Plot entertains readers to turn the pages of a literary work. Setting refers to the time and space in which the events of the plot happen. It means that in analysing the setting, one should analyse the main event in the plot arranged in a story. Sometimes discussing the plot and setting there is still in the analysis that needs to be explained more deeply and incomplete according to the story in the movie. This study aimed to identify the plot’s elements and analyse in detail the setting in every sequence in Raya And The Last Dragon movie. The theories applied DiYanni (2004)'s theory of plot and Kenny's theory (1966) of setting were both used in this study. Data of this study was taken from observation and taking note of the movie, and script of the movie, the method applied was a qualitative method. The collected data were selected and put into plot and type of setting categories, which were descriptively analysed based on the theory applied. The results of this study show that the plots of this movie consist of five parts, namely exposition, complication, turning point or climax, falling action, and is ended by a resolution (denouement). In Kariage Kun, a well-known Japanese humor comic, it is challenging to analyze what maxim violation is explored to create humor, as it represents a co-interplay between a series of images and text. This study aimed to analyze the pattern of maxim violation in source text from Kariage Kun vol 49 (from word level to sentence level) and to compare whether the pattern of maxim violation is similar or shifting in the Indonesian version. The result of this study shows that the author of the comic explored the violation of maxims to create humor. The violation took place on a single or combination of the maxim of quantity, the maxim of quality, the maxim of relevance, and the maxim of manner. Compared to the target text, there are not many (less than ten percent) shifting of the pattern of maxim violation in the target text. Language interference is the language phenomenon common in bilingual speakers. It is one of bilingualism aspects that occurs on the level of structure and cultural sense whether oral or written, especially when somebody is learning his or her second language. The main problem in this research is what kind of interference is found in shopkeepers and how is the form of interference from Acehnese language to Indonesian in several shops in Medan Johor district. Interference refers to a deviation in using a language by including another language system. The method used is descriptive qualitative which describes a situation in the form of words that are analyzed orally and writing and consider the opinions of other people called sources. As the result of the research, it can be concluded that the interference of the Acehnese language to Indonesian speech that occurs in the conversations of buying and selling transactions in several stores in the Medan Johor district includes morphological interference, and syntactic interference. This research uses a descriptive – qualitative approach with a case study design that is oriented towards the translation product. The data sources in this study are the document and exposition text “When Being Overweight Is a Health Problem” which was reviewed by Mary L. Gavin, MD and reviewed in 2018 as the object of the study, and the results of the translation from English which are summarized in this research data are in the form of words, phrases, clauses and sentences of expository texts and their translations. Research data was collected by document analysis and analyzed by interactive analysis method. The research findings are as follows, first, seven translation methods are applied in translating expository texts, namely the word-for-word method, the faithful method, the semantic method, the adaptation method, the independent method, the idiomatic method, and the communicative method. Second, eight translation techniques are applied in translating expository texts, namely literal techniques, pure borrowing, natural borrowing, calque, transposition, modulation, omission and addition. Based on the frequency of use, the literal technique ranks first, followed by natural borrowing, pure borrowing, transposition, calque, modulation, omission, and addition techniques.
