Aveiro, Edgar Ortega Filartiga","doi":"10.18004/RDN2019.0011.01.039-055","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18004/RDN2019.0011.01.039-055","url":null,"abstract":"Introduction: the daily urinary excretion of sodium (Natriuria) reflects the consumption of salt in the diet and this has been already related from the Anglo-Saxon literature with arterial hypertension; and more recently with metabolic alterations such as overweight and obesity; therefore it is deduced that it would be a relevance determinant in the study of cardic-brain-vascular diseases. Objectives: to determine the relationship between urinary sodium excretion, blood pressure and BMI in young adults of the “Hospital Nacional de Itauguá”. Material and methods: prospective, descriptive, observational study with analytical components carried out in adults-young inpatients and staff of the Medical Clinic service of the “Hospital Nacional” in 2018. Results: the average age was 35 ± 11 years. Female patients predominated (62%). The incidence of arterial hypertension was 66%, overweight was observed in 40% and obesity in 30%. The average of Natriuria was 8.8gr / day (SD: ± 0.8 g / day) that would correspond to the daily salt content in the diet of the individuals studied and its correlation with both systolic blood pressures (r = 0.34) as diastolic (r = 0.34) and the BMI (r = 0.60) yielded positive data with p <0.01. Conclusion: the consumption of salt was almost double that recommended and varied slightly with the last report made in our country and with Rev. Nac. (Itauguá) 2019;11(1):39-55 10.18004/rdn2019.0011.01.039-055 neighboring countries. A positive relationship between high salt intake and exposed clinical parameters was demonstrated, the same correlation was seen both for systolic and diastolic pressures and a higher relationship with BMI, presenting a trend line that supposes a higher BMI higher natriuria and consequently higher blood pressure.","PeriodicalId":52884,"journal":{"name":"Revista del Nacional Itaugua","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48895578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objetivos: determinar la frecuencia de anemia ferropénica en pacientes internados con insuficiencia cardiaca y describir sus características demográficas y clínicas de los pacientes. Metodología: observacional descriptivo prospectivo de corte transversal. Se incluyó a pacientes varones y mujeres, mayores de 18 años de edad, portadores de insuficiencia cardiaca, internados en el Hospital Nacional (Itauguá, Paraguay) en años 2017-2018. Se midieron variables clínicas y laboratoriales. Se consideró anemia ferropénica a todo valor de hemoglobina ≤13 g/dL en hombres y ≤ 12 g/dL en mujeres con ferritina <100 μg/L. Resultados: se incluyeron 152 pacientes con edad media 68±14 años y siendo 57% del sexo masculino. Entre las comorbilidades predominó la hipertensión arterial (95%). Se encontró 72% de sujetos con anemia ferropénica, siendo la frecuencia superior en los grados II y III de la clasificación funcional de la NYHA Conclusión: La frecuencia de anemia ferropénica en pacientes con IC fue 72% y predominó en el sexo masculino y con clase funcional II-III. Cardiovascular disease associated with atherosclerotic events is one of the causes of morbidity and mortality in patients with RA. Objective: to determine the frequency of dyslipidemia and other cardiovascular risk factors in patients with RA who consult the Day Hospital of the National Hospital of Itauguá in the period January 2018-March 2018. Material and Method: descriptive observational study of transverse section. We included 45 patients with RA who were determined serum lipid profile. The results were classified according to the modified report in 2004 of the Third Adult Treatment Panel (ATP III). In addition, the activity of the disease, the body mass index, the associated cardiovascular risk factors (hypertension, diabetes mellitus, sedentary lifestyle, use of corticosteroids) were determined. The activity of the disease was not statistically significant with dyslipidemia (p 0.6) but the use of prednisone was statistically significant in relation to the presence of low HDL-c. Conclusion: the frequency of dyslipidemia was 38%, the main associated risk factors were sedentary lifestyle and overweight / obesity.","PeriodicalId":52884,"journal":{"name":"Revista del Nacional Itaugua","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43398607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
