The deceased has a trepanation on his skull and was accompanied by a single object, a silver ring buckle. The newfound grave has undergone radiocarbon and radiological analysis. The discovery of this grave has prompted a revision of previous graves of the Migration Period found in Ludbreg, discovered in previous research, as well as the accidental find of a grave found between Ludbreg and Selnik. Available data on these graves have been analysed and contextualized within the complex historical period of Late Antiquity and the Migration Period of northern Croatia. Analysis of the graves in question has shown that Roman Iovia ceased to function during the 5th century.","PeriodicalId":53906,"journal":{"name":"Vjesnik Arheoloskog Muzeja u Zagrebu","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70665054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Daju se podaci o nalazima i interpretacijama paljevinskih grobova te o mnogo zastupljenijim skeletnim grobljima na redove, iz čega se iščitava brzo prihvaćanje ritusa inhumacije od strane novodoseljenoga slavenskog stanovništva. Na primjeru groblja Kašić – Maklinovo brdo predočene su teškoće u pogledu preciznog datiranja pojedinih grobova i periodizaciji cijeloga groblja. Također, ukazano je na mogućnost interpretacije postupnog prihvaćanja kršćanstva, na temelju grobnih nalaza, već tijekom 8. stoljeća. Prstenje s kršćanskim simbolima pokazuje, primjerice, postupnu kristijanizaciju novodoseljenog stanovništva, koje je bilo u neposrednom doticaju s bizantskim gradovima u Dalmaciji. U oblikovanju ranosrednjovjekovnog identiteta slavenskog stanovništva, osim Bizanta, ističe se uloga kasnoantičkog supstrata i, na kraju razmatranog razdoblja, Karolinga.","PeriodicalId":53906,"journal":{"name":"Vjesnik Arheoloskog Muzeja u Zagrebu","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70665067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First published in 1915 by Constantin Moisil, it remained in oblivion for a long time, at most barely mentioned in various articles. The beginning of the First World War and the entry of Romania in the middle of these events had, as a consequence, the evacuation of the country’s treasure to Russia. After arriving in Moscow, it was returned to the Romanian state in 1956. The coins of the treasure came from both the Ottoman Empire and Hungary. The Turkish coins (the akçe) were issued during the reigns of Sultans Mehmed the Conqueror (1451 – 1481) and Bayezid II (1481 – 1512). The coins issued in Hungary are from the time of kings Matthias Corvinus (1459 – 1490) and Vladislaus II (1490 – 1516). So far, they have not yet been published in full. The buttons (seven) are manufactured of filigree silver wire wrapped in the shape of a ball. The other two items, manufactured of foil, are dress accessories rather common in the Middle Ages, widely circulated both chronologically and territorially. There are also parts of buttons which are not mentioned in the article published in 1916. The adornments consist of two pairs of silver earrings manufactured in the filigree and granulation techniques. In the case of the items from Țifești, they are dated to the second half of the 15th century.","PeriodicalId":53906,"journal":{"name":"Vjesnik Arheoloskog Muzeja u Zagrebu","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70665203","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Među njima je i jedan ranosrednjovjekovni mač bez jabučice, koji je još 1984. godine detaljno objavio Željko Demo kao Petersenov tip S. Ubrzo je uslijedila kritička reakcija Zdenka Vinskog i drugačija atribucija pa daljnje rasprave nije bilo. Međutim, dosadašnje objave obojice autora potiču dodatna pitanja. U nastojanju da se na njih odgovori, u ovome se radu donose rezultati nove analize jegeniškog mača. Oni otkrivaju neke dosad nepoznate ili nezamijećene detalje, ponajviše o sječivu i dršku, koji mijenjaju i znatno upotpunjuju spoznaje o ovome kompleksnom oružju.","PeriodicalId":53906,"journal":{"name":"Vjesnik Arheoloskog Muzeja u Zagrebu","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70664858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This data has been used for constructing the chronology of the coin supply to, and annual coin circulation intensity at, the sites in the set time frame – i.e. from the Valentinian dynasty until the latest late-imperial Roman coin – in order to try to establish the end of the regular coin supply, and thus contribute to better understanding of the socio-economic and administrative changes in the aforesaid area in the late 4th century. All determined coins are catalogued in detail, while data analysis is presented in charts and tables.","PeriodicalId":53906,"journal":{"name":"Vjesnik Arheoloskog Muzeja u Zagrebu","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70664876","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
