Influences of these grounding methods on the characteristics of single-phase short circuit fault are discussed in this paper on the example of substation “Bugojno”. Modeling and simulation are implemented in EMTP-RV (Electromagnetic Transient Program-Restructured Version) software. Data recorded by protection system during normal operation and three-phase short circuit fault in the substation are analyzed and used for comparison with simulation results to validate developed model of the observed part of power system. Proportional and integral controller is simple, yet with clear physical interpretation. This controller, even when optimally tuned, due to fixed values of parameters might lead to a poor performance of the overall system. One way to resolve this problem is to use gradient descent optimisation of controller parameters, with simple update rules for a real time operation, and with intuitive graphical interpretation. However, gradient descent algorithms have slow convergence and decreased performance when operate in nonstationary and/or nonlinear environment. Learning rate normalisation gives time varying learning rate and minimised a posterior output error. Due to these facts, normalised gradient descent proportional and integral controller for digitally controlled speed servomechanism is presented in this paper. The recommended values of the algorithm parameters, based on convergence analysis, are proposed. The causes of overvoltages are different, but lightning is considered as one of the most serious causes of overvoltages. High voltage substations are one of the main parts of the power system whose faults caused by overvoltages can lead to outage of large part of power system. Therefore, overvoltage protection of a high voltage substation is very important. In order to protect the substation as much as possible from the effects of the overvoltages, it is necessary to implement elements that can help reduce these effects, for example surge arresters. This paper presents the effects of the use of surge arresters in high voltage, gas SF6 insulated substation, modeled in the EMTP-RV (Electromagnetic Transient Program-Restructured Version) software. An accurate representation of lightning surge incoming in the substation is very important because it strongly affects the design of overvoltage protection system. The method is based on three-phase models of distribution network components and the current injection technique. Performances of the method are evaluated on the standard IEEE 13-bus test network. The DHPF method is verified by comparing its results with those generated by the software tool for the analysis of transmission, distribution, and industrial electrical power systems (i.e., DIgSILENT PowerFactory). The SMA alloy that stands out in particular, which is widely used in various industries and which has great potential for application in the maritime industry is the NiTi alloy. The results obtained in this paper by determining the chemical composition Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) of NiTi alloy define its basic functional characteristics. The approach proposed by the authors is based on the use of two-dimensional non-stationary heat conduction equations. A permanent heat source is added to these equations, because heating occurs due to eddy currents. The mathematical model proposed by the authors considers: the geometric parameters of the waveguides, the physical parameters of materials, the initial and boundary conditions, as well as the uneven distribution of the eddy current density in the waveguide. This approach allows you to simulate the brazing process for almost any materials with different geometric parameters used in the aerospace industry. In this work, we simulate the process of induction brazing of pipelines from Alloy 321 stainless steel (UNS S32100). The need to develop a module of the software system is due to: (1) high temperature of the board and the need to withstand the regime; (2) use of duct boxes to create a protective environment; (3) high material costs when developing a new technological process (for example, when brazing a larger pipe).
