Evaluation index system of groundwater environment carrying capacity was built and divided into some subsystems in accordance with each index's inherent stratification link. Every index's effect on carrying capacity system was obtained by normalization operations catastrophe-based, so the ultimate value of fuzzy membership function catastrophe-based, which explains the groundwater environment carrying capacity, can been calculated from the lowermost layer to the topmost layer. The method was applied to evaluate groundwater environment carrying capacity in People's Victory Canal Irrigation District. In order to reveal outer and inner factor's effect to groundwater system, evaluation index system was divided into 3 kinds of top-level subsystem, i.e., the development and utilization degree of water resources, economy society and eco-environment subsystem, which include 17 kinds of bottom-level sub-index. The comprehensive evaluation result catastrophe-based is 0.9282, 0.9212, and 0.9150 in 1995, 2000, and 2005 separately, and groundwater environment carrying capacity are all weak and shows a downtrend year by year along with rapid economy expanding. The result reveals that it is a fact that groundwater resources and eco-environment in irrigation district is increasingly prominent. As it is not necessary to define the weight of evaluation indexes in dynamic fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model catastrophe-based, subjectivity of the decision-making has been reduced. The examples show that the method in this paper is reasonable and feasible by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method's validation.","PeriodicalId":6396,"journal":{"name":"2010 4th International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"25 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82050836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The apoptosis of cerebrum neurocytes was detected by agarose gel electrophor-esis, AO/EB double fluorescent staining and flow cytometry. The results showed that: (1) The typical apoptosis and necrosis of cerebrum neurocytes were observed in the fluorescence microscope, and the apoptotic index in the experimental groups was significantly higher than that in the control groups (P<0.01), which increased along with increase of aluminum concentration; (2) The number of cerebrum neurocytes increased in G0/G1 phases, while decreased in G2/M and S phases. The cell proliferation index decreased and apoptosis rate increased, which were significantly different compared with the control ones (P<0.01); (3) The typical DNA Ladder-shaped of cerebrum neurocytes of chickens in experimental groups was displayed by agarose gel electropho- resis. The results indicated that aluminum can cause the DNA damage, inhibite the proliferation and induce the apoptosis of cerebrum cell.","PeriodicalId":6396,"journal":{"name":"2010 4th International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"72 1","pages":"1-3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85763469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dispersed WAFs of No.0 diesel oil was found to be more toxic to sea urchin than WAFs. 24, 48, 72, 96-h EC50 values of WAFs were 18.2 mg/L, 15.5 mg/L, 11.5 mg/L and 9.5mg/L respectively; and those of dis-WAFs were 11.7 mg/L, 9.1mg/L, 7.4mg/L and 5.1mg/L respectively. GC-MS analysis showed that more aromatic compounds dissolve into the sea water after adding chemical dispersant to oil. Followed by the exposure time, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase(CAT) and glutathione S-transferase(GST) activities in intestine were induced first, and then decreased gradually. The dose-effect relationship occurrs in 13d samples; SOD , CAT and GST activities of all concentration groups were recovered to the corresponding control level after 11d recovery experiment. The activities first increased in short time at low concentration of WAFs, and was significantly depressed at high concentrations. SOD, CAT and GST had important roles in detoxification, and showed great potential as biomarkers for benthic marine oil pollution.","PeriodicalId":6396,"journal":{"name":"2010 4th International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"18 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86033992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using leave-one-out cross-validation (LOO-CV), we suppose that predicting accuracy of ISA-ECI is better than the other descriptors in SVR with RBF. The prediction correlation coefficient of the SVR model (ε = 0.001,σ= 5 and C= 100) is 0.8445 by leave-one-out cross validation. The standard error of prediction (SEP) error of the dataset is 1.03 by fitting calculation, and the prediction correlation coefficient is 0.9642.The prediction results are in agreement with the experimental values. This paper provided a simple and effective method for predicting the retention behavior of peptide and some insight into what structural features are related to the retention time of peptides. Moreover, it also offered an idea about nonlinear relation between retention time of peptides and their structural descriptors (ISA-ECI).Therefore, SVR is assumed to be a feasible method in peptide QSAR (Quantitative structure-activity relationships) model.","PeriodicalId":6396,"journal":{"name":"2010 4th International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"87 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84192187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traditional Chinese medicine such as acupuncture has shown great potential in pain relief. Transcutaneous Electrical Acupoint Stimulation (TEAS) has been used and bicoherence of EEG has been extracted and used as evaluation criterion of pain relief in the research. In this study 12 volunteers were enrolled and each one received pain stimulation and attended two group experiments, one was transcutaneous electrical stimulation on Hegu acupoint (TEAS), the other was control group (no stimulation). The EEG was recorded and the volume of bicoherence (BIC_V) was extracted, while attended VAS test. The BIC_V increased after pain stimulation, especially in certain cerebral location (Fp1,P3,O1,O2,T6). The BIC_V decreased larger in extent in TEAS group than control group, which has the same change trend with VAS. The study primary proved the efficiency of acupuncture analgesia and BIC_V could be used as an objective assessment criterion of pain perception.","PeriodicalId":6396,"journal":{"name":"2010 4th International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"IA-21 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84605991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The retrieval of 16SrDNA genes directly from the environment has made it possible to estimate the phylogenetic diversity of a natural bacterial community without preceding cultivation steps, which reflect more comprehensively of bacterial community in the water samples in different ecological restoration areas. The genomic DNA was extracted from water, PCR amplification of this gene fragments; DGGE was analyzed; the abundance of bacteria were observed. The result showed that the bacterial community and abundance changed in different ecological restoration sections. With the depth of bio-disposal, the diversity of microbe community increased, however, the abundance of bacteria declined, which demonstrated the ecological restoration engineering improved the water habitat, promoted the microbe community diversity in the eco-restoration areas.","PeriodicalId":6396,"journal":{"name":"2010 4th International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"11 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78296910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
