And it's proved that if we take blood flow of a local tissue as a clustered sequences, which are made up of a number of capillary units with the same pseudo cycle and different phases, the sequence of microcirculation blood flow and the capillary unit have the same cycle fluctuations. Measured the blood flow of the human biceps in resting, denoised the signals through wavelet tranform, and derived the spectrum and pseudo cycle by Matlab. The character of blood flow fluctuations in a capillary unit can thus be estimated, which provided an effective way to find out character of the blood flow in the capillary unit.","PeriodicalId":6389,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"75 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73907681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

METHODS: Expressions of survivin and caspase-3 were investigated immunohistochemically in 80 gastric carcinoma patients without a history of chemo-radiation therapy. Tumor cell apoptosis was examined by TUNEL method. RESULTS: Immunohistochemical analysis showed that survivin expression was positive in 61 of 80 patients (76%) with gastric carcinoma. In contrast, no expression of survivin in adjacent normal tissues was detected. Expression level of caspase-3 was higher in normal tissues than in carcinoma. Patients with higher expression of survivin had worse histological grades and pathological stages. Expression of caspase-3 was significantly associated with histological stages, but not with the pathological stages. Although survivin expression in carcinoma was not inversely related to caspase-3, patients with survivin (-) and caspase-3(+) had the maximum apoptosis index. CONCLUSION: Expression level of survivin was associated with histological grades and pathological stages of the tumor, indicating that survivin may be a poor prognosis factor for gastric carcinoma. This method without light filter, differed from the DIAGNodent ® and PNC method in its ability for registering fluorescence spectrum. The characteristic spectrum of dental tissue contains rich information about caries components, structure, spatial conformation, and so on. The research was conducted in vitro, and three components of characteristic spectrum are analyzed: backscattering, reflection and auto-fluorescence. It enables not only to evaluate chemical changes in tooth by analyzing characteristic frequencies of auto-fluorescence spectrum, but also to estimate structure and morphological changes in tissue by means of anti-stokes fluorescence spectrum. Preliminary results show that this method has a potential application in the quantitive diagnosis of various stages of dental caries and high sensitivity for detecting early caries and the surface damage of health enamel. Dental caries is oral disease with high incidence caused by bacterial infection, which seriously endangers human health. Conventional procedures for caries detection are unable to detect the lesions until they are well advanced and involve about one-third of the thickness of enamel. The problem of early caries lesions formation and development is still present for scientific debates. The first sign of the caries demineralization is concerned with the increase of microporosity of enamel. Additionally it is known that caries process is periodic and with the increased penetration of acids. It is possible to eliminate micro-lesions of crystalline structure of enamel by controlling environmental factors of oral cavity. Total reconstruction of tooth tissue is possible only in very early stage. A caries diagnosis method by detecting fluorescence spectrum including backscattering, back-reflected and auto- fluorescence is proposed, which is more sensitive to detect early caries, surface damage of health enamel. II. CARIES PROCESS It is generally recognized that that the caries process results from a shift in the oral equilibrium favoring demineralization over re-mineralization for a prolonged period of time. Thus, the body's natural defense mechanisms are simply unable to repair the damage at the same rate that demineralization continues to occur. Eventually, an \"incipient\" caries lesion is detected as a so-called \"white spot\". An examination of this stage of the lesion reveals a thin layer of partially-dematerialized enamel covering a large de-mineralized area. Caries occurs regardless of the type of tooth surface, the age of the host or whether the tooth is deciduous or permanent. It is also known that re- mineralization of these lesions at this stage can only occur as long as the thin layer of enamel remains intact over the lesion; if the surface layer is","PeriodicalId":6389,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"32 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74918514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, normal ranges of the two curves which reflecting the information of relationship of TEOAE's logarithm AR spectrum with frequency and the relationship of the suppressed TEOAE's logarithm AR spectrum with frequency for the normal hearing ears were obtained. Then the subject's logarithm AR spectrum with frequency and the suppressed logarithm AR spectrum with frequency curves were compared with the two normal-hearing curves' range respectively.
