It is important to develop an analytical method for monitoring product quality. The main objective of this work is to develop an alternative method and evaluate the analytical performance of visible spectrophotometry for determining free chlorine in disinfectant products based on the Prussian blue decomposition process. The capability of chlorine to oxidize ferrous to ferric ions makes the Prussian blue generated by ferrosulfate and potassium ferricyanide is decomposed and measured by spectrophotometer. The formation of Prussian blue was improved by optimizing some reaction conditions and assessing incubation time. Linearity, analytical concentration range, precision, accuracy, detection limit, and quantitation limit parameters were among the examined analytical parameters. The results showed that the optimum concentration of ferrosulfate, potassium ferysianide, and hydrochloric acid for Prussian blue formation was 2.0 mmol L-1, 3.0 mmol L-1, and 0.5 mol L-1, respectively, with 15 minutes incubation time after chlorine addition. Analytical performance parameters seemed appropriate for routine analysis purposes. Dimana tingkat Pengetahuan diukur menggunakan Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ-24) dan tingkat manajemen diri diukur menggunakan Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Puskesmas I Purwokerto Timur dan pengambilan data menggunakan teknik Accidental Sampling. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 35. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap tenaga kefarmasian dalam mencegah obat rusak dan kadaluarsa di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Tora Belo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian non-eksperimental dengan pengambilan data secara cross sectional. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil kuesioner yang telah diisi oleh tenaga kefarmasian di RSUD Tora Belo. Analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis korelasi menggunakan uji Spearman-Rho, untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap tenaga kefarmasian dalam mencegah obat rusak dan kadaluarsa. Jumlah sampel adalah 33 orang yang diambil secara total sampling. Waktu pengambilan data penelitian selama bulan Mei-Oktober 2020. Pada saat yang bersamaan, apoteker juga diharapkan dapat memberikan konsultasi kepada pasien dan memantau setiap masalah yang mungkin terjadi selama penggunaan obat, yang disebut dengan masalah terkait obat (Medication error). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran pelayanan swamedikasi oleh apoteker di kota palu berdasarkan kategori penggalian informasi, pemilihan obat dan informasi obat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif bersifat cross sectional dan metode pengambilan sampel adalah Purposive sampling. Kriteria responden yaitu apoteker yang memiliki SIPA aktif dan berpraktek di apotek serta bersedia menandatangani lembar Informed consent. Berdasarkan kriteria tersebut, diperoleh 86 sampel apoteker dalam apotek yang berada di Kota Palu. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan kuesioner dalam bentuk Google Form yang telah dilakukan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas serta data yang diperolehdievaluasi secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa apoteker dalam apotek di kota palu sudah melaksanakan pelayanan swamedikasi untuk penggalian informasi sebesar 83,60%, pemilihan obat sebesar 95,35% dan pemberian informasi obat sebesar 89,66%. Phytochemical screening of Mirabilis jalapa L. flower showed flavonoid content which is known to have anti-inflammatory activity. This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of Mirabilis jalapa L. flower infusion using the red blood cell membrane stabilization method by inducing hypotonicity and heat. The test group consisted of Mirabilis jalapa L. flower infusion with a concentration of 2.5%; 5%; and 10% w / v, positive control (diclofenac sodium 0.01% w / v and aspirin 0.01% w / v), and negative control (distilled water). The anti-inflammatory activity of Mirabilis jalapa L. flower infusion was determined by the percentage of membrane stabilization and inhibition of red blood cell hemolysis. Data from the test results were statistically analyzed both parametric and nonparametric with SPSS. Mirabilis jalapa L. flower infusion contains flavonoids, tannins and terpenoids. The test results showed that the 10% concentration of Mirabilis jalapa L. flower infusion had the largest percentage of red blood cell hemolysis protection on hypotonicity induction, that is 99.50% (p>0.05) and the largest percentage of hemolysis inhibition on heat induction, that is 50.27% ( p≤0.05). Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk menentukan formula optimum sediaan lotion ekstrak daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) dengan variasi setil alkohol dan gliserin serta menentukan sifat fisik formula optimumnya. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan yaitu maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Nilai rendemen yang diperoleh yaitu 17,64%. Hasil skrining flavonoid menunjukkan hasil positif yang ditandai dengan terjadinya perubahan warna larutan menjadi merah. Optimasi formula dilakukan dengan metode Simplex Lattice Design yang diolah menggunakan software Design Expert dan sediaan lotion diformulasi dengan meleburkan bahan fase minyak (asam stearat, setil alkohol, propil paraben) dan fase air (trietanolamin, gliserin, metil paraben, aquades) secara terpisah pada suhu 70-75oC kemudian disatukan dan diaduk hingga homogen. Dari software tersebut diperoleh formula optimum dengan konsentrasi setil alkohol dan gliserin masing-masing sebesar 3,93% dan 13,07%. The purpose of this research was to observe the ability of ethanol extract of green tea as a natural iron chelating agent in animal iron overload model. Ethanol extract of green tea leave (GTLE) was prepared by maceration using 70% ethanol. Sprague-Dawley male rats were divided into three groups (5 rats each), a normal control group (group I) received daily p.o. of deionized water, the iron overload group received 100 g/Kg BW (group II) of GTLE that given two hours before ferroussulfate0.5 g/Kg BW administrations and the last group (group III) received only 0.5 g/Kg BW of ferrous sulfate. GTLE and ferrous sulfate were given orally every day for 30 days. At the end of the experimental period, rat blood serum samples were collected. Iron content and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels were measured using a spectrophotometer followed by observing the histologic preparation of rat liver organ. Alternatif penghantaran sediaan vaksin yaitu melalui transdermal. Penghantaran vaksin melalui transdermal memiliki respon proteksi imun yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan penghantaran melalui injeksi secara subkutan ataupun intramuskular. Dissolving Microneedle (DMN) merupakan sistem penghantaran transdermal yang banyak memiliki keunggulan. DMN telah berhasil menghantarkan sejumlah makromolekul seperti vaksin, insulin, eritropoietin, interferon-α, hormon pertumbuhan, dan heparin. Penggunaan vaksin mandiri dapat menjadi lebih hemat karena mengurangi limbah benda tajam, dan tidak memerlukan penyimpanan suhu rendah. One species of Smilax that has not been studied and only grew in Indonesia is Smilax macrocarpa Blume (canar susu). Therefore, a preliminary study of phytochemicals and biological activities is required to encourage progress and novelty in science and to know its phylogenetics in Indonesia's biodiversity. The research was done by extraction method using maceration with methanol as a solvent. Simplicia characteristic, toxicity test with BSLT method, phytochemical screening according to Harborne method, and antibacterial activity test using microdilution against including Escherihia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus epidermidis were performed to leaf extract of canar susu. The results obtained that methanol extract of canar susu leaves contains alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, tannins, terpenoids, saponins, and glycosides. Water content, ash content, acid-soluble ash content, water sari content, and alcohol sari concentration 8.74%; 3.60%; 0.11%; 19.01% and 5.40% respectively. Toxicity results obtained LC50 680.07 ppm. Antibacterial activity test against E. coli has MIC 625 ppm, whereas in P. aeruginosa and S. epidermidis ATCC 12228 are 1.250 ppm. The MBC values for E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and S. epidermidis ATCC 12228 were 5,000 ppm. Based on this result known S. macrocarpa Blume is not potential as antibacterial, but potential as biopesticide according to toxicity result.
