The 1-pm broad-spectrum seed with a 3 dB spectral bandwidth of 11.3 nm was founded by dispersive wave technology. The average power was scaled up to 6.5 W by two stage ytterbium-doped fiber amplifier and the pulse duration was compressed to 371 fs through grating pair compressor. It is well-known that the luminescence efficiency of dopant emissions could be highly improved with a wide bandgap host material. As a highly thermally and chemically stable wide bandgap semiconductor, β-Ga2O3 is one of the ideal host materials for lanthanide ions, which could introduce additional energy transitions leading to new luminescence. We have successful grown (2 01) oriented rare-earth (RE) doped β-Ga2O3 (RE: Er, Nd, Pr and Ce) thin films on (000l) Al2O3 substrates using radio frequency magnetron sputtering method. The influences of the dopant contents on the structural, optical, photoluminescence, and photoconductive properties of the thin films have been systematically studied. We found that both the crystal lattice and the photoluminescence of the obtained films depends crucially on the doping level. Moreover, by embedding lanthanide ions, RE:β-Ga2O3 could be a sensitive photoluminescence detecting sensor. The tunable PCMM is composed of an array of conjugated bilayer wheel structures integrated photoconductive silicon (Si). The conductivity of photoconductive Si pads filled in the gap of wheel structures can be tuned efficiently through illumination with different pump power of infrared light. This results in the modulation of CD effect with modulation depths of 80.6% and 64.3% at 0.93 THz and 1.49 THz, respectively. The light propagated between the fiber core and the rods can efficiently be coupled into the satellite waveguides under the phase-matching conditions Furthermore, there is a multi-mode interference produced by fiber core modes and rod high order modes.
