Muhammad","doi":"10.31024/apj.2020.5.3.2","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31024/apj.2020.5.3.2","url":null,"abstract":"Objective: Aim of present study synergistic antibacterial effect of and Mormodica charantia, Ocimum sanctum Prosopis juliflora. Material and methods: Aqueous and methanol extracts of leaves of three important medicinal plant species, and has been tested individually and in Mormodica charantia, Ocimum sanctum Prosopis juliflora combination for their antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, using agar well diffusion method. Results and conclusion: Results showed higher antibacterial activity in combination of extracts of the medicinal plants studied. The methanolic leaf extracts of and aqueous leaf extracts of showed 2.1 and P. juliflora M. charantia 1.9 cm zone of inhibition (ZI), respectively against and while tested individually. Whereas, the S. aureus S. pyogens combination of methanolic leaf extracts of and M. charantia P. juliflora M. charantia O. Sanctum showed 2.3 cm ZI against respectively. Similarly, the highest antibacterial activity of 2.5 cm S. aureus and S. Pyogens ZI was observed against in combination of methanolic leaf extracts (2:1:1) of all the three plants. This S. Jain","doi":"10.31024/apj.2019.4.4.2","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31024/apj.2019.4.4.2","url":null,"abstract":"The most common respiratory disease is asthma and it is the chronic condition, tedious to cure. 17-18 million people in United States are being affected by Asthma and in the last 20 years it is found to be increased about 75 %. As per the current status of asthma patients about 1 out of 13 children and 1 out of 20 adults are suffering from Asthma. It has been found that since 1980 number of cases of Asthma was increased for the children under the age of 5 years this alarming fact cannot be ignored. Children in school age 75% has captured by Asthma. 15-20 million asthmatic patients are estimated only in India. Data of death because of Asthma from developed countries reveals that the rate varies from 0.2-0.8 per 100,000 persons aged 6-35 (Nichols and Longworth, 1995). Symptomatic relief is pointing requirement for curing the attack of asthma by Ayurveda, Unani and traditional system.
