To achieve this goal, the researcher used a quantitative descriptive research design where the population was 113 students, and the sample was taken using the Simple Random Sampling technique to 23 students in the Fourth semester of STBA-PIA Medan T.A. 2020/2021 as the sample of this research. The instrument and data collection technique used is to give test questions to the sample. The validity of this study uses content validity, and the calculation of the test questions for each word is 10 questions using the KR-20 Formula. The reliability value of the reqing adjective test instrument is high, it is 0.612 and the reliability value of the rexin adjective test instrument is also high, it is 0.638. Analysis of students' ability test results in using reqing adjectives shows that from the range of values the highest score obtained is 100 and the lowest score is 50, the mode and median values are 70, the standard deviation value is 15 and the average value is 71.74 which is included in the sufficient competent category. While the results of the student's ability to use the adjective rexin show that from the range of values the highest score obtained is 100 and the lowest score is 40, the mode and median values are 70, the standard deviation value is 14 and the average score is 72.61 which is included in the in the fairly competent category. This study aims to (a) find out the signs that found in “Imperfect: Karir, Cinta dan Timbangan” film and (b) describe how the signs interpreted in “Imperfect: Karir, Cinta dan Timbangan” film. This reasearch uses descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken from words and phrases which are collected from ‘Imperfect: Karir, Cinta dan Timbangan’ film script. The results shows that there were 15 signs found in Imperfect: Karir, Cinta dan Timbangan film. Timbangan (balance) as the most frequent signs was about 8 data such as: stranded whale; stairs vibration; power head waste; eating tissue; broccoli hair; remember your thigh; you are so fat ya, but it’s OK it’s fresh; and both of you are so different, even you are sisterhood, followed by Cinta (love) with 4 data namely: moles; stretch mark, reduce the rice; and use sunblock, and 3 data for Karir (career) such as pregnant; round face; and she is so old school. The signs includes in Karir (career) when it relates to the development, growth, and progress of someone’s job/profession. The signs that associate to Cinta (love) connects to the deepest someone’s emotional and interpersonal affection. The signs Timbangan (balance) that have a correlation with someone’s weight and physical condition or appearance. Timbangan (balance) were realized by the utterance that refers to physical condition and closely to mock. Cinta (love) associate to the word, gesture, or utterances that express a love or deepest personal affection. Karir (career) was described by a simple word to mock that closely sounds sarcastic and exaggerating. Quantitative descriptive research is conducted on 40 students whom are both the population and sample through saturated sampling technique. The instrument created to collect the required data for analysis is a test with 25 questions. Content validity is utilised, and the reliability coefficient of each question in the instrument with KR-20 formula is 0.734, meaning the instrument has highly reliable. The results of the study found as many as 12 types of figures of speech used, namely 比喻 (bǐyù) makes abstract things seem concrete, visualizes things more generally, 比拟 (bǐnǐ) gives a clear impression, helps readers understand the conveyed feelings, 夸张 (kuāzhāng) evokes strong resonance strong and imagination, accentuates elements and characteristics in the novel, 婉曲 (wǎnqū) makes it easier to accept what is written, 对偶 (duì'ǒu) gives a strong sense of rhythm and focused meaning, helps readers draw conclusions effectively, 排比 (páibǐ) increases language momentum and expression effect, emphasizes meanings, 层递(céngdì) deepens understanding and impression, 顶真 (dǐngzhēn) gives fluent expression, fresh writing style or unique writing form, 对比 (duìbǐ) accentuates thoughts, 反复 (fǎnfù) emphasizes main thoughts, written in order , has a strong sense of rhythm, 设问 (shewèn) captures attention and guides the readers’ mind, 反问 (fǎnwèn) evokes feelings. Therefore, the influence of the native language on English pronunciation is seen as an obstacle for Indonesian EFL learners. In Second Language Acquisition (SLA) it is classified as language transfer. Selayarese language as one of the native languages existed in South Sulawesi Province also gave positive and negative transfer towards English pronunciation. It was verified through a qualitative case study employed towards 20 students from XI IPA 5 at SMAN 1 Selayar. Several methods were undergone to obtain the data namely questionnaires and students’ recording. The result of the study revealed that Selayarese language gave major negative transfer towards English vowel /æ/ and clusters /bl/. The subjects of the study were 30 students of HTN (hukum Tata Negara) class which were at second semester. By using qualitative design, the data were collected through observation, and giving questionnaire. Moreover the researcher administered pre-test and post-test to the students in the way measuring how the KWL strategy brings improvement in students reading comprehension. It was found that the mean score in cycle 1 was increasing, from 50,50 to 75,83 and in cycle II, the mean score was 85,67. Furthermore The result of observation and questionnaire given to students showed that students became more understand about the text read and more enthusiast and the class activity become more fun and enjoyable. One of the positive things from the impact of technological developments to support the teaching and learning process is the use of technology-based learning media such as making interesting videos and uploading them to YouTube. YouTube videos can be repeated and can be accessed anywhere if the device and internet network support. YouTube videos were used in this study as a learning media to improve students’ grammar ability. The sudents in this study are the first semester majoring accounting at Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Indonesia. The total number of students in this Classroom Action Research (CAR) is 30 students. She owns material that is known as \"Roast.\" It is used for a specific person on the show. A roast consists of an insult, which is the background of this research. This kind of comedy can be found on TV programs or Youtube videos that contain comedy content because they get special attention from the viewers. Besides that, many films featured comedians, particularly stand-up comedians. They can use comedy to not only make people laugh but also to criticize, deliver messages, and capitalize on unrest. In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative research as the method of the research. The analysis used the theory of Arthur Asa Berger. In this theory, Berger said that there are 45 indicators of humor, but the researcher just used insult as one indicator to focus on this research. The researcher wants to analyze the use of insults in the Roast Stand Up Comedy Show in a political context from Youtube. The research results show that using insults can be humorous because it can make the audience laugh. Furthermore, the show was served in good humor but not for serious insults in front of politicians. Thus, they not only entertain the audience but also deliver messages or criticism directly to the politicians. This paper takes \"Send You a Little Red Flower\" as the research object. The purpose of this research is to analyze the rhetorical devices used in the movie \"Send You a Little Red Flower\" and find out the application factors of rhetoric. According to the theory of rhetoric as the theoretical basis, this paper uses qualitative research and literature method for research and investigation. The results of the study show that there are 12 types of rhetorical devices in the film, namely: metaphor, analogy, borrowing, exaggeration, rhetorical questioning, parallelism, contrast, repetition, questioning, duality, loopback, and layering, among which repetition accounts for the most important. The application factors of using rhetoric include objective and subjective factors that affect the script of the film, making the language expression of the film more vivid and vivid, highlighting the image of the characters, and emphasizing a certain emotion of the speaker.
