Thus, the purpose of the study described here was to examine the entrepreneurship challenges faced by the Black, African, and Caribbean Diaspora (BACD) within the UK. Using the lens of critical race theory and the qualitative phenomenological interpretive approach, the data for the study was based on 27 interviews with BACD entrepreneurs to gain a greater understanding of the constraints and challenges they experience. Access to funding remains an issue, and the findings show that although BACD have a greater propensity to become entrepreneurs, they are more likely to be structurally and systemically constrained, perpetuating limited opportunities, social capital, and access to resources. Issues associated with BACD entrepreneurship, including racial discrimination, structural inequalities, institutionalised poverty, and systematic oppression, have significant implications for inclusive policies and practices as well as for recognising diversity. While generalising the findings may be constrained by its limited sample size, this paper provides new empirical insight into the challenges faced by BACD entrepreneurs in the UK and adds to a body of knowledge that can be utilised by entrepreneurs, policymakers, and the government. This is a departure from previous studies within the area of entrepreneurship. It also introduces a new selfcontradictory construct now presented as the Race Paradox.\"","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"43 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80085912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We found that all countries in the EAC have challenges meeting the macroeconomic convergence targets, but Burundi is far from achieving most targets anytime soon. After separating various shocks using VAR, the cross-country correlation estimates show asymmetry of supply and monetary shocks despite external and demand shocks dominating; implying that the region is not an Optimum Currency Area. However, the gravity model shows that monetary unification itself will boost intra-EAC trade to around 60% (a factor of 4) from its current 14%. Thus, between 2006 and 2015, total trade with other EAC countries as percentage of total trade in Burundi averaged 22.5%. It was 30.5% in Rwanda and only 6.1%; 8.4% and 17.4% in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda respectively. The three countries recorded more exports than imports in EAC leading to an overall intra-regional trade surplus balance while Rwanda and Burundi recorded overall intra trade deficit, as they import more from the EAC than they export. As a result, this study reveals that monetary unification may increase trade among member countries in the EAC since the trade creating effects will offset the business cycle shocks.\"","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"54 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90553948","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This relationship is analyzed with the purpose to highlight the existing problems in order to define as clearly as possible the most fruitful alternative ways to benefit the farm as the basic unit of production in agriculture. The farmer is the central economic figure for the organization, operation, and administration of the farm. As such a figure, he must perform his duties in a timely manner and with the highest quality. These duties relate to his self-formation with the concepts of the agricultural market economy. The farmer’s work also determines the progress of the farm in the entire range of problems that are evident towards development. Based on the SSBU indicators, compared to EU countries, we can say that our agricultural farms fall quite short. This evaluation is made based on the performance of farm managers. The study was carried out through surveys conducted in the area. By analyzing the surveys, we conclude that the characteristics of the farmer (age, level of education, background) affect the land market. Young, non-native farmers are more inclined to sell their land rather than to utilize it for agricultural production. In addition, direct contact between the two parties, the buyer, and the seller, involved in a land market transaction are more preferred than negotiations through a third party: realtor or sales office. \"","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"129 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86592467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analytical outcome of the paper has shown that the (ir)rational state of the human being can truly be affirmed when our state of well-being is subjected to circumstances informed by uncertainties/abnormal conditions. While actors like the state (informed by its core agents in the fiscal and monetary sectors) can help support the market system, the human state of (ir)rationality as dictated by the existence of shocks/uncertainties is constantly tested to ensure the best situation is maximised when exposed to difficult situations. In conclusion, the paper has affirmed the need for a rethink of the theoretical proposition to accommodate continuous testing through practical engagement on how human beings can adjust their expectations when faced with uncertainties. \"","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78273997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Concerns about the impact of population growth on the environment and agriculture go back several decades. As the world's population continued to grow, scientists and researchers became increasingly aware of the potential consequences of this growth on food production, resource use, and greenhouse gas emissions. A growing population means higher demand for food. This has increased pressure on agriculture to produce more food, often leading to increased acreage and more intensive farming methods. Intensification involves the increased use of fertilizers, pesticides, and machinery, which can lead to higher greenhouse gas emissions. The goal of this study is to quantify the contribution of agriculture and population growth to carbon dioxide emissions. In this context, 412 papers were found on the Web of Science. Papers in this area often address the role of agriculture in greenhouse gas emissions, including its direct and indirect effects on the carbon cycle. Although most studies were published in 2020, the number of publications has changed over time as regulations in the field have emerged. The data show that the country with the most authors is China, which is recognized as a country with a significant increase in scientific research. \"","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134890843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
