This study aims to analyze factors influencing symptoms of depression among the elderly in urban areas of Indonesia. Adopting a quantitative cross-sectional design, the researchers scrutinized secondary data available publicly from Indonesian Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) 2018. The data were analyzed using logistic regression statistics. We found that there are 11.2% (n=3200) of respondents who experienced symptoms of depression from 28.570 elderly in Indonesia urban areas. The bivariate results showed that gender (95% CI 1.257-1.536), history of chronic diseases (95% CI 1.834-2.242), educational status (95% CI 3.033-5.141), employment status (95% CI 1.434-1.770), marriage status (95% CI 1.134-1.391), and physical activity (95% CI 1.255-1.565) significantly correlated with the symptoms of depression among elderly. Low educational status is the most dominant variable influencing symptoms of depression in urban areas of Indonesia. Education influences individual behavior, the higher the individual's education, the higher the level of knowledge through the ability to receive and rationalize information more easily. Our result might be used in developing the educational programs as a preventive and promotive effort by the government.","PeriodicalId":55655,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Psikologi","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90679622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whereas some ideas analyze that leadership is inseparable from context and is more appropriate according to the setting of a particular society. This study aims to avoid bias when interpreting leadership patterns by finding a concept of Islamic leadership in the field of Education. This research was conducted using qualitative research methods with a case study approach. The participants of the study were two principals and five academic staff in two well-known excellent Islamic senior high schools which become school models pointed out by MORA Indonesia. The data validity checking technique was done by credibility test including method triangulation namely using direct interviews, observations, online surveys, and data sources triangulation using participative observations, school archives, field notes, photos, and video documentation while the researchers were at the location. Triangulation is used to check data from various sources in various ways. Study results showed that the principal's leadership pattern implemented Islamic religious values and the context of the society. Indonesia is predominantly Muslim, where Islamic-based education has been facilitated by the state and included in the policy system, so the findings can be considered when carrying out educational management based on Islamic values.","PeriodicalId":55655,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Psikologi","volume":"64 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90167952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Few studies have been conducted on young parents with ACE in Indonesia, of which indicated that parenting stress is more common in young parents with ACE.The gap between resources, expectations, and negative mental judgment in response to differences lead to parental stress. The purpose of this research is to explore parenting experiences among young adults with ACE, specifically understanding how they cope with stress. This qualitative study adopted a snowball sampling (Yin, 2016) to identify six participants who are currently a parent with ACE. This research employed a phenomenological qualitative design (Yin, 2016). In-depth interviews are the primary data collection and data was analysed with a thematic analysis. The result indicated that ACE has a significant influence on current parenting stress experiences. Religiosity was found to have an essential role in coping with parenting stress. Cultural standard is a significant characteristic of a nation’s culture, impacting an individual’s thought patterns, emotions, and behavior. Religiosity is an appreciation of a specific religion that helps overcome parenting stress. The ability to overcome this situation, find personal growth, and appreciate life and spiritual changes is called post-traumatic growth.","PeriodicalId":55655,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Psikologi","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82834658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to examine attitudes toward seeking professional help regarding mental health knowledge, perceived public stigma, age, gender, and education. The participants involved were 701 people, aged between 19-49 years old. The research instruments were the ATSPPH-SF Scale, the MHLS Scale, and the PPMHS Scale. The multiple linear regression analysis results showed that mental health knowledge and perceived public stigma together played a role in the attitudes of seeking formal help (F=46,161; p0.05). The results of the independent t-test showed differences in attitudes toward seeking help based on gender and education level (p0.05). This study concluded that knowledge of mental health, gender, and education could predict the attitudes toward formal help-seeking, while perceived public stigma and age could not predict help-seeking attitudes.","PeriodicalId":55655,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Psikologi","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83930460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Scores on IQ tests as well as intelligence sub-components between ASD and typically developed (TD) children, reflect distinct underlying cognitive processes. Therefore, a comprehensive investigation of the neuropsychological