The SCIG stator terminals are connected to electric grid before the inductive filter using an AC/DC/AC power converter topology, called back-to-back, while the rotor terminals are short circuited, so that the SCIG’s active and reactive power control techniques are presented. The control of grid side converter (GSC) is presented, responsible for the power control and also for keeping the DC bus voltage constant. The control of induction generator side converter (IGSC) is presented also, in which vector control is used in rotor variables, so that the SCIG is controlled through the torque references and magnetizing current. The studied system was mathematically modeled and simulated using Matlab/Simulink software.","PeriodicalId":69617,"journal":{"name":"电力电子","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83283694","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main lines of research is on voltage modulation techniques and its influence on the converter performance. Specifically for a relatively high number of submodules (SMs) that may depend on the specific application type. In this paper, a brief overview of the MMC basic operation is presented and the modulation techniques based on switching frequency as the main parameter are studied. Also, three different modulation techniques are studied to later be performed in Matlab/Simulink, in simulation is considering two cases of MMC systems with 5 and 20 SMs/arm, in order to comparing the impact of modulation technique on MMC performance.","PeriodicalId":69617,"journal":{"name":"电力电子","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90616933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This flux control is associated with a scalar drive (V/f), being a native sensorless technique, without a special approach. Moreover, the applied strategy has low computational cost and can operate at very reduced speeds, tracking references and rejecting disturbances. The focused application is direct-drive washing machines. Experimental results are presented, including a very low-speed test. The main contribution of this paper is related to the control design.","PeriodicalId":69617,"journal":{"name":"电力电子","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88831983","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed procedure captures in a single state-space model a grid-interface converter with an output L filter, a grid-forming converter with an output LC filter and DC capacitor. This approach deals with a modern multivariable linear quadratic regulator control strategy for taking full advantage of the unified model. A full state-feedback controller has been designed for control the grid-interface converter input currents, grid-forming converter output voltages and DC-bus voltage behavior. Resonant controllers are also proposed to reject the current harmonic disturbance drawn by nonlinear loads. The controllers are designed and tested in PSIM, then simulation results are show to verify the proposed control strategy.","PeriodicalId":69617,"journal":{"name":"电力电子","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81366209","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For high performance drives, maximum torque per Ampère (MTPA) is employed to optimally balance the contribution of mutual and reluctance torque. However, conventionally the MTPA algorithm considers IPMSM with sinusoidal back-electromotive forces (back-EMFs). In practice, IPMSM often presents back-EMF waveforms that deviate from ideal sinusoid, exhibiting harmonic components. Thus, this paper presents a new algorithm for MTPA operation of IPMSM with non-sinusoidal back-EMF that includes the contribution of harmonic back-EMF components in average torque production. For the test machine the proposed optimal stator current provides approximately 2% higher average torque per Ampère ratio compared to the conventional MTPA. Due to the increase of torque undulations, this method is more suitable for applications non sensitive to torque ripple.","PeriodicalId":69617,"journal":{"name":"电力电子","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78628940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The controller based on robust pole placement is designed taking into account that the BTB converter deals with bidirectional power flow and uncertainties related to grid equivalent resistance and inductance at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC). Non-linear and linearized models for the BTB converter along with the design of a state feedback control are presented in a state-space formulation. A BTB-VSC system is assembled and tested in a digital environment. Results for simulations performed are presented showing that the controller can meet desired performance requirements for bidirectional power flow and for different grid equivalent impedance values. Therefore, the possibility to use the current margin of photovoltaic (PV) systems to provide harmonic current compensation have been addressed in several works. In this context, an important point is to ensure that the PV inverter current does not extrapolate its rated current peak. For this purpose, dynamic current saturation techniques are adopted, incorporating the partial harmonic current compensation capability in PV inverters. Thereby, this work proposes to implement the partial harmonic current compensation applied to multiple PV inverters using a dynamic saturation technique based on an open-loop algorithm. Furthermore, a radial distribution line is used to analyze the effects of harmonic compensation sharing among PV inverters under different solar irradiance conditions. The current margin of PV systems are combined to compensate nonlinear load currents in the line. Simulation results show the improvements in the grid power quality, ensuring a total demand distortion (TDD) lower than 5%, as recommended by the IEEE Std 519-2014.","PeriodicalId":69617,"journal":{"name":"电力电子","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86030709","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the direct power control strategy has been improved by replacing the bang-bang power controller with a space vector pulse width modulation technique, providing a faster speed response and faster power transfer. A different method for estimating the power is also developed to provide easier implementation. To analyze its performance, the developed strategy was compared to the direct power control with bang-bang controller and the direct torque control. Speed, torque and power were measured and analyzed with simulations in the Matlab/Simulink environment.","PeriodicalId":69617,"journal":{"name":"电力电子","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87306650","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
