The method used in this research is the Research & Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implementation, Evaluate) model. Analyze stages are carried out in the form of curriculum analysis, concepts, and learning resources. In the design process, textbooks are made following the guided inquiry learning stages and design the media in the form of images that show multiple representations so that an initial draft is produced. At the Develop stage, draft books are printed and reproduced for validation and revision. The next step of implementation is carried out through a small-scale trial to determine the initial response to the textbook. In the final stage (Evaluation), the textbook on the results of the small-scale trial was revised to be used in the medium-scale trial to get the textbook's final response data. This study involved ten students in the chemical Tadris department in the small group and 29 students in the moderate group. The instrument used was the validation sheet and the language response sheet and the presentation of the textbook. Data of expert validation and trial results were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively in the form of percentages using a Likert scale. The results showed the feasibility of the content, linguistic, presentation, and graphic textbooks, respectively 95.33%, 94.76%, 92.16%, and 92.58%. The suitability of the textbooks with the guided inquiry syntax and multiple presentations was 98.33% each. A small group trial shows that the language aspect gets 84.33 scores, and the presentation aspect is 84.75. After the textbook was revised, the trial results for the medium group showed that the linguistic aspect value was 90.34, and the presentation aspect was 92.59. Overall it can be concluded that the textbooks developed are very suitable for use in learning.","PeriodicalId":55717,"journal":{"name":"EduChemia","volume":"5 1","pages":"180-196"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44123817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design. Antioxidant activity was tested using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The results showed phenolic levels of all test samples ranged from 0.509-23.205 mg GAE/g samples; flavonoids amounted to 0.027-17.329 mg QE/g samples, vitamin C amounted to 15,917-101,705 mg AA/g samples and IC50 of 114.213-20727.500 mg/l. This is because the characteristics of the concept are abstract concepts with real context. It makes students more interested in studying the phenomenon but lack to explain the concept and some students show misconception. Therefore this research aims to design learning sequences of metallic bonding topics using the framework model of educational reconstruction (MER). This sequence considers the students’ and scientists’ conception. Considering the initial conception of students in designing learning sequences provides benefits for students. Through MER, learning sequences begin by analyzing student conceptions through semi-structured interviews and concept maps designed by students. Scientific conception analysis is done through concept analysis of several text books that are often used in learning. There are three criteria of students’ conception they are prefer to scientist conception, misconception, and incompetence. Based on the three criteria, learning sequences are produced with the aim to bringing students' conceptions toward scientific conceptions.","PeriodicalId":55717,"journal":{"name":"EduChemia","volume":"5 1","pages":"101-110"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43003143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, hydrazone-type Schiff base compounds, salicylaldehyde-2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone (SDPH), resulted from the condensation of salicylaldehyde (1.5 mmol) and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (1.5 mmol) were synthesized and characterized with 1H-NMR. The synthesized SDPH was used as ligands in the formation of Co(II) metal complexes. The Co(II)-SDPH complexes were synthesized with reflux reaction at 60 o C for 6 hours in molar ratio 1:3. Triethylamine is used to synthesis Co(II)-SDPH, which serves to deprotonate SDPH ligands. ESI-MS analysis showed that the complex is a neutral dimeric complex.The complex has the chemical formula [Co2(SDPH)2[(Et)3N]2(acn)2(OH)2} ([M+Na]+ = 1061 g/ mol), shown on the ESI-MS spectrum. Coordinate bonds between Co (II) metal ions with ligands are observed in the presence of shifting of the C=N wave number, as well as the loss of the vibrating peaks of the O-H groups to the infrared spectra of complexes. The IR spectrum of complexes was suggested that SDPH behave as a bidentate ligand through the azomethine nitrogen atom and phenolic oxygen atom. The ligand and its Co(II) complex have been screened for antioxidant activity against DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazine). Based on the activity test results, the IC50 value of Co(II)-SDPH complex was lower than ligand.