aspects of children ASD may better refine our understanding of the cognitive abilities among children with ASD. The current cross-sectional study investigated differences in intelligence profiles and executive function among children with TD children and children with High-Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (HFASD). A total of 34 participants met criteria for inclusion with 24 participants in the TD group, and 10 in the HFASD. Some of the measures which were used included the SB-LM, Executive Function Indonesia (EFI), and Autism Spectrum Quotient: Children's Version (AQ-Child). Data were analysed using Spearman correlation and Mann-Whitney test. Results showed no differences in the intelligence profile in both groups, yet significant differences were found in the composite EF, Inhibitory Control, and Cognitive Flexibility. Additionally, there was a difference in the correlation of intelligence and EF variables between the two groups. Thus, it can be concluded that both groups show qualitatively different cognitive processes. A recommendation derived from these results is that comprehensive EF assessment and treatment should be conducted as part of the global evaluation of ASD patients, primarily to design an intervention to enhance their academic domain.","PeriodicalId":55655,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Psikologi","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76174744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Instruments used included the Relational Maintenance Behavior (self-reported and partner-reported) to see the use of RMB strategies, and the Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS) to see the marriage satisfaction. Data were collected from 152 individuals who participated in commuter marriage, aged below 38, and have been married for less than 13 years (the adjusting type). Finding reveals that both the use of Relationship Maintenance Behavior and perception of partner’s use of Relationship Maintenance Behavior significantly predict marriage satisfaction in commuter marriage. Specifically, the Relationship Maintenance strategy that significantly predicts marital satisfaction is positivity, and the Relationship Maintenance strategies used by the partner that significantly predict marital satisfaction are shared task and positivity.","PeriodicalId":55655,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Psikologi","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84782687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many role demands must be met from the work and family domains or are called work-family conflicts. The consequences of ongoing work-family conflict can be detrimental to individual health physically and psychologically, so prevention efforts are made by examining the role of the antecedent variables, namely work-family climate and work-family overload on work-family conflict. This study aims to examine the role of work-family climate and work-family overload on work-family conflict. The method used is quantitative. The research subjects were BPR Central Java and DIY employees. Statistical analysis with multiple regression tests. The sampling method uses simple random sampling. The results showed that there was a significant influence between work-family climate, work-family overload and work-family conflict on BPR employees (Rsquare = 0.505 p < 0.001). Work-family overload greatly influences work-family conflict ( r= 0.69) and work-family climate contributes (r = -0.22) to reducing work-family conflict among employees. These two variables contribute 50.5% to work-family conflict among BPR employees in Central Java and DIY. The ability of BPR employees to manage work-family conflict can prevent the consequences of work-family conflict, such as protecting their physical and psychological health so that they are able to improve their performance and quality of life in the post-pandemic period.","PeriodicalId":55655,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Psikologi","volume":"176 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77253501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The adaptation of this measuring instrument goes through several stages, starting from translation, back translation, testing the reliability coefficient, and collecting validity evidence in the form of content-based testing and internal structure testing using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). This study involved a sample of students in Bandung and Cimahi, as many as 273 students. The results showed that the Indonesian version of PSA Scale was declared reliable (alpha Cronbach = 0.841) and met the goodness of fit index criteria. This study aimed to describe the dynamics of mothers of junior high school students in giving riding permits to their children. Using the explanatory sequential mixed methods (QUAN-qual), this study was carried out in three phases. Phase 1 was a quantitative study using an online questionnaire, with a total of 496 participants. Data analysis used chi square and Odds Ratio. Phase 2 is a qualitative study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with three mothers of junior high school students. The results of the interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis. Meanwhile, phase 3 was data integration using joint displays. The findings show that the child’s age is the main consideration for the mother in making the decision to allow them to drive. This decision is also influenced by the husband's approval and the mother's perception of the advantages, dangers, and violations of traffic rules. Environmental and household characteristics play a role in shaping the mother's perception.
