection.","PeriodicalId":72422,"journal":{"name":"Blockchain in healthcare today","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135612132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Problems arise in scenarios when valid claims are not paid and when fraudulent or inappropriate claims are paid. Hospitals and insurers play critical roles in these cases. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain technologies can play significant roles in addressing the problems associated with medical insurance claims. Some of the ways in which these technologies can help are using AI algorithms to analyze data stored on the blockchain for fraud detection, and leveraging blockchain's transparency to improve the accuracy of AI models by providing access to a larger dataset. Today, through the blockchain infrastructure and its tokenization applications, we are able to leverage healthcare data effectively into more efficient business processes. In addition, we can secure better patient engagement and outcomes, while generating new revenue streams for an array of healthcare stakeholders. It is in the application of blockchain technology to compile these stockpiled data into new, compliant business models that we can reap the full potential of the blockchain. The rationale for choosing blockchain is to secure the transaction of health data and protect these data from manipulated fraudulent movement and corruption by a contributor to the chain, or any individual. Our approach uses technology that provides an efficient surveillance measure, including transparency of records, immunity from fraud, and protection from tampering, as well as sustaining the order of data. For medical research, the results here provide a genetic-based hashing algorithm for data security, which has lower computational complexity, low space coverage, higher security and integrity, and a high avalanche effect. The simulation will show the validity, immunity, and integrity of the data record. The technique modified in this secure decentralized network is a cryptographic hashing algorithm for 512 bits. In this study, a genetic algorithm (GA) is used to generate a key that must be used in the encryption and decryption of medical data. A GA is a metaheuristic approach inspired by the laws of genetics; and it is generally used to generate high-quality solutions for complex problems. Applications of GAs are possible in medical fields, such as radiology, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, surgery, oncology, and radiotherapy in healthcare management.</p>","PeriodicalId":72422,"journal":{"name":"Blockchain in healthcare today","volume":"6 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pub/pmc/oa_pdf/8f/eb/BHTY-6-244.PMC9927621.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"9306895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To address this issue, off-chain storage solutions such as the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) can be utilized. This has led to the emergence of various applications that utilize both blockchain and IPFS. After reviewing a large body of literature utilizing blockchain and IPFS, we found that the coordinated interaction between blockchain and IPFS can help solve many problems and provide many research opportunities. Therefore, this survey paper aims to introduce the interaction mechanism between blockchain and IPFS. We first provide a general overview and comparison of different P2P data networks to help understand why IPFS is suitable as the storage layer for blockchains. Subsequently, we use select applications that leverage blockchain and IPFS to show how the mechanism works and explore new developments in this area. Specifically, we identify research areas and provide a qualitative comparison of these different applications. From the comparison, we derive research goals related to the interaction mechanism between blockchain and IPFS.","PeriodicalId":72422,"journal":{"name":"Blockchain in healthcare today","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73017208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
