Este artigo foi desenvolvido a convite da Revista FLORESTA e da coordenação do curso de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Florestal da Universidade Federal do Paraná em comemoração ao cinquentenário do programa. Trata-se de um artigo apresentando parte dos resultados da tese intitulada “Gestão da atividade não madeireira na Mata Atlântica no litoral do estado do Paraná”, desenvolvida na linha de pesquisa Economia e Política Florestal, sob a orientação do professor Vitor Afonso Hoeflich. A tese foi desenvolvida no período de março de 2014 a março de 2018 em parceria com o Instituto de Florestas do Paraná (IFP) e a Empresa Brasileira de Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural (EMATER), escritório de Curitiba e Guaratuba. A Mata Atlântica presente no município de Guaratuba é protegida em sua totalidade pela Área de Proteção Ambiental de Guaratuba. Populações tradicionais que têm o extrativismo intrínseco aos seus costumes, habitam esta região, onde uma boa gestão depende da boa governança. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar o nível de percepção atual dos princípios de boa governança florestal. A coleta de dados foi baseada na aplicação de questionário baseado no método SERVQUAL buscando refletir características predominantes na governança florestal dos principais atores-chave. As três seções do método SERVQUAL foram substituídas pelos pilares de boa governança e as dimensões de qualidade foram substituídas pelos princípios de boa governança florestal. Em todos os constructos medidos, bem como nas variáveis individuais, o nível de percepção atual se apresentou muito abaixo do nível mínimo aceitável, tanto em cada um dos pilares como em todos os princípios de boa governança. Nenhum aspecto estudado atende ao nível mínimo desejado com relação ao estado de governança, seus pilares e princípios, demostrando a real necessidade de melhorias em todo o processo, sendo urgente a melhoria de todo o processo de gestão da área.","PeriodicalId":53573,"journal":{"name":"Floresta","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46750378","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So the goal of this study was to evaluate the employment of volumetric equations and form factor to estimate the wood volume of native species from the Amazon biome. Two hundred nineteen trees, distributed in eleven species, were cut down and dragged to the storage patio for scaling by the Smalian method. Eight mathematical models were tested with simple and double entries, whose independent variables were their DBH and diameter at commercial height. The dependent variables were the commercial volume outsidebark, by species and for the mix of species. The statistics were analyzed alongside a graph for the observed and estimated volumes, and a graph for the residual dispersion and the average residual. The form factor was calculated both by species and for the mix of species. In general, the model that resulted in the best estimative was the Schumacher-Hall method. The same can be observed for the mix of species. The average form factor was 0.7978, differing from the established by the legislation, which is equal to 0.7.","PeriodicalId":53573,"journal":{"name":"Floresta","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44041239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The EO were obtained by hydrodistillation and its components were identified by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and quantified with flame ionization detection (GC-FID). For the evaluation of antifungal activity, the mycelial growth index (MGI) and the mycelial growth inhibition (GI) of BS were determined at concentrations of 1, 2 and 5 µL.mL-1, and 0.25; 0.5 and 1 µL.mL-1 for MN1 and NM2. The yield of EOs was 2.29% (BS), 0.14% (NM1) and 0.17% (NM2). The major components of BS EO were eucalyptol (63.44%) and β-caryophyllene (13.68%), from NM1 were bicyclogermacrene (16.14%) and α-pinene (15.93%), and for NM2, α-pinene (19.04%) and sabinene (16.66%). EO NM1 (1μL.mL-1) showed the best result for antifungal activity, inhibiting about 57.55 ± 0.68 % of P. sanguineus growth and 58.82 ± 0.78 % in the test with G. trabeum.","PeriodicalId":53573,"journal":{"name":"Floresta","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47420380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(ii) Which meteorological variables, among temperatures (minimum, mean and maximum) and precipitation, influence the phenophases? Phenological data were correlated with precipitation and minimum, mean and maximum temperatures of the study period. Variations in the intensity of the phenophases were detected between the years analyzed. Correlations with temperatures were identified for some phenophases during the study period. The species showed similar phenological behavior in vegetative phenophases, but variations in the intensity of the phenophases were detected between the years analyzed, which may be responses to annual temperature and precipitation variations. With the obtained data of correlation between the phenophases and the meteorological variables, it was possible to conclude that different meteorological signals are felt by the plants to express their phenophases. It seems that there is a tendency for temperatures to be an important factor that regulates plant phenology, but that the monitoring period may also influence these factors","PeriodicalId":53573,"journal":{"name":"Floresta","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47391672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the survey of the volume data, nineteen plots of 40.0 x 15.0 m (600 m²) were installed in conventional planting and fifteen plots of 25.0 x 32.0 m (800 m²) in silvopastoral planting. All tree diameters and heights of each plot were measured. The hypsometric relationship models were obtained using the Stepwise method and the trees were cubed using the Smalian method. The volumes were separated into assortments, according to the sales options for the local market. The financial analysis considered cash flows from the year of implementation until the cutting age (7 years), considering the costs spent for the formation and maintenance of the forest throughout the cycle, discounted at an interest rate of 6.75% per year and the volume sold at market value, considering standing wood, at the end of the cycle. The following were evaluated: net present value, equivalent annual value, internal rate of return, expected value of land and average cost of production. The two production systems were considered economically viable for the suggested 7-year rotation, however the silvopastoral system showed results that demonstrate greater financial viability caused mainly by the lower cost of implementation and maintenance, and to the greater volume of the assortments with greater added value (S1 and S2).","PeriodicalId":53573,"journal":{"name":"Floresta","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46667337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The tree species have adaptations to develop under such stress conditions. The sclerophylly is a response to environments with multiple stresses. In the mangrove forests, these stresses are induced mainly by salinity, frequency of tidal influence, soil waterlogging, and nutrient limitation. The aim of the study was to establish if the degree of sclerophylly, expressed in leaf morphology and nutrient contents in tree species of mangroves is associated with edaphic and salinity conditions. The study was performed in one mangrove at Paraná state, Brazil, where two plots were sampled (fringe and interior). Leaves of 15 individuals of each species (Avicennia schaueriana, Laguncularia racemosa and Rhizophora mangle) for each plot (fringe and interior) were collected for chemical and morphological analysis. Soil samples adjacent to each selected tree were collected to perform fertility analyses. The fringe soils samples present higher carbon and organic matter, C:P ratio, pore water salinity and sand predominance. The specific leaf area (SLA) showed that species have sclerophyllous leaves in different degrees: L. racemosa > R. mangle > A. schaueriana. The different degrees of sclerophylly found among the studied species and among plots indicated that each species has its own strategies and that they manifest themselves distinctly in morphological and physiological terms, even when developing under similar environmental conditions.","PeriodicalId":53573,"journal":{"name":"Floresta","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46378514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The methodological option was for a literature survey, in exploratory and explanatory modalities, with a qualitative approach. The studies were carried out in articles and in norms dedicated to the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biomes. The study of the Atlantic Forest covered the Brazilian territory and the study of the Cerrado biome, as it respects general rules for the protection of native vegetation, was limited to the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais, which have specific protection rules. From the researched, it was observed that the protection given to the vegetation inserted in the Atlantic Forest biome through Law n°. 11,428, of 2006, extends to the vegetation inserted in the Cerrado biome when it is characterized as typical forest formations of the Atlantic Forest biome, considering, mainly, the exposed in the Federal Constitution of 1988, which recognizes the Atlantic Forest as a national heritage and its use must ensure the conservation of the environment in which it is inserted.
