The critical frequency data were taken from an ionosonde located at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) in Johor (1.86° N, 103.80° E). The models’ predictive ability for foF2 was investigated under various solar activity and geomagnetic storm circumstances. The developed graphical user interface (GUI) was used to forecast the critical frequency of the ionospheric F2 layer. The forecasted data was then assessed using mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and root-mean-square error (RMSE). The model performs best during high solar activity, with an RMSE of 0.2003 MHz and a MAPE of 4.2263%. Meanwhile, the model also performs best in moderate storms, with an RMSE of 0.3255 MHz and a MAPE of 7.5888%.","PeriodicalId":6762,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th Student Conference on Research and Development (SCOReD)","volume":"18 1","pages":"439-444"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81742036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, the rapid expansion of wind energy technologies and their integration into grids have technically affected the power quality, power system reliability and stability. Power System Stabilizer (PSS) is an efficient device utilized to control the Synchronous Generator (SG) during the disturbance and improve the stability. In this research, the effect of the Squirrel Cage Induction Generator (SGIG) and Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) on the transient stability of the power system was investigated. Furthermore, the transient stability of the power system was enhanced using PSS1A, which is a single-input PSS. The results showed that the PSS1A had effectively enhanced the stability of the studied system where the settling time of the oscillations was reduced.","PeriodicalId":6762,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th Student Conference on Research and Development (SCOReD)","volume":"62 1","pages":"245-250"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83386369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is developed to assist doctors to monitor patient's health conditions with heart failure disease remotely. The monitoring process can be done without having the presence at the hospital especially during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis where the doctor and the caretaker can access the medical record of the patient whenever required. This project employs Arduino Mega as the microcontroller which is interfaced with several sensors as input such as temperature sensor, pulse oximeter sensor and pulse sensor. The patient only needs to place their fingertip on each sensor while the monitoring process is performed to obtain the reading of health data. These data will be sent to the microcontroller to be processed and compared with the threshold value of each sensor. If the data obtained exceeds the threshold value, a notification is sent via Blynk mobile application to notify the doctor or caretaker on the abnormalities of the patient's health condition for further action. ESP8266 Wi-Fi module is used to allow doctor to access and monitor their patient's data from the cloud server using Blynk mobile application. This mobile application displays and notify the health condition of the patient in real time. Besides, the health data also can be exported to Excel for analysis and evaluation. The result obtained from testing the system turned out to be satisfactory in monitoring patient's health condition with an almost accurate reading of health data.","PeriodicalId":6762,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th Student Conference on Research and Development (SCOReD)","volume":"353 1","pages":"96-101"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76472647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tributyrin is one of the triglyceride groups that acts as a liquid fat in the food. In this paper, a study on the functionalized screen-printed electrode (SPE) with graphene (GPH) and gold nanoparticles (GNP) immobilized with lipase is presented. The two-dimensional form of GPH and threedimensional structure of GNP make a suitable surface suitable for the enzyme immobilization. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurement of the GPH/GNP/Lipase/SPE has produced a fine reaction. Tributyrin concentration range from 0.1 mg/ml to 1000 mg/ml were measured and detection limit of 0.1mg/ml was achieved. The current response of the GPH/GNP/Lipase/SPE was proportional to the concentration of the tributyrin taken below 1V point at oxidation peak. These results will make the GPH/GNP/Lipase/SPE a quality bioelectrode especially in the field of triglyceride detection.","PeriodicalId":6762,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th Student Conference on Research and Development (SCOReD)","volume":"39 1","pages":"47-51"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82618063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Optimization for PA is necessary to improve production yield. Friss Transmission Equation is modelled and simulated in MATLAB to determine the relationship of Received Signal Strength Index (RSSI) with the range of transmission. Number of sensor node to be deployed over a plantation area is determined in MATLAB so that Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) can achieve optimum transmission coverage. Computational algorithms such as Conventional Point-to-Point Transmission (CPTPT) protocol, Shortest Distance Cluster Head Selection (SDCHS) protocol and Power Considerations Cluster Head Selection (PCCHS) protocol are also developed in MATLAB. Performance metrics used to evaluate these algorithms include the average transmission range and number of available connectivity paths. Results showed that PCCHS is the best among the three algorithms since it has the shortest average transmission range and least route for connectivity. Three sensor nodes (SNs) and a Data Acquisition Tower (DAT) are designed and fabricated to collect the soil and crops variability data in the farms. Each SN and DAT forms a wireless sensor node which is able to process data, has independent power source and various sensing capability as well as wireless communication system. Concurrently, real time data logging architecture is implemented at each SN. Data transmission protocol is also developed to increase the transmission efficiency, where cluster head is selected based on residual power. Clustering routing protocol constructs the formation of Centralized Clustering Network System (CCNS) which prolongs the Network Lifetime (NL) by approximately 25%.","PeriodicalId":6762,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 19th Student Conference on Research and Development (SCOReD)","volume":"39 1","pages":"460-465"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79147587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
