Subdural electrodes are made by welding Platinum/Stainless steel discs to Platinum/Iridium wire. Precise welding of electrode parts are essential for ensuring biocompatibility and proper impedance to curb with noise conditions which is essential for data acquisition. This paper proposes a design and implementation of a capacitor discharge type impulse current generation for resistance spot welding of subdural elctrode parts. Weld strength test like tensile test and vibration test of subdural electrode parts made of stainless steel were conducted to validate the process invitro.","PeriodicalId":6589,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"1284-1287"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84138230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of Conformal Mapping concept could help to transform a constrained trajectory planning problem, in presence of obstacles or any height constraint, into a simple pseudo obstacle-free optimal trajectory-planning problem. Suitable case studies show that the proposed approach is more consistent with basic flight concepts as well as real world applications. Applicability of the introduced approach is demonstrated by solving a 2-D obstacle-avoidance motion using direct pseudo-spectral method.","PeriodicalId":6589,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI)","volume":"36 1","pages":"3080-3084"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79976149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper reports on the smart automated irrigation system with disease detection. The system design includes soil moisture sensors, temperature sensors, leaf wetness sensors deployed in agriculture field, the sensed data from sensors will be compared with pre-determined threshold values of various soil and specific crops. The deployed sensors data are fed to the Arduino Uno processor which is linked to the data centre wirelessly via GSM module. The data received by the data centre is stored to perform data analysis using data mining technique such as Markov model to detect the possible disease for that condition. Finally, the analysis results and observed physical parameters are transmitted to Android smart phone and displayed on user interface. The user interface in smart phone allows remote user to control irrigation system by switching, on and off, the motor pump by the Arduino based on the commands from the Android smart phone.","PeriodicalId":6589,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI)","volume":"49 1","pages":"422-427"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80320959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The uniqueness of the system is that it is developed by using off the shelf components for high performance, high resolution and low cost three electrode electrochemical biosensor. It is interfaced with PC by USB. Most important parameters that need to set in electrochemical analysis are scan rate, start potential, end potential and step size of linear sweep voltage. In this system, external 16-bit DAC and 24-bit ADC are interfaced which gives the LSV resolution of 763nV and can capture minimum sensor current of 125nA. This kind of signal resolution is needed for detection of low analyte concentration. Most importantly the system does not need any external memory to store the captured sensor data. An employment of cool term software aids the real-time data capture from biosensor and save it in. txt file format for further parameter estimation.","PeriodicalId":6589,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI)","volume":"278 1","pages":"2531-2535"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77068382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Out of the three passive components resistor, capacitor and inductor, it is the inductor which creates problem when it is to be employed for very low frequencies. The inductor at very low frequency requires high value of L which in turn makes it difficult to fabricate in IC form. This paper deals with a proposed passive component of a simulated inductor which can be used for very low frequencies and free from radiation effect. An application to validate its use is shown with simulation results using the analog simulator PSPICE.","PeriodicalId":6589,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI)","volume":"42 1","pages":"2310-2314"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82192538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This hardware consumes more power and generates lot of heat. Cooling system is required to make sure that the hardware is healthy otherwise it will be prone to failure. As a result cost of data center operation will be more and it will not be environmental friendly. By reducing the power consumption we can reduce the cost as well as make data center environmental friendly. This work proposes a software based Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling technique which helps in reducing the power consumption by parallel applications. To evaluate our technique we used popular NAS parallel benchmark and observed that up to 40% energy saving is achieved.","PeriodicalId":6589,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI)","volume":"47 1","pages":"2648-2651"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82237924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Speed control of DC motor with mismatched disturbance load torque is considered; totally unknown model parameters and only upper bounded fast load torque are dealt with. The proposed modification approached the advantages of the performance of the non-modified MRAC and the robustness of the e-modified MRAC. The simulations results showed that weighted e-modification technique speed response has better performance than classical e-modification technique and the non-modified MRAC because it gathered the advantage of the two of performance and robustness; control action resulting from weighted e-modification had better performance than e-modification and avoided the robustness failure due to adaptive gains drift of the non-modified MRAC. MRAC adaptive gains drifted up to unbounded limit due to disturbance while uniform boundedness of adaptive gains are achieved by e-modification and weighted e-modification.","PeriodicalId":6589,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI)","volume":"4 1","pages":"313-319"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87461390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed circuit combines the advantage of quadratic boost converter (QBC) and switched capacitor circuit and produces much higher output voltage under the same duty cycle, and input voltage and with only one switch. The proposed switched capacitor gives continuous input current, reduced voltage stress, wide conversion ratio with high switching frequency. This circuit may be ideal to charge 1000W, 48V battery from an-isolated Photovoltaic cell using DC-DC converter. The quadratic boost converter with switched capacitor is used to fulfill the expectation. The performance of quadratic boost converter is compared with quadratic boost switched capacitor converter (QBSCC) and the results were presented. The simulation was carried out using MATLAB/Simulink toolbox.","PeriodicalId":6589,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI)","volume":"81 1","pages":"1234-1239"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87164930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
