In Case II waters, the standard atmospheric correction method embedded in SeaDAS frequently yields negative waterleaving radiance, and its major uncertainties are occurred by the estimation error of atmospheric aerosols that is highly variable in both space and time. In this paper, a modified atmospheric correction method was proposed to correct the atmospheric aerosol effect in Case II waters. The aerosol information derived from multi-angles data in Case II waters and then modify the standard atmospheric correction algorithm to retrieve the waterleaving radiance. From the comparison of the standard atmospheric correction algorithm and the modified atmospheric correction algorithm, the results showed that the modified atmospheric correction method could be effective in Case II waters. In field study, the intensity of DF is reported to be a measure of photosynthetic capacity (marked as PhC). In this research, a new method was developed, which used unsaturated light-induced DF intensity (in this research, marked as IDF) to represent plant PhC. The proposed method prolonged the sustainable working hours of DF detection system. Hence, it was more appropriate than saturated light condition for field study. In order to examine the new method, four different species were chosen as samples to compare IDF with net photosynthetic rate (Pn) under different intensities of excitation light. The results showed that there is an excellent linear correlation between them (R≥0.947). The experimental results testified that unsaturated light-induced IDF can represent the plant PhC.","PeriodicalId":6416,"journal":{"name":"2009 Symposium on Photonics and Optoelectronics","volume":"5 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87236390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By the method of Physical Optics Propagation, the output beam's characteristics including the waist, the waist position, the far field divergence, and the energy distributing characteristics were obtained; rules of the image aberration's effect on the output beam's characteristics and the expanding ratio were analyzed. Then, taking encircled power and uniformity of the output beam for standards, the relation curve of the optimal expanding ratio and the launch distance was achieved. The results reveal that the width of the output beam at a distance of 100 m is less than 250 mm, a maximal collimation distance can be about 2 km, and the energy focus degree and the uniformity of the far field laser are also quite well. These indexes can satisfy the demands of transmission and control of laser beam in laser propulsion technology. Firstly, this paper found the models of the expanding system and the incidence beam. Then, by the method of Physical Optics Propagation, the process of transmission and gradual change of the output laser beam is studied, the characteristic parameters of space and energy distribution were analyzed, the optimal distance between the primary and secondary mirror at definite launching distance were acquired. Finally, taking encircled power(PIB) and uniformity of the laser beam for standards, the optimal expanding ratio at some distance was achieved. The results can be used in the transmission and control of the laser beam in laser propulsion technology.","PeriodicalId":6416,"journal":{"name":"2009 Symposium on Photonics and Optoelectronics","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89747826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
