Although social distancing is less harmful than quarantine, both have the potential to alter lifestyle, cause fear, financial distress and uncertainty. The objective of this study was to determine the cohesion and adaptability of the patient's family during the pandemic of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Methods: During the last quarter of 2020, we conducted a survey using the Google Forms platform using the FACES III questionnaire applied to families of patients on the UANL campus which has a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.7%. Results: this study included 99 patients. Most of family patients with COVID-19 were a nuclear family (72.4), followed by extended families (13.3%) and a single parent (8.2) of which all lived in urban areas. Regarding the severity of COVID-19, 63.3% of the patients had mild symptoms, 20.4% had moderate symptoms, and only 9.2% were asymptomatic. In general, they had high cohesion and adaptability. For the cohesion class, the mean tendency was linked / clumped and adaptability was chaotic / flexible; however, we did not find any relationship between family class-severity of the disease and family cohesion or adaptability. We observe a greater tendency towards the type of family with high cohesion and adaptability, being by cohesion related and agglutinated, and by adaptability, flexible and chaotic, however, we did not find any association between the family type by kinship and the severity of the COVID-19 disease with the adaptability and cohesion of the family. The role of the family doctor in family support and the application of family interventions from the diagnosis of the disease, the follow-up, the recovery, and later is important, given the enormous psychosocial impact that the disease entails and the degree of stress and anxiety involved, as well as the relationship that the disease has on rearrangements in family dynamics and functionality.","PeriodicalId":72085,"journal":{"name":"Advances in clinical and medical research (Chandigarh, India)","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49187730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The spectrum of disease ranges from influenza like illness to fever, cough, fatigue, sputum production and shortness of breath. Early intervention with chest physiotherapy can prevent the need for intubation in COVID-19 patients with respiratory distress. Seven cases from ICU and Eight cases from the Isolation ward were selected for current study. All cases were RT-PCR positive. The patients were assessed for the SPO2 levels, Level of dyspnea, Anxiety and depression levels by Hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS) pre intervention and post intervention. After the physiotherapy sessions, it was observed that the recovery is speeded and the patients anxiety and depression levels also decreased with increase in self-esteem and confidence in these cases. . As we know that the COVID-19 cases suffer from dyspnea, reduced rate and depth of respiration, weakness, anxiety and depression which can increase the risk of mortality. by designing individualized treatment protocols for a better outcome. The SARS-CoV-2 cases (N=15) were selected from ICU and Isolation ward following a recommendation for physiotherapy by senior physicians from Level 3 COVID hospital in Uttar Pradesh, India. Both males (N=13) and females (N=2) cases were selected for the study. An informed consent was taken from these subjects. Seven cases from ICU and eight cases from Isolation ward were selected for this study. All 15 cases were RT-PCR positive. The cases were assessed for the SPO2 levels, Level of dyspnea, anxiety and depression Early physiotherapeutic interventions in the form of NPF, PNF, ACBT, Accupressure, Aerobic activities improved the respiratory health along with reduction in anxiety and depression may result in good outcome in these cases. Early Physiotherapy when given regularly can avoid the need for mechanical ventilation, thus can prevent mortality in COVID-19 patients. Hence, early interventional physiotherapy can be incorporated in the scheduled treatment protocols of COVID-19 patients globally.","PeriodicalId":72085,"journal":{"name":"Advances in clinical and medical research (Chandigarh, India)","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47059483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aging is an irreversible, decreasing process of gradual losses and transformations at the biological, psychological, and social levels. Objective: To know the most stressful life events and compare their frequency and impact on older adults in a Family Medicine Unit. Method: A cross-sectional, descriptive, and prospective study, survey type; in 200 people over 60 years at primary care was done. Holmes and Rahe's scale measuring the impact of life events of the last year with 42 reagents according to the intensity of the event was applied. The assessment was made in SPSS version 25 for Windows. Items were added and when it was higher than 150 it was considered that it may affect the family or health status. A significance of p <0.05 was used. Results: Older adults experienced 4.2 life events per year, with a minimum of one and a maximum of 10. The most frequent crisis was the illness of a close relative; the most stressful was the death of the spouse and the least stressful the vacation period. The minimum value given to an event was 35. The minimum given by Holmes and Rahe was 10. The maximum value of both was 100. to change, so these crises can be both positive and negative for life. A person can be in more than one stressful situation at the same time. The stressful life events described by them are exposed on the scale, ranging from number 1 with a score of 100 to 42 with a minimum score of 10. [7,18,19]. Given that each culture the score can be modified by the assessment of stress, and that the impact of life Conclusions: The intensity with which older adults in Mexico experience life events is higher than that described by Holmes and Rahe. The impact is also quantified differently. The average score was high and it can affect the health of elderly adults and the family.","PeriodicalId":72085,"journal":{"name":"Advances in clinical and medical research (Chandigarh, India)","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45109303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was then officially declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization on 11 March 2020. This paper assesses the existing facts concerning to immune-nutrition, with a specific focus on respiratory viruses. In the nutrition segment, a promising body of facts exploring inter-relationships between certain nutrients and immune capability already occurs. This could possibly be crucial in assisting the body to cope with the corona virus, particularly among the elderly. Facts for vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc and their functions in preventing pneumonia and respiratory infections (vitamins C and D) and strengthening immunity (zinc) seems predominantly promising. One recent review recognized that arrange of micro nutrients are essential to meet the complex requirements of the immune system, including vitamins A, D, C, E, B6, B12, folate, copper, iron, zinc and selenium, with numerous of these having likely synergistic associations. Nevertheless, it was reckoned that the major body of evidence linked to immune function occurred for vitamin C, D and zinc [1].","PeriodicalId":72085,"journal":{"name":"Advances in clinical and medical research (Chandigarh, India)","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49287663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A plethora of scientific findings identify African Americans as having the highest rates of CVD in comparison to other racial/ethnic groups in the United Sates. Associated with a wide range of congenital and chronic cardiac disorders, rib notching is a pathognomonic notches were not included in the data. Results : From the 53 individuals that were identified as having rib notching, 44 of them were due to cardiovascular ailments while the others were due to pathologies that could potentially lead to hypertension if left untreated. Males were more likely to have rib notching when compared to their female counterparts. Conclusion : From the results of this study, a strong link is observed between CVD and rib notching. This makes rib notching assessment a useful diagnostic tool for historical skeletal samples or for confirming previous diagnoses of CVD. This study also provides a major improvement to our understanding of CVD in historical African American populations. The historical context of diseases now rampant in the African American community can inform clinicians in their efforts to develop precision interventions designed to treat CVD in this vulnerable population.","PeriodicalId":72085,"journal":{"name":"Advances in clinical and medical research (Chandigarh, India)","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46676690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
