For this purpose, the ground reaction force patterns of 33 individuals (comprising healthy male as well as female participants) were recorded over the course of 132 trials. The peak and trough parameters were established for each pattern and used as inputs for the algorithm. These data clusters were used to train, test and validate the neural network using a pattern recognition tool. The results of this work show that this network presents capability of identifying the gender of participants from the peak ground reaction force parameters.","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"179 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76946427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Electricity demand is significantly affected by non linear factors such as climatic condition, calendar and other seasonality have been widely reported in literature. Seasonality exists when electricity load influenced by seasonal factors such as types of days, months or variation of temperature. Therefore, seasonality is considered as one of the main challenging variable in forecasting. Many authors use multiple variables to capture all kinds of seasonal information. In this paper, we address this issue with very simple, but impressive technique on the historical load data called as interaction of variables and construct univariate multiple linear regression very carefully. This model can capture double seasonality: daily and weekly seasonal effect of electricity load and forecasting performance improve significantly. For this purpose, we select two models-model A that can capture double seasonality, and model B is constructed adding some interaction terms among variables so that it can capture more information of electricity patterns. And obviously model B perform better performance because of interaction terms included in model.","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"18 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75405939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The score and weight techniques are applied to the condition assessment. The component of transmission system such as conductor, conductor accessories, insulator, steel structure, foundation, lightning protection, tower accessories and right of way are evaluated while sub-components of each component and classified. The 10 of 115 kV transmission lines in Thailand are evaluated as example in the assessment program. The results show the health index of component, health index of tower and health index of transmission line in form of percentage. The cost of maintenance is considered to plan effective maintenance scheduling for transmission system.","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"3 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78111829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A built-in high definition camera is another solution to accomplish still picture and video recording of an illegal person who approaches a smart meter to cheat electricity billing. In this paper, terminal cover opening, smart meter frame opening and electrical lines bypassing are three abnormal events that are investigated, in which the face detection of the person who stands in front of an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) smart meter will be detected and recorded. This action is performed by a separated camera controller unit inside smart meter. The Haar cascades algorithm is the important mechanism for face detection powered by Raspberry Pi3. The face detection process can be done for several face angles; therefore, the proposed system is sufficiently effective for realistic application, as shown in the experimental results.","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"4 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75201923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One promising area of application is in emergency rescue support. As recently seen in a number of natural catastrophes such as the hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, major communication and electrical infrastructure is knocked out, leading to an inability to communicate between the victims and rescuers on the ground as well as between rescuers themselves. This paper studies the feasibility of using heterogeneous teams of UAVs to rapidly deliver and establish ad hoc communication networks in operational environments through autonomous in-air delivery of CommKits that serve as nodes in local ad hoc networks. Hardware and software infrastructures for autonomous CommKit delivery in addition to CommKit specification and construction is considered. The results of initial evaluation of two design alternatives for CommKits are presented based on more than 25 real flight tests in different weather conditions using a commercial small-scale UAV platform.","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"17 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72880762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The result shows that both of the strongest odorants of sensor response and human's perceived odor in strength were ethanol, ammonia, and nail polish remover, respectively. There was a consistent relationship between the sensor response and the human's odor perception in odor strength, not including to the annoyance due to the complexity of individual sensory odor.
