Unfortunately, automatic control is only possible in a fully autonomous environment without legacy vehicles and vulnerable road users like cyclists and pedestrians. In this paper we introduce hybrid intersection management: a concept which makes it possible to gain the benefits from autonomous vehicles in the situation with mixed traffic. A new message protocol, the individual Space & Time message (iSPaT), is introduced to effectively send instructions to autonomous vehicles. The iSPaT message is also used to guide autonomous vehicles safely over the intersection in a “woven” manner. The development of hybrid intersection management can be started today, and shifts towards automatic control when the amount of autonomous vehicles increases.","PeriodicalId":62390,"journal":{"name":"交通与运输工程:英文版","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47391469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Innovative technologies and business processes are therefore useful and needed to achieve key steps on the way to an overall optimization of rail transport within global supply chains. A substantial part of the European rail freight transport has its origin or its destination in an inland or sea port. Considering the railway system, ports play a more important role for urgently needed innovations than the pure interfaces between sea and land transport. Especially ports with their own railway system have an own responsibility in this matter. Insofar the goal of the Bremen Port Railway—which already now has a leading share of railway in modal split in Europe—is to exploit the opportunities offered by digitalization. Significant steps for this are the optimization and gradually automatization of rail operational processes on the last mile including modern and transparent IT systems and the designing of autonomous shunting processes. Together with research partners ISL (Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics Bremen), BIBA (Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics) and IVE (Institute for Transport, Railway Construction and Operation in Brunswick) and in connection with associated business partners the project Rang-E has been applied for at the Ministry of Transport in the funding initiative IHATEC (Innovated HArbour TEChnologies)—and had won a grant to perform the proposed work. Basic thoughts are outlined in the following.","PeriodicalId":62390,"journal":{"name":"交通与运输工程:英文版","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41806242","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this way, one of the fundamental steps in the ABM approach is to project the socio-economic characteristics of all household members while considering some marginal constraints available for the whole of population which is known as population synthesizing. In the current paper, the household characteristics distribution is defined as the probability of having a household with a particular size, number of students and workers. The main goal of current research is to statistically fit the household characteristics distribution of the population to a previously obtained distribution for sample households in a way which satisfies the marginal constraints in traffic zones. It is also followed to solve two main issues in most previous research on population synthesis, one of them is related to the so called \"zero cell\" and the other is known as the \"Integrality\" problem. Similarity between characteristics distributions of the sample and all households can be achieved by using Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) with the marginal constraints. Satisfying all marginal constraints in a single optimization for a real case study involving a huge number of households increases the mathematical complexity of the problem, and likely leads to an infeasible state. In the current paper, a new idea for solving this problem in real cases is proposed. The proposed algorithm using GAMS software is implemented in Mashhad city (population of more than 2.5 million) in Iran.","PeriodicalId":62390,"journal":{"name":"交通与运输工程:英文版","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44170217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They contribute to the opening of the regional markets and boosting the intraregional and international trade. For a region which suffered tremendously during the 1990’s and saw brutal abruption of the transport network across the region, leaving fragmented pieces of what used to be a nearly single transport system, the coordination of investments for large transport infrastructure projects and policies which facilitates such investments, is of utmost importance. The transport policy and investment coordination on regional level is conducted under the South East Europe Transport Observatory (SEETO), aiming to promote development of the multimodal SEETO Comprehensive Network, which now forms part of the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T Comprehensive Network). The paper will firstly focus on the general conditions of the Network and elaborate the methodology and coordination mechanisms for prioritization of regional-scale projects, the investments in which, have reached €10.8 billion in 2007-2011 period. Although significant progress of the network conditions is apparent, the investments needs of the regional transport network are still quite high: €8.6 billion. (source: SEETO). Parallel to the development of the Network, the countries from the region endeavor to carry out measures that transform and modernize their national transport system in line with the EU Transport Policy. The paper will look at these soft/horizontal measures that aim at alleviation of the regulatory and institutional deficiencies, thus bringing added value to the regional transport policy. Finally, the paper will recommend further incentives for transport collaboration across border and actions at regional level which are likely to have greater impact on the transport and border-crossing facilitation as well as enhancement of the transport services.","PeriodicalId":62390,"journal":{"name":"交通与运输工程:英文版","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49434311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To respond the changes and the needs of customers, a UTCS (unified train control system) has been developed to realize a system that evolves with customers. Previous type systems consist of independent components such as ATC (Automatic train control) system, electronic interlocking system, and facility monitoring system, and there are a complicated overlap of system configurations and functions and difference in concept between the systems. On the other hand, the integrated train control system consists of horizontal layers such as function layer, network layer, and terminal layer. Therefore, the system has been developed to make it simple with no unnecessary redundancy and evolving to meet the needs of customers. In this paper, we explain a method that realizes the interlocking function for CBTC system in the function layer based on the concept of “securing a train travelling path” including path blocking and routing, and evaluate the safety of the method using STAMP/STPA.","PeriodicalId":62390,"journal":{"name":"交通与运输工程:英文版","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49463658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The passenger satisfaction pyramid is introduced, consisting of the base of the pyramid (dissatisfiers) focusing on time well saved and the top of the pyramid (satisfiers) aiming at time well spent. The challenge in planning and design of public transport services is to find the most efficient (set of) design choices. Depending on the context this might either mean focusing on the top or on the bottom of the pyramid. We found that influencing and enhancing the qualities of the satisfiers is far more important than traditional studies showed us. For stations, regression analyses show that dissatisfiers are responsible for explaining almost half of the total score of the station and satisfiers are responsible for the other half of the scores passengers give for the station. We still have to put a lot of energy in getting the basics right, starting in the planning phase, but then we are not allowed to lean back. We have to keep investing in qualities like ambience, comfort and experience which makes the customers truly happy at the end of the day.","PeriodicalId":62390,"journal":{"name":"交通与运输工程:英文版","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48750260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Clearly, spraying of bond coats or tack coats at the interface of the bound layers should improve the likelihood of full bond and of resistance to the entry of water through the layers, both of which are needed to meet the design objectives and for the pavement to continue to function properly. BS 594987 recommends bond coats, which are typically polymer modified bitumen emulsion, as best practice and their use is prevalent for the whole range of paved areas in the UK. Recent work examines the effect of different rates of spread of bitumen emulsion sprays on interlayer adhesion and permeability, and attempts to ascertain whether there are optimum quantities to obtain the desired effects.","PeriodicalId":62390,"journal":{"name":"交通与运输工程:英文版","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46396743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The case study where this research is concentrated is located in the city of Ensenada, where the demand for greater capacity in general basic services such as drinking water supply has created a greater problem when the availability of this resource is very limited by the climatic conditions and the natural environment in arid zones as it is in the North of Baja California. In this research we propose the design and installation of a rainwater collection system, with economic materials and common use that any inhabitant can acquire for their implementation in their own home. In this sense, dissemination has been promoted about the advantages of using natural resources based on collective awareness, emphasizing the scientific dissemination of knowledge. For this last point the moderation of the use of rainwater is made to cover the domestic demand for water through a rain collection system installed in a house of average family.","PeriodicalId":62390,"journal":{"name":"交通与运输工程:英文版","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42858928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
