This study is specifically focused on the V-I locus method for real-time transformer active part evaluation over the cloud environment and assessment of captured data through cloud computing. Experiments are carried out on a test setup to study turn-to-turn short circuit fault created on small transformers. Transformer mechanical fault recognition is discussed and the voltage/current technique is evaluated. Data obtained from practical measurements is analysed over cloud environment and assessment of the transformer condition is performed via application on mobile device. Also, protection relay connected to the transformer can be activated via cloud-based data assessment.","PeriodicalId":6529,"journal":{"name":"2018 Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD)","volume":"144 1","pages":"1-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80386340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, the problem of temperature rise is more prominent in contrast with the power transformer, which is attributed to the DC magnetic bias and harmonic current. As a consequence, the performance deterioration of oil-impregnated paper is a comprehensive result from multiple factors including thermal stress and electric field. Surface fluorination has obvious effect on the characteristics of the insulating material based on our previous work. This paper is dedicated to research effects of temperature on the charge characteristic of fluorinated oil-paper insulation under the coupling of DC and pulse voltage. The conclusions can be drawn that The strong electronegativity of fluorine and the tiny voids generated by fluorination contributes to capturing carriers for inhibiting the increase level of carrier mobility. The temperature rise has more influence in modifying the trap depth of the fluorinated paper in contrast with the trap density.","PeriodicalId":6529,"journal":{"name":"2018 Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD)","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75873609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Space charge contribution were observed by a fast space charge detecting system based on the automatic equipartition phase shift (AEPS) principle. It shows that space charges are injected from the top electrode for the sample with moisture content of 0.34%. The peak value of homo-charge in both electrodes significantly increase for the sample with moisture connect about 0.98%. It may be associated with the reduction of the charge injection barrier between oilpaper insulation and electrode. And the injection speed for ground electrode increases more than the injection speed for top electrode. This is because the material of two electrodes are different, and the energy level of charges in ground electrode is higher. With moisture content increases, the depth of traps within oil-paper may increase, lead to charges injected from ground electrode easier to be trapped. As moisture content rises from 0.98% to 1.81%, the space charge accumulation phenomena after charge injection and extraction in AC positive half-period is dominated by homo-charge injected from ground electrode, and may suppress the electric field distortion near ground electrode.","PeriodicalId":6529,"journal":{"name":"2018 Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD)","volume":"53 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76017273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this regard, paper samples are impregnated with a non-inhibited and two different inhibited insulating oils having different oil components as well as different inhibitor contents, which are currently used. Although different papers from the past have shown investigations on ageing of oilpaper systems [1]–[4] usually oil was used, which is no longer available today and furthermore no simultaneous comparative study was carried out in the past, as it is presented in this paper. For this study, a hermetically closed system is reproduced, so that a permanent contact with the ambient air is avoided. The entire study extends over a period of 15 weeks at a temperature of 130°C. Accordingly, the study is done for a long-term thermal stress to obtain paper insulations with a wide spectrum of ageing status. The same measurement was also done for an open system, which will be presented in another paper. Oil sampling is performed routinely and parameters like the moisture content, the amount of acid as well as the interfacial tension (IFT) etc. are determined. Furthermore, the DP-value of the paper samples, impregnated with the different oils, is also measured to get information about the actual paper condition. The investigation shows that the oil types influence the ageing process of the insulation system and consequently the production of respective parameters. Moreover, the correlation between the considered oil parameters and ageing status of paper is evaluated and it shows that an assessment of the actual paper condition is possible.","PeriodicalId":6529,"journal":{"name":"2018 Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD)","volume":"22 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75918639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To detect the occurrence of PDs inside oil-filled power transformers, the ultra-high frequency (UHF) detection method is one that can be applied. To date, the sensors, as the most important part in the UHF method, have not been adequately addressed in terms of sensitivity and accuracy. This paper presents a novel UHF sensor called microstrip-fed planar elliptical monopole antenna. This antenna has a simple structure and ultra-wide frequency band. It is designed and simulated using CST software for parametric optimization. Following fabrication, its performance verification is carried out using an experimental test setup for PD source. In addition, comparison is made between various UHF antennas regarding their advantage and limitation. The results show that the new UHF antenna is suitable for PD detection in oil-insulated transformer and its ultra-wide bandwidth frequency response can be a useful means for PD recognition.","PeriodicalId":6529,"journal":{"name":"2018 Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD)","volume":"70 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77400114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents artificial neural network (ANN) to identify the type of PD occurring in C-GIS. PD measurement results obtained from C-GIS in a field were fed to the ANN as input parameters to determine the type of PD or external noises. The C-GIS consists of two compartments of power cables and two compartments of transformers. PD measurements were conducted in the C-GIS using a commercial PD measurement system consisting of an oscilloscope and three different kinds of sensors (transient earth voltage sensor, surface current sensor and high frequency current transformer) to generate input signal waveform parameters for ANN (field data). An attempt was made to locate the PD source using the output of the sensors set at different sites. PD measurements using four kinds of artificial PD sources were also conducted in laboratory using the same PD measurement system to obtain another signal waveform parameters (laboratory data) which were used for training the ANN. Thereafter, an attempt was also made to identify PD source occurring in C-GIS using field data as input for the trained ANN. As a result, the developed ANN was found to predict the kind of PD source as void-discharge with 99% probability.","PeriodicalId":6529,"journal":{"name":"2018 Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD)","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81251575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are differences in the leakage current waveforms in DC cables with different fault defects. In this paper, three common fault model structures are constructed based on XLPE cables, and the collected leakage current signals are analyzed by wavelet packet transform. As the basis of the research on the optical detection of partial discharge (PD), the propagation characteristics of the PD signal in GIL must be paid attention. In this paper, the single-core and three-cores GIL simulation models were established. And parameters of the optical signals generated by PD were observed and compared at the detection point and different detection surfaces. The results show that: In the cavity with different structures, there are different shades of faculae on detection surfaces, and the symmetry properties are also different. The horizontal location of the PD source affects the faculae and relative irradiance values. The optical signals on the detection surface of single-core and three-cores GIL have similar variations. The relative irradiance value obtained at the fixed detection point is related to the internal structure of the cavity, the position and surface of the PD source.","PeriodicalId":6529,"journal":{"name":"2018 Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD)","volume":"41 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81443498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is indicated that there is e index relationship between resistivity and temperature, and there is power exponent relationship between resistivity and electric field. The effect of conductor temperature, the temperature difference of insulation etc. on the electric field distributio of DC cable insulation is analysed. It is shown that the high conductor temperature and the large temperature difference in insulation make not only the insulation property decline but also the electric field distortion. There is no effect of resistivity coefficient on the distribution of electric field, but the low coefficient leads to the decrease of DC cable ampacity.
