It makes use of the fundamental TE<sub>111</sub>mode and higher-order TE<sub>113</sub>mode of a rectangular DRA for the dualband design. The DRA has a square cross section. It is excited by a single microstripline-fed rectangular slot fed. To generate circularly polarized (CP) fields, two corners of the DRA are truncated at 45°, exciting two sets of degenerate orthogonal modes, namely (TE<sub>111</sub><sup>x</sup>, TE<sub>111</sub><sup>y</sup>) and (TE<sub>113</sub><sup>x</sup>, TE<sub>113</sub><sup>y</sup>). Measured results show that the axial-ratio bandwidths of the lower and upper bands are 5.2% and 1.4%, respectively. The reflection coefficient, axial ratio, radiation pattern, and gain of the antenna are studied using ANSYS HFSS. The design of the antenna assumes that the two slots, milled on the opposite broad walls of a rectangular waveguide, are of different slot length. The slots, being of different length, resonate at two different frequencies and thus form a dual band antenna. The analysis of the proposed antenna is based on Multiple Cavity Modeling Technique (MCMT). In contrast to conventional tyre monitoring systems, more data like vibration information and slip angle are collected at this exposed position, so vehicular safety systems can be further improved. Powering of and communication with these sensor units, could be done with UHF radio frequency identification technology. In this contribution we propose a novel compact switched-beam antenna suitable for UHF frequencies. When mounted below the body floor pan of a vehicle, its directivity of 6 dB and the possibility to switch the main beam direction in 90? steps enables selection of a specific tyre for communication. Therefore, Direction Of Arrival (DOA) detection of an incoming radio frequency signal is for several applications an important task. Typical applications for which DOA detection is relevant are for instance high-accuracy indoor navigation systems and dedicated high-speed wireless data links. For accurate DOA analysis a six-port receiver front-end is proposed. Benefits of the six-port architecture are high bandwidth and low circuit complexity. In this paper, we discuss simulation-driven antenna optimization using surrogate models and adjoint sensitivity. And we design the CVIS traffic simulation platform and compare it with the traditional safe distance of the car following model. Available models are aiming at broadcasting applications using high antenna towers and are therefore not applicable for mobile-to-mobile applications like mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET). In this paper, measurements of the path loss using car-mounted receiver and transmitter antennas are presented. Based on the measurement results, a new path loss model is proposed. This antenna is designed for polarization diversity of wireless LAN application (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n). The antenna is operated at dual-band with dual-polarization capability. The prototype flat antenna consists of a plate, a T-step slot, a rectangular slot, a rectangular ring strip, an air gap and a ground plane. The simulation process is done by using the CST Microwave Studio software. The results show the isolations higher than 15 dB that is satisfied the system requirement. The flat antenna is designed to obtain the unidirectional radiation pattern. Classical multipath estimation algorithms such as ESPRIT and SAGE do not include dense multipath in their signal model whereas recent ones, such as RiMAX, do. These estimation algorithms are applied to a-priori known synthetic channels which include both specular components (SCs) and dense multipath components (DMC). The estimation errors of the SCs are computed as a function of the DMC power to evaluate the estimator's robustness.
