This article presents the most relevant aspects of the progress and the experiences of countries aiming at the construction and implementation of these technologies. It also quotes studies that include the advances of countries seeking to contribute to the decrease of greenhouse gas emission or that due to their geographic and environmental conditions are attempting to improve the access and the quality of the electric energy generation, involving especially remote communities that could hardly connect to the national power grid because of techno-economic reasons. These renewable energy studies could lead off to evaluate the impact of clean energy in the global energy supply and demand. Although in general, these technologies require high investments hardly competitive with traditional energy, with the support of stable policies and government subsidies, these become a choice that grows exponentially every day concerning efficiency and the reduction of costs, which can build trust in new investors.","PeriodicalId":53420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Engineering Applications","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48393634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Remote sensing data have an undoubted advantage in mapping the forest cover of territories. The paper compares six trained classification algorithms in order to select the best Sentinel 2A image for a typical forestry in the Baikal region. The conducted comparative analysis has included comparison of the classification accuracy by parametric and nonparametric methods with the default parameters set in the ENVI software. The training sample (Samples data) has been created based on forest management materials. The overall accuracy and the Cohen's kappa coefficient have been used to assess general performance of each algorithm. The accuracy of mapping individual vegetation classes has been assessed using the accuracy of the producer and the user and their combination of F-score. The results of the study can be used when choosing a method for classifying forest vegetation in the Baikal zone and other similar areas by satellite imagery in order to predict forest fire danger.","PeriodicalId":53420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Engineering Applications","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44592465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main purpose of this study is the modeling of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) that can be utilized to analyze various operational strategies in order to recover biogas from Maize Waste (MW). The production of methane is the go of this paper, which requires the inclusion of biological and Physico-chemical models in order to describe the whole process of methanization. One of the best choice in the modeling of such biological issues is the phenomenological model of Anaerobic Digestion (AD), which is the most complete model for wastewater treatment. This model is called ADM1, and it is an integrated model that describes very well the transformation of the Organic Matter (OM) into soluble components, then into biogas as the final phase of this biological conversion. The modeling tools for anaerobic degradation make the subject of this study. The completion of the ADM1 model is done by the resolution of systems of Differential Equations (DE) by a numerical method. In this study, the Runge-Kutta method is used to resolve the ADM1 model.","PeriodicalId":53420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Engineering Applications","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45533874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this situation, the problem can be solved only in anticipation of a catastrophic phenomenon, which is possible only when developing a methodology for assessing, monitoring, and predicting forest fire dangers. The purpose of this article is to develop a methodology for assessing, monitoring, and predicting forest fire dangers using an atmospheric-soil measuring complex, which provides information on the meteorological parameters and some data on soil in the control zone of a forest fire situation. The structure of the instrumental network for monitoring environmental parameters in order to forestall forest fires is proposed. Criteria for assessing forest fire dangers have been developed using data from the atmospheric-soil measuring complex located at one of the stations in the Republic of Buryatia. Typical results of assessment, monitoring, and predicting forest fire danger using these data are presented. Recommendations are proposed for the implementation of the methodology under consideration in the practice of forest fire protection.","PeriodicalId":53420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Engineering Applications","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44311348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
