In this sense, we study how the financial sector development (FSD), the involvement of human capital resources (HCR), and the inward flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) can affect economic growth. Using panel econometric methods, we investigate and obtain the results highlight the importance of the main determinants in the East Africa economic growth from the year 1975-2019. Thus the long-run estimation empirical results obtained by the multivariate autoregressive distributed lags, ARDL (2,1,1,1) method, reveal that both FSD and FDI have positively significant effects on economic growth in the panel countries. In addition, the bivariate wavelet analysis of panel ARDL (1,1) estimation, indicates both FDI and GDP growth rates have significantly positive contribution to each other and dynamic inter-temporal causal effects on one another in the short, medium, and long-terms.","PeriodicalId":65561,"journal":{"name":"美中经济评论:英文版","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42758418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We can say that its development stalled due to the obstacles that prevented the further development of the entrepreneurial culture, which began to form from the second half of the century, and that this pause lasted until 1978. But it can be said that the entrepreneurial class that emerged with the 1978 Reform process formed the cornerstone of the rapid economic development of the Chinese economy, which began in the 1980s. In Turkey, entrepreneurship faailets (activities), which started from the ancient periods of the Ottoman Empire, have fallen into a very difficult situation after trade agreements with the United Kingdom and some other European countries. Therefore, the industrial sector and domestic entrepreneurship remained virtually non-existent until the Republic was declared in 1923. After 1923, due to the need for rapid industrialization, foreign capital could also be used. As a matter of fact, the first automotive factory was established in 1929 by Ford Motor Company in Istanbul to produce trucks and automobiles. Thus, in a sense, we can say that the development of domestic entrepreneurship has been cut off culturally. As a matter of fact, Turkey’s first domestic car revolution, after it was manufactured within the state, however, in 1966 by the Koç Group, Turkey’s 2nd technology transfer method from multiple sources. Domestic car Anadol can be produced. But this production has not continued. However, we can say that the two factories established to produce Oyak-Renault cars, which were established by 1971 license agreements, formed the principles of the future development line of Turkey’s automotive industry. In the 1990s, Turkey, together with three automotive products production factories established by foreign companies, began to become a production base of foreign automotive companies in a sense. With the high economic growth rates that began to be achieved in the period between 2002 and 2008, the development process brought with it the excitement that we can produce our own cars. However, despite the intensive efforts shown, the introduction of the prototype of the domestic car based on technology transfer from multiple sources was made in December 2018. This has shown that Turkey does not have sufficient knowledge about gaining the ability to develop technologies. Since the 1980s, China began to industrialize rapidly start to catch up with the high economic growth rate, on the one hand, technology development, earning ability, while on the other hand, as of the 2000s, and nowadays have started giving importance to the development of the automotive industry, the automotive industry has become the leading country in the world in production. Turkey’s lack of technology development capability has led to its lagging behind in the automotive industry, leading China to world leadership.","PeriodicalId":65561,"journal":{"name":"美中经济评论:英文版","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44506911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It gives a comparative analysis of the institutional factors that influence Foreign Direct Investment of the states using the indicators from the World Development Indicators t from 2000 to 2018. The paper is built on the gravity model which was used as a framework to predict the relationship between the dependent and dependent variables. The analysis of the data obtained revealed that the rule of law and control of corruption, management of external debts, and Return on Investment (ROI) for both Tanzania and her trading partners in EAC had a positive effect on the Foreign Direct Investment inflows in Tanzania. Gross Fixed Capital Formation as a proxy for the Quality of Infrastructure in other EAC countries harms Foreign Direct Investment inflows to Tanzania; hence, improvement in infrastructure in EAC is critical to the performance for the EAC partners. Further, the Business Regulatory Environment and Return on Investment were found to be positively correlated with FDI inflows. Inflation harmed the FDI. The study thus underscored the importance of stable Business Environment for Tanzania to continue enjoying the lion share of FDI in EAC. Tanzania Foreign Direct Investment performance in EAC is highly correlated with institution and macroeconomic environment in other EAC countries; hence, there is a Hub-ad spoke relationship on FDI inflows in EAC. Therefore, Tanzania should continue pushing for regulatory and macroeconomic reform in other EAC countries to keep on enjoying the lion share of FDI inflows.","PeriodicalId":65561,"journal":{"name":"美中经济评论:英文版","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48156885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Project/Methodology/Approach: For this study, an exploratory bibliographic research was conducted in order to extract the most important ideas from the literature. Findings: Most studies suggest a positive link between quality management practices and innovation performance in firms, although there are also studies suggesting a neutral or negative relationship. The focus on quality as a competitive tool is crucial but insufficient, and innovation emerges as a new way of meeting customer requirements and expectations. The coexistence of quality management practices and innovation management practices seems to be important although difficult to achieve. Research limitations/implications: The literature review was limited to a database. Practical Implications: The implementation of quality management systems in parallel with innovation poses enormous challenges, as the philosophy governing the two areas can be contradictory. This requires that companies have well-structured and knowledgeable teams. Originality/Value: This study contributed to a better perception and systematization of the relationship between quality and innovation.","PeriodicalId":65561,"journal":{"name":"美中经济评论:英文版","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48266882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has an important role in the sustainable rural development of the country. Evidence from the experience of European Rural Development Programs confirms the role that rural development can play in terms of increasing the welfare of rural populations and reducing the economic imbalance between rural and urban areas. Rural and agricultural policies should build on the identity and tendencies of rural areas through the implementation of integrated strategies and multi-sector approaches. They should promote diversification and foster entrepreneurship, investment, innovation, and employment. These policies should also add value to rural identity and enhance sustainability, social inclusion and local development, as well as increase the resilience of farms and rural communities. In the article, rural development practice in Georgia is represented where agrotourism can be considered as one of the promising directions that contributes not only to the development of tourism, but also is a kind of multiplier for the economy for both the region and the country.","PeriodicalId":65561,"journal":{"name":"美中经济评论:英文版","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49074623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study adopts panel data regression analysis Fixed Effects Model (FEM) and Random Effects Model (REM). The paper finds that bank-specific factors, such as capital efficiency, operational efficiency, credit risk, and bank size significantly determine the financial performance of Nigerian banks. Also, the gross domestic product (GDP) as a macroeconomic factor plays a significant role in determining the profitability of banks in Nigeria. The study recommends that policy should also be directed towards improving the efficiency and resilience of Nigerian banks towards withstanding economic shocks that may occur, such as a global pandemic.","PeriodicalId":65561,"journal":{"name":"美中经济评论:英文版","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42535901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
