In addition, based on the published literature data, differences are estimated between the above parameters of Barents Sea individuals and individuals from the crab’s natural habitat. In 2019–2022, the Barents Sea red king crab showed a trend of decreasing its fecundity compared to the period of active acclimatization (1995–2003) before commercial exploitation started. In recent years, changes in the reproductive parameters of the Barents Sea red king crab population have increased the similarity of these characteristics to those for native populations from the Pacific region that began to be actively exploited in the early 20th century.</p>","PeriodicalId":54692,"journal":{"name":"Oceanology","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142178020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the modern structure, sediments of the Tyushevskaya basin overlie the material complexes and structures of various terranes and participate in the accretionary structure of the region. The mosaic distribution of these two taxonomic groups was due to high species diversity and low occurrence of most species. Nevertheless, the authors identified patterns in the changes in the species structure of both groups related to the effect of two main environmental gradients (a spatial gradient related to the distance from the bay mouth to the sea and a depth-related gradient), as well as to the patchiness of sediment distribution. In 7 years between the two surveys in Blagopoluchiya Bay the abundance of nematodes increased tenfold, the copepod abundance also increased, but to a much lesser extent. Taxonomic changes in these two groups were observed at both species and family levels, with no differences in the taxa functional structure. It is shown that the dynamics of the contour and profile of the coast can be described in terms of the diffusion equation, which allows for both attenuation and growth of relief perturbations. The conditions are determined under which the self-organization mechanism is activated and the resulting perturbations grow over time. Rhythmic structures of the coastal contour are traditionally associated with waves propagating at a large angle relative to the coastal normal. However, it has been shown that the self-organization of beach cusps and megacusps also occurs in normal coast waves due to the development of circulation cells in the surf zone. The conclusion is substantiated that the formation of nearshore bars under certain conditions is also determined by the self-organization mechanism. The results obtained help to interpret the available observational data regarding the evolution of multiple bar systems.</p>","PeriodicalId":54692,"journal":{"name":"Oceanology","volume":"42 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142178026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The intensification of cyclonic activity over the Black Sea in June–July slowed the formation of summer-type thermal stratification in the studied water area. At the beginning of July, only 13 species of eggs and fish larvae were observed in ichthyoplankton of the Crimean Peninsula, and their average abundance was 29 and 2 ind./m2, respectively. At the beginning of August, summer-type vertical thermal stratification off the coast of the Caucasus had already formed. The number of ichthyoplankton species increased to 20. Activation of atmospheric processes in June–July intensified the intraseasonal wind “pumping” of the upper layer of the sea. The Black Sea Rim Current transformed into a pronounced jet over the continental slope, oriented alongshore, partially extending to the shelf. This did not affect the spawning activity of mass fish species.
