{"title":"Model Analysis of Upper Digestive Tract Cancer and Environmental Pollution in Huaihe River Watershed","authors":"Yang Gong-huan","doi":"10.3724/sp.j.1047.2012.00432","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3724/sp.j.1047.2012.00432","url":null,"abstract":"The Huaihe River watershed has been suffering from industrial point pollution and other non-point pollution since 1970s.The media has reported the emergence of 'cancer village'.Spatial distribution pattern on upper digestive tract cancer and environmental factors was studied in 14 pilot counties including 5810 villages in Huaihe River watershed.From the multiple perspectives such as watershed and jurisdictional areas,Ordinary Least Squares(OLS) and Robust regression model were used for environmental factors selection.Robust regression model can detect abnormal value and put the weight for each of them.Surface water,phreatic water,river density,soil PAHs,fertilizer,population density and economical density(GDP) were imported into the model.Geographically Weighted Regression(GWR) model was used to locally detect the impact of different environmental factors on Empirical Bayes smoothed upper digestive tract cancer mortality.Through the correlative analysis of them,the risk assessment model of upper digestive tract cancer mortality was developed.Based on the regression coefficient of each environmental factor and statistical test in each pilot,the local main environmental factors were extracted.Even six factors were imported into the global regression model,the impact of each factor was different in distinct areas.In general,all the selected environmental factors show the positive correlation with the upper digestive tract cancer mortality except the surface water quality level and GDP.However the pollution type was diverse in different area based on the regression coefficient of each factor.The main findings were listed as follow: fertilizer amount,soil PAHs,GDP and river density are the main factors in Jiangsu segment in Huaihe River watershed;main factors in Anhui segment included soil PAHs and fertilizer amount;main factors in Henan segment included phreatic water,river density and fertilizer amount,With Shenqiu County,as one of the pilots in Henan,showed the strong positive correlation between surface water and cancer mortality;some kind of environmental risk factors were also detected in Shandong segment,but the result showed no correlation between these risk factors and cancer mortality,which needed to be studied any further.","PeriodicalId":67025,"journal":{"name":"地球信息科学学报","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69762743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Information Extraction of Typical Alteration Mineral Assemblage in Porphyry Copper Using ASTER Satellite Data, Arequipa Province of South Peru","authors":"Liao Zhizhong","doi":"10.3724/sp.j.1047.2012.00411","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3724/sp.j.1047.2012.00411","url":null,"abstract":"In this paper we studied the information extraction technology of alteration mineral assemblages.Using the standard laboratory spectral database of U.S.Geological Survey,we rebuilt the reflectivity curve of key alteration minerals in porphyry copper alteration zones with ASTER data.After comparative analysis of these key alteration minerals spectral curves,we found the characteristic of absorption valley at the spectral 2.2 μm(which is corresponding to the B6 of ASTER data) of the argillic-and phyllic-altered mineral assemblage(which include muscovite,kaolinite,montmorillonite,alunite,illite,etc.),and with the characteristic of high reflection peaks at B4 and B7.The characteristic of absorption valley at the spectral 2.3 μm(which is corresponding to the B8 of ASTER data) of the propylitization altered mineral assemblage(which include chlorite,epidote,calcite,etc.,),and with the characteristic of a high reflection peaks at B4,while the B9 has a higher reflectivity than the B8.Accordingly,the principal component analysis model was developed.This model can make component analysis based on ASTER B1,B4,B6 and B7 to extract the argillic-and phyllic-altered mineral assemblage;component analysis based on ASTER B1,B3,B4 and B8 to extract propylitization altered mineral assemblage.At the same time,the process was established for the alteration mineral assemblage information extraction.Taking porphyry copper region in Arequipa Province of south Peru as an example,based on comprehensive analysis of the geological background of the study area,especially its typical alteration zoning and alteration mineral assemblages in the area,we found a typical porphyry alteration zonation in Arequipa Province.So we can take advantage of the technical processes and methods,and after ASTER data preprocessing,interfering surface features removal,principal component analysis and threshold setting,to extract argillic-and phyllic-altered mineral assemblage and propylitization altered mineral assemblage.Meanwhile,together with remote sensing interpretation and regional geochemical data,we forecasted the prospecting target of porphyry copper,and delineated 4 remote sensing exploration targets.Comparing with the verified of high-resolution satellite images and the known porphyry copper deposit,the result this study is reliable.","PeriodicalId":67025,"journal":{"name":"地球信息科学学报","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69763086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"A Study on Soil Property Mapping at National Scale Based on Sparse Grid Soil Samples","authors":"Yu Wanli","doi":"10.3724/sp.j.1047.2012.00049","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3724/sp.j.1047.2012.00049","url":null,"abstract":"Soil property data at national scale are necessary inputs for researches on biogeochemical and hydrological cycles.There are two commonly used methods to obtain accurate soil property data at this scale including soil linkage method and spatial interpolation method.In this paper,soil organic matter(SOM) content in Jilin Province was taken as a case study to evaluate these two methods based on 8~32 km grid soil samples and 1∶1 million soil map,in order to provide suggestions about soil property mapping at national scale based on sparse grid soil samples.Independent validation indicated that the mean error(ME) of the soil linkage method was-0.58,higher than the inverse distance weighted(IDW) interpolation method(0.13),but the mean absolute error(MAE) and root mean square error(RMSE) of the soil linkage method were 1.12 and 1.76,respectively,lower than those of IDW interpolation method(1.43 and 2.12).Although the soil property map through IDW interpolation revealed the general trend of soil property distribution,it had \"Bull's eye\" pattern and the estimations in areas with few or no soil samples were unreliable.The soil property map obtained by soil linkage method ignored the variations inside the same soil type on the soil map and a break of soil property existed around different soil boundaries,but the soil distribution regularity was well represented in this map and the details could be obtained.According to the validation results of maps through these two methods,the soil linkage method is better than the spatial interpolation method in soil property mapping based on sparse grid soil samples at national scale.","PeriodicalId":67025,"journal":{"name":"地球信息科学学报","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69762080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
