In this paper, we introduce LiShield, which automatically protects a physical scene against photographing, by illuminating it with smart LEDs flickering in specialized waveforms. Our prototype implementation and experiments show that LiShield can effectively destroy unauthorized capturing while maintaining robustness against potential attacks.","PeriodicalId":62224,"journal":{"name":"世界中学生文摘","volume":"71 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84291623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among them, capacitive touch communication which utilizes the touchscreen process as communication channel has been proposed with the promising future since capacitive touchscreen has been widely known as an important component of pervasive touch-enabled smart devices. In this paper, we present for the first time the indirect method of capacitive touch communication that allows the users to transmit their information from the wearable devices to the touch-enabled devices using human body as a medium. The key idea is to modulate the signal emitted from a wearable device propagating through user's body. These signal can be decoded to extract the transmitted data when the user touch to the touch-surface. In particular, we show a system design of through-body capacitive touch communication channel together with the circuit model analysis. We present our preliminary results of our system, and identify possible challenges for future research and development.","PeriodicalId":62224,"journal":{"name":"世界中学生文摘","volume":"2014 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86600423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many of these Things are embedded in the physical infrastructure, and like the infrastructure they are designed to last for decades -- far longer than is normal with today's electronic devices. What happens then, when an occupant moves out or transfers ownership of her Smart Environment? This paper outlines the critical challenges required for the safe long-term operation of Smart Environments. How does an occupant identify and decommission all the Things in an environment before she moves out? How does a new occupant discover, identify, validate, and configure all the Things in the environment he adopts? When a person moves from smart home to smart office to smart hotel, how is a new environment vetted for safety and security, how are personal settings migrated, and how are they securely deleted on departure? When the original vendor of a Thing (or the service behind it) disappears, how can that Thing (and its data, and its configuration) be transferred to a new service provider? What interface can enable lay people to manage these complex challenges, and be assured of their privacy, security, and safety? We present a list of key research questions to address these important challenges.","PeriodicalId":62224,"journal":{"name":"世界中学生文摘","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77382936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, we design a hardware plug-in module that snaps onto the smartphone's flashlight and estimates the blood oxygen content from the light intensity reflected off the user's finger and registered on camera images. The oxygen levels are mapped to equivalent photoplethysmography (PPG) signals used for the SpO2 estimation using a machine learning based one-time calibration. With the knowledge that blood oxygen largely responds to Infrared (IR) and Red wavelengths, state-of-the-art pulse oximetry techniques use IR and RED light emitting diodes and photodetectors to sense each channel. We further develop a novel solution that exploits the IR leakage of the LED white light of the smartphone. The system is incorporated with a hardware of IR and RED filters that are spatially separated such that the respective signals are registered on independent areas of the image sensor. We present the preliminary results and analyse possible challenges for further improvement.","PeriodicalId":62224,"journal":{"name":"世界中学生文摘","volume":"16 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85191563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our method synchronizes all network APs on the Ethernet backhaul using the IEEE 1588 Precise Time Protocol, while all clients are synchronized to their home AP via reference broadcast synchronization. We implement this synchronization primitive on WARP software-defined radios and evaluate through a microbenchmark involving four network links. The results verify that our method achieves sub-microsecond synchronization accuracy among all network nodes and therefore serves as an effective building block for protocol development.","PeriodicalId":62224,"journal":{"name":"世界中学生文摘","volume":"49 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88392269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, existing VLP systems either require specialized LEDs which hinder large-scale deployment, or cameras which preclude continuous localization due to power consumption and short coverage. We propose Pulsar, which uses a compact photodiode sensor to discriminate existing ceiling lights based on their intrinsic optical emission features. To overcome the photodiode's lack of spatial resolution, we design a novel sparse photogrammetry mechanism, which resolves the light's angle-of-arrival, and triangulates the device's 3D location and orientation. To facilitate ubiquitous deployment, we further develop a light registration mechanism that automatically registers ceiling lights' locations on a building's floor map. Our experiments demonstrate that Pulsar can reliably achieve decimeter precision with continuous coverage.","PeriodicalId":62224,"journal":{"name":"世界中学生文摘","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86929600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
