After the restoration of Poland on the political map of Europe, there was a need for a certain foreign policy that could give prosperity to a country de facto deprived of its agency for 123 years. Dmowski argues that the national identity can be protected from the Protestant countries of the West only through defining it as a main guardian of the Latin civilization. He formulated this thesis on the basis of Houston Chamberlain's The Foundation of the 19th Century, Oswald Spengler's The Decline of Europe and numerous works of Feliks Koneczny, who had a fundamental influence on Dmowski. His concept aimed at saving the Latin civilization (Italy, Poland, and France, led by Charles Maurras) from the affects of Jewish civilization and Protestantism in particular, representing the Latin civilization largely due to the reinterpretation of the Protestant countries and its further antagonization. This bloc was purely defensive and wasn't implemented in practice. Speaking about the discourse of modern Polish foreign policy, one can find many allusions to Dmowski, although it should be understood that the Polish government are not endecja (Narodowa Demokracja). So, for example, the “German-Pole” dichotomy, which was used Dmowski, is now in many ways one of those associated with the intra-European crisis. Now, in connection with the events of February 24, Poland potentially has every chance of becoming a hegemon in the Eastern European policy of the European Union, since it fully supports Ukraine and close integration with it. Since Ukraine is already a candidate for EU membership, this will allow it to compete with Germany in EU politics and possibly even result in EU reforms, due to its active pro-Ukrainian policy.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67581457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These new subject areas include the identification of the cognitive foundations of speech practices using not only traditional, but also experimental linguistic methods. The authors also consider it important to employ new linguistic material in the analysis, including the results of the contact of Slavic languages with languages of other morphological types. The article presents experimental evidence of the influence of the native Tatar language, belonging to the Turkic language group, on the processing of grammatical forms of the second Russian language. The study is based on the data from a corpus study of the speech practices of Tatar-Russian bilinguals under Linguistic and Cultural Diversity of Southern Siberia: Interaction of Languages and Cultures Project. The patterns revealed in the analysis of corpus data allowed formulating hypotheses about the specificity of cognitive processing of units in the zones of greatest variation and testing them in a psycholinguistic behavioral experiment using oculographic equipment with eye movement fixation. It was found that deviations from the speech standard of the Russian language manifest themselves both in the production and processing of speech. The most significant result has been obtained in the analysis of cognitive processing of locative constructions. The corpus research has revealed that bilinguals tend to skip a preposition or use a dependent noun in the nominative case. The statistical analysis has shown that the use of a noun in the nominative case with a preposition is processed slightly faster than when the preposition is omitted, so the use of the locative in the nominative case is dictated mainly by the structural features of the Turkic languages than by the omitted preposition.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67581699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is based on 332,781 unique text messages extracted by automated methods using the VK open API. For data processing, the nodes of the PolyAnalyst analytical platform are used: the search query, sentiment analysis, text clustering, summaries, visualization nodes, and a number of nodes for text preprocessing. The data was interpreted on the base of the theoretical and methodological provisions of modern narratoLogy, according to which any communication process can be represented as a form of narration. The authors argue that historical personalities are regularly included in modern national contexts as a component of a single sign space that determines national identity and self-consciousness. Among the most popular are Vladimir Lenin (17,092 references), Josef Stalin (13,830 references), Nicholas II (4,917 references). The main narratives associated with Lenin relate to his faith in the struggle to improve people's Life and the foundation of Soviet Union, later marked by the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Lenin's name remains significant at the everyday Level. Opinions about Stalin are traditionally controversial. The Largest cluster of texts about StaLin reveals the narrative of the Great Patriotic War and the man who Led his country to the Great Victory. The family narrative dominates in the texts about Nicholas II. For some modern Runet users, the Last Russian emperor is a symbol of “Russia that we have lost\" Statistically significant are also narratives about NichoLas II as a saint, a martyr, a bad ruLer, and about renunciation. The study relies on the methods of experimental cognitive psycholinguistics, drawing on the theory of embodied cognition and the bilingual mental lexicon. The solution of the general theoretical problem uses early natural bilingualism, with an increasing dominance of the second language and a gradual shift of the native language to the position of the language of family heritage. This type of bilingualism is currently very common in the world, including various regions of the Russian Federation. In modern states, it is conditioned by unbalanced language functional advancement of the state language. The functionally imbalanced language situation has also developed in the regions of Southern Siberia, in the interaction between the Russian and the Khakass or Tatar languages. However, the functionally dominant state language, Russian, experiences a hidden influence of maternal languages not only on speech practices, but also on deep cognitive processes associated with the perception and cognitive processing of units of the acquired language. As the analysis has shown, the influence of the native language is manifested at the level of perception of even the deepest aspects of the semantics of the second language, which include perceptual and emotional aspects. This effects are discussed in the article in the assessments of tactile perception and emotionality given by native Russian speakers and Tatar-Russian and Khakass-Russian bilinguals in relation to the same set of lexical units. The study was carried out on the material of the psycholinguistic RuTurkPsychLing database designed in the laboratory of linguistic anthropology of Tomsk State University: assessments of the words of the Russian, Tatar, and Khakass languages in terms of “familiarity”, “temperature”, “location in space”, “size”, “emotionality” and “manipulation”. The analysis has shown significant differences in the rating system, manifested both in the value of average ratings and their correlations. While the assessments of the Khakass-Russian bilinguals are closer to the assessments of native Russian speakers, the Tatar-Russian bilinguals show significant differences both in the assessments of temperature perception and its correlations with positive and negative assessments.