Methodology – The method used in this study is qualitative, using a descriptive approach. This study analyses and explains the governance strategy of Padang City in reducing unemployment. Data collection techniques were used using interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research instrument consists of interview guidelines, SWOT questionnaires, and documents. The analysis technique used is SWOT analysis. Findings – The Padang City Government has made reducing unemployment a key target by reconstructing the organizational structure of the Manpower and Industry Office to improve effectiveness and efficiency. There was an increase in budgets and training facilities for developing labour quality, which received an enthusiastic response from the workforce. However, several challenges still exist, such as inadequate cooperation with the private sector, management information systems that are not optimal, the availability of inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and difficulties in reaching large areas in Padang City. Originality/Novelty – This research focuses on the strategies implemented by local governments and the inhibiting factors in their implementation. It provides an in-depth understanding of the challenges and how to overcome them. Implications – Developing efficient management information systems, investment in technology, and local collaboration is critical in tracking labour force data and assessing programs—adequate facilities and infrastructure, larger budget allocations, and support skills training. Strategic partnerships with industry and increased information and support to job seekers ensure the suitability of training to market needs. In line with this, coordinated national policies and long-term strategies provide a consistent framework for local interventions.","PeriodicalId":53010,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Business and Islamic Economics","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135486908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology – This study used a quantitative approach. The data used is secondary in reports on regional original income realization (2019-2022). The population used is the original income data from the Regency / City in Banten Province. The sample used in this study is data on the original revenue receipts of districts/cities in Banten Province from 2019 to 2022, using purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis and metric difference tests, namely paired sample t-test difference tests. Findings – There is no difference in Local Original Revenue receipts before and after implementing the District/City Government Transaction policy in Banten Province. Although there is no significant difference, there needs to be an in-depth evaluation of the implementation of the policy. Originality / Novelty – Although electronification focuses on Banten Province and provides a specific context that has not been explored much in previous literature, it combines PAD analysis before and after the implementation of electronification policies to provide a comprehensive picture of the impact of these policies. Implications – Further evaluation of the implementation of this policy needs to be done. Investment is needed in training and empowering Human Resources (HR) to support technology effectiveness while maintaining public trust in electronic transactions and preventing unethical practices.","PeriodicalId":53010,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Business and Islamic Economics","volume":"205 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135487505","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology – The study employed secondary data from all the countries within the Sub-Saharan African countries region for the period of nineteen years, with the exclusion of South Sudan due to insufficient data; all the data was sourced from the World Bank Database and was analyzed via the use of fixed effects regression based on the nature of the study (i.e., Panel data). Findings – This study's findings revealed that IQ and HDI are statistically insignificant in the economic growth of the SSA region. Originality/Novelty – The study covered the existing gaps by adequately and sufficiently measuring the institutional quality and human capital index's role on the stated region's economic growth. Implications - – The study, therefore, recommends that various authorities should enhance both health and educational systems, allocating adequate resources to both sectors to foster economic growth, and there should be proper monitoring and evaluation measures to curtail the corruption and insecurity within this region.","PeriodicalId":53010,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Business and Islamic Economics","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135487756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, the abundance of natural resources is an advantage if the government can use it well. The efforts made by the government are to improve the quality of human resources, including three indicators, namely healthy living, education, and decent living standards. However, it is accompanied by problems regarding gender discrimination that often occurs in various countries; this discrimination is often experienced by women, ranging from being objects of exploitation, subordination, violence and discrimination in all sectors. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Human Development Index and Gender Development Index on economic growth and the distribution of economic growth in ten provinces on the island of Sumatra in 2018-2021. Methodology – This research uses Static Panel Data Regression analysis tool and economic growth mapping using ArcGIS Findings – The results of this study show that life expectancy and Income per capita have a positive and significant effect on economic growth. Meanwhile, the Mean Year of School variables and gender development index do not affect economic growth. Based on the results of mapping the distribution of economic growth, the area with the highest economic growth is North Sumatra Province. Then the area that has the lowest economic growth is Bengkulu Province. Originality/Novelty – The novelty in this study is mapping the distribution of economic growth for ten provinces on Sumatera Island with the results of the constant effect of panel data regression output. Implications – This research is still limited to the role of human resource development on economic growth and has not examined other variables that can affect economic growth. So that future research can use a different point of view on human resource development on economic growth.","PeriodicalId":53010,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Business and Islamic Economics","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135486909","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
