This article seeks to partly redress this by examining the use of German, Russian and Ukrainian songs in the production. The article examines the work against the group’s earlier projects as well as exploring the background behind the production and how songs from various different cultures and languages were used to illustrate the Finnish epic, as well considering how effective the strategies were overall.","PeriodicalId":53820,"journal":{"name":"Acta Neophilologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43050120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Szczególną uwagę zwraca na bipolarność tej koncepcji, na której jednym biegunie estetyki znajdują się różnorodne obrazy nieczystości: brud, tortury, zgnilizna. Na drugim biegunie pojawia się estetyka kiczu – unaocznienie „sztucznych rajów”. Z syntezy tych dwóch estetyk tworzy się kategoria pośrednia: „kicz onirycznej makabry”.","PeriodicalId":53820,"journal":{"name":"Acta Neophilologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42056178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is argued that they represent three domains of behaviour identified by archaeologists (the technical domain, the domain of social relations, and the natural history domain), and consequently are equally ultimate. It is also argued that the ability to project knowledge from one domain to the other was the crucial stage in the development of metaphor and abstract thinking, and that this ability (called cognitive fluidity or conceptual integration) was exapted from the physical to abstract domain.","PeriodicalId":53820,"journal":{"name":"Acta Neophilologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47543374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

W analizowanych utworach widoczne są wątki katastroficzne i surrealistyczne, uobecniające się w sposobie ewokowania przestrzeni poetyckiej. Składają się na nią przede wszystkim pełne fantazji wizje, często irracjonalne, wolne od zasad logiki, splecione z elementów na pierwszy rzut oka przeciwnych sobie, pochodzących z odległych pól semantycznych, a wynikające z rozluźnienia logiki związków przyczynowo-skutkowych. W przestrzeni Babińskiego o sile oddziaływania wiersza oraz o spójności komunikatu decyduje swoista logika obrazów zespolonych ciągiem asocjacji wynikających z wyobraźni poety; kluczem jest tu właśnie obrazowość tej twórczości i jej plastyczność, ukierunkowujące odbiór wierszy w kontekście geopoetyki, regionalizmu i katastrofizmu.","PeriodicalId":53820,"journal":{"name":"Acta Neophilologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69369142","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the theoretical part of the paper the author explains the concepts of globalization and westernization before discussing the definition of the lexeme globalization in English, Polish and Russian. In the practical part, such words as mall, strip mall, food hall, food mall, food court, droguerie, discount store are analyzed. Assimilation processes and the registration of new lexis in dictionary sources (are used to) demonstrate the mechanism of the impact of progressing globalization processes on the language – the gradual transition from foreign realities and an unknown word to the assimilation of these realities together with the names. The dynamic changes in the language system are caused by the dynamic changes that the modern world is undergoing. The analysis is conducted on material from English, Polish, Russian and – partly – Ukrainian.","PeriodicalId":53820,"journal":{"name":"Acta Neophilologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43884986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Peltzer wie sich der naturalistic turn auf die Produktion wie Rezeption von Literatur auswirkt. Dabei fungieren die Paradigmen der verkörperten Aktivität und die Fähigkeit zum Hervorbringen einer Welt (Varela u.a. 2013) als Schlüsselbegriffe. Gefragt wird danach, auf welche Weise sich das Konzept der Verkörperung im literarischen Text manifestiert, insbesondere in Hinsicht auf das Verhältnis der erzählenden Instanz zur erzählten Wirklichkeit. Zu diesem Zweck werden zentrale Passagen des Romans, in denen das Wahrnehmungsgeschehen des erzählenden Subjekts thematisiert wird, vor dem Hintergrund dieser Fragestellung untersucht.","PeriodicalId":53820,"journal":{"name":"Acta Neophilologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45520890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The power couple escapes from their previously distinct and usually dubious renditions to perform a new function that serves the nation-building of a reviving civilization. The political and religious inclinations of the anonymous author are visible in their almost impeccable conduct towards their sovereigns, God, and themselves. The article analyses the unique presentation of the two in the light of the political and social circumstances of the waning of the Middle Ages in Britain and contrasts them with a short analysis of other medieval portrayals of the couple.","PeriodicalId":53820,"journal":{"name":"Acta Neophilologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46931787","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
