This study applies the SPSS 23 software by Correlation matrix using Pearson coefficient in order to show the connection between export determinants and export, as well as the Linear Regression Models, in order to show the degree of impact of the export determinants on export. The analysis revealed the existence of the significant correlation between export and several hypothetical export determinants – import, GDP, GDP per capita, savings, population, employment, productivity of work, exchange rate, and consumption prices – as well as the impact of those on export. It stresses as well that there is no relationship between export and FDI, investments, and industrial production.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"46 1","pages":"151-171"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43864994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The application of one unconditional VaR and ES model based on EVT and three variants of conditional models of VaR and ES based on EVT in the capital markets of the selected WBC was tested in the paper. To test the VaR model, a conditional and unconditional cover test was used, with the note that their results were subject to verification using the Monte Carlo test procedure. The obtained results suggests that these models can be successfully used to quantify extreme market risk in selected markets, in the context of Basel standards. ES models have been tested and ranked using loss function. By using the Bootstrap simulation, these results are subject to verification. The obtained results does not reveal which model is most suitable for the selected markets, since they are differently ranked in different markets.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"46 1","pages":"99-115"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43259578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The world’s most developed economies pay more and more attention to this concept. The European Union adopted a special document to affirm the concept. In Serbia, this concept is in its early stages, but is being practically (production) and institutionally actuated. This paper analyses a sample of six companies engaged in different production options in the area of circular economy. The aim of the paper is to analyse the perspective of a new concept in Serbian economy, through assessment of the financial position and credit rating of these companies by applying Altman’s Zʼ and Z”-adjusted score model. The findings in the paper showed that the companies which had been subject to this analysis have such financial position and credit rating that make assessment of their future optimistic. In the light of that, there is a prospect for the development of circular economy concept in Serbia.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"46 1","pages":"77-98"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47135886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this paper is to analyse the currency structure of the public debt in Serbia and the associated risks, and to present the recommendations for improving public debt management based on international experiences. This paper analyses the currency structure of public debt of Serbia over the period 2004-2016, the comparative indicators of dollarization in Serbia and selected countries of the region, as well as the currency risk movements. The currency structure of the public debt of Serbia characterizes the predominance of three currencies – dinar, dollar and euro. Serbia is the most euroised country in the region, along with a marked highest share of dollar debt in total public debt.  As a result, due to currency mismatch, the public debt of Serbia is exposed to high currency risk. Based on the presented successful examples of public debt management in Hungary and Poland, as countries with a low level of dollarization, the recommendations for improving public debt management system in Serbia are presented in the final section of our paper.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"46 1","pages":"71-91"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46001594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main task of the research is to indicate how changes in market share affect the development of the retail sector. Based on financial indicators in retail, realized turnover and profit per employee, the null research hypothesis was tested for proving a significant correlation between the size of market share of retail chains and their productivity and business results. The obtained results show the level of deviation in terms of the differences between the size of market share and productivity and the business result. There is also an obvious increase in the market share of large retail chains which has led to a decrease in the total number of small independent retailers, as well as a rise in market concentration levels. The obtained results, the conducted analyses and tests will point to the potential dangers of the concentration of the national market and define the criteria for achieving a higher degree of homogeneity. Suggestions and guidelines for future research are presented in the paper.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"46 1","pages":"145-161"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48942423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In that purpose, the empirical connection between the aggregate economic activity and key macroeconomic variables was examined, such as the GDP components, industrial production, employment, wages, price and monetary aggregates from the aspect of volatility, synchronization, and co-movements, as well as persistency. Also, the obtained results were compared to the results of similar researches in transition countries of the Central and Eastern Europe. Findings confirm the existence of significant regularities in movements of the analyzed economic time series compared to movements of the aggregate economic activity. Thus, the determined cyclical characteristics of the macroeconomic variables in Serbia do not deviate significantly from the so far documented characteristics in other European developing countries, even in respect of the differences compared to the developed countries","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"46 1","pages":"21-43"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71229486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Empirical analysis is based on data for cumulative growth rate of values of nine original Legatum Prosperity Index (LPI) pillars and on implementation of Multivariate Data Analysis. Using Principal Component Analysis, four principal components are obtained and we named them: Economic Environment, Social Infrastructure, Institutional Framework and Life Conditions. Based on standardised score values of four new variables, we distinguish the countries that had the highest positive and negative score in each component. With cluster analysis based on LPI pillars growth rates, four clusters of countries have been formed: the first cluster consists of three Western Balkan countries, the second and third of, respectively, ten and four mostly new EU member state countries, and fourth of fourteen predominantly “old” EU member countries. The analysis points out the fundamental drivers of prosperity in countries belonging to different clusters according to changes in values of nine LPI pillars in the previous decade. In all observed countries it is possible to identify certain similarities in the change of components of prosperity, as they are EU members or candidates for membership. 1 University of Belgrade, Faculty of Economics, bgavrilo@ekof.bg.ac.rs 2 University of Belgrade, Faculty of Economics 3 This paper is a result of research as part of projects No. 179065, No. 179005 and III46001, financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.