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67582114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rise of the first family is connected with the land grant of 1385, while the other began to rise when its progenitor assumed the position of the Galician judge in the late 14th – early 15th centuries. The author studied the history of these two families in the 15th century, including family ties, land holdings, relations with neighbours. The Svistelnitskies Zheliborskies continued their history after the 15th century. Several members of this family were Galician Orthodox bishops in the 16th–17th centuries. The family tree of the Skomrokhskies-Novitskies died out in the late 15th century for various reasons. The history of the two families suggests that historians erroneously exaggerated the size of land wealth and the number of Galician boyars in the 13th – 14th centuries and their descendants – Polish gentry of Ruthenian origin. There were no more than a hundred local boyars in the second half of the 14th century. In Galicia of the 15th century, only two families of Rusinian origin can be qualified as large landowners and five or six families – as medium (wealthy) landowners. The vast majority of Rusinian gentry in the 15th century owned one or two small villages or even part of the village.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67582351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After graduation, he taught at the Kyiv Theological Seminary. In 1862, he was transferred to the Kyiv Theological Academy. In 1865–1871, Kryzhanovsky was the head of the Sedlec Educational Directorate. While holding this position, he constantly visited educational institutions of the province. These trips played a big role in clarifying the history and assessing the “Russian question” in Podlasie. Based on sources, personal observations and eyewitness accounts, Kryzhanovsky wrote a number of articles on the history of the church union in Podlasie, the current state of the Uniate issue and education in the region. He analyzed the mistakes made by the Chełm diocese during the “purification of the rite” and subsequent reunification with Orthodoxy. According to the Russian historian Ivan Filevitch, a native of Chełm Land, who did a lot to solve the Chełm question, “the works Kryzhanovsky occupy a completely exceptional place in the literature on the Chełm question, since they contain the only academic and impartial coverage of those two periods of Chełm life, which affect the current Chełm malice: that of exclusively Polish influence with complete isolation from Russia in 1809–1863, which was followed by the rapid turning point, finally re-unifying the Chełm Uniates with Orthodoxy in 1875.” Kryzhanovsky’s works on the Russian Zabuzhie were republished by Ivan Filevich in 1911, when the discussion on the Chełm question intensified. Kryzhanovsky’s research contributed to the dissimination of the information among the Russians, who had known little about the problem and relied mainly on the Polish interpretation. Kryzhanovsky’s works also contributed to the decision to allocate the eastern counties of Lublin (Kholmshchyna) and Sedlec (Podlasie) populated by Rusyns to the Chełm province.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"76 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67582436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem poses certain tasks to both the academic community and public and governmental organizations. In this paper, the author analyses the documents and draws on the basic research and his own field materials to consider the preservation of the language of three Balto-Finnic minorities - the Vepsians, the Votians, and the Izhorians. The research has established that the three indigenous minorities face both common and unique problems of language preservation, related to the demography, socio-economic situation of the region, and social aspects of language functioning. One of the most important current problems for the Vepsian, Votic, and Izhorian languages is the gradual loss of their communicative function. A review of the language use has shown that despite all the efforts of ethnic activists and publishing fiction and educational literature in their native language, the functionality of the languages is reducing both in the public and private spheres. The article also discusses the ways to solve the problem. First, the author draws attention to the programs being implemented to support the native languages of indigenous minorities and assess their effectiveness, in terms of both results and the language representatives' perception. At the same time, the author analyses new possible approaches to language support proposed by representatives of the academic, cultural, and educational community. The general message of the article is to recognize the need to exchange views and experience, conduct research and support a social movement aimed at finding optimal solutions to preserve the languages of indigenous minorities in Russian Federation as well as in Central and Eastern Europe.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67580996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When necessary, the author employed non-Slavic sources to expand the areal zone of Rusian ornithological paremioLogy. Ornithological proverbs make an active group of paremioLogicaL animalisms. According to the previous studies, some of these Rusin lexemes (eg. potya) go back to the ProtoSlavic era, demonstrating the value of the Rusin language material for common Slavic reconstructions. The composition of two lexico-semantic fields was determined based on the lexicographic sources. The analysis of the functional and semantic features and the evaluative spectrum of vocabulary identified two subfields in each field, based on a historically determined change in the understanding of the concept “benefit” by native speakers: a change in the attitude to the interests of the subject (individual or collective). The authors conclude that the vocabulary of the two fields retain traces of the general development of the concept “benefit”, associated in an early and undeveloped consciousness of values with vital needs and common (public) interest, as well as with the consequences of changed production relations that have formed other values correlating with the personal interests and benefits of the subject. The “benefit” for personal interest is interpreted by the public mind as self-interest. Both lexico-semantic fields have borrowed lexemes in their cores, which is associated not only with the significant influence of another cultural and linguistic environment, but also with the general tendency to assign unambiguous linguistic signs, “labels” to complex concepts. The fundamental difference is the absence of the segment “health/healing (of soul and body)” in the Rusin semantic field, while in Russian it is the result of Old Slavonic influence. The revealed differences in the considered lexico-semantic fields are the result of different degrees of their functional load, status, and degree of codification.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67581478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The focus is on the vocabulary of family support (both terms and common lexical units). The social sphere in some countries is connected with the legal system, includes many services, various structures, as well as all kinds of measures and offers. For this reason, when translating specialized texts, it is not only important to know how to translate (translation technique), but also to be aware of extra-linguistic factors, because the translation is not only a language transfer, but also the translation of realities, necessary information, and terminology. The article emphasizes the importance of intercultural aspects when analysing vocabulary through the comparison of social law systems of three German-speaking countries - Germany, Austria, and Switzerland -with those of the Slavic world (Slovakia, Russia, Czech Republic).
