Five proportions of WBA as sand replacement in concrete and five specimens of built-up CFS stub columns infilled with WBA are produced in this study. There are four parts of the testing conducted: material properties of CFS, material properties of WBA concrete, mechanical properties of the connection, and mechanical behavior of built-up CFS stub columns. The result shows that the specimen with 25% WBA is reported to have the highest value of compressive strength in the material properties of WBA concrete and the mechanical behavior of built-up CFS stub column. The percentage difference of the ultimate load of the built-up CFS column filled with normal concrete and filled with WBA concrete is noted to have a range of 3% to 25%.","PeriodicalId":52314,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Technology Innovation","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47962547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To solve the shortage problem of accessible range, this study proposes a mobility caching placement strategy (MCPS) based sliding window scheme to optimize the latency and throughput of cognitive radio system. The performance parameters of the proposed system are analyzed using energy detection metrics by considering full-duplex communication. By the MATLAB analysis and the evaluation with and without self-interference suppression, the results demonstrate that the entrance inactivity of the MCPS based sliding window is diminished by a factor of 1.9 as contrasted with the existing full-duplex systems. With the improved latency and throughput, the proposed method can avoid the ruinous impacts of drawn-out self-residual suppression more effectively compared to the existing approaches.","PeriodicalId":52314,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Technology Innovation","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49361952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study presents a new model for predicting the condition-based maintenance (CBM) initiation points through vibration measurement in a system of Class I machines. The proposed model follows the accelerated life testing (ALT) procedure. ALT includes the formation of an artificial wear environment in bearings to analyze the resultant system vibrations on system availability. The artificial wear environment created is close to the real industrial situation. The results show that the prediction of the CBM initiation points is based on the established relation between the system availability and vibrations. Furthermore, a relation between the available time for maintenance initiation and different vibration velocities is demonstrated.","PeriodicalId":52314,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Technology Innovation","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49079129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This review focuses on the existing development methodologies for circularly polarized (CP) antennas and their axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) improvement using CMA. To discuss the physical insights related to CP radiation, this study systematically examines different antenna design structures used in previous research. It investigates the impact of modal parameters such as the eigenvalue, modal significance (MS), characteristic angle (CA), surface current, far-field radiation behavior on CP radiation, and ARBW for various antenna designs. In addition, it discusses the comparative analysis of various antenna design approaches in terms of antenna performance parameters such as the operating frequency band, ARBW, and gain. The results show that CMA provides more valuable information for the selection of feed position in antenna designs than the conventional full-wave simulation approach.","PeriodicalId":52314,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Technology Innovation","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48876621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, the depth values are derived from RGB-D images. If the depth information is not available, the values between 0.5 m to 10 m are chosen, and the transmission map is estimated by these values. Secondly, the statistical average background light values of Br = 0.6240, Bg = 0.805, and Bb = 0.7651 have been derived by analyzing 890 images using two methods, namely quad-tree decomposition and four-block division. Finally, the conversion of aerial-to-underwater images is done using the derived values, and the images are verified by computer simulation using MATLAB software. The result indicates that this method can easily generate underwater images from aerial images and makes it easier for the availability of ground truth.","PeriodicalId":52314,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Technology Innovation","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41919292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is developed by combining an overlapped image component series of a large image, which is difficult to be focused on using a normal camera due to a large field of view. Measuring the quality of panoramic images is a challenging task. Therefore, the objectives of this research are to find the attributes of visual quality of panoramic images and to propose predictor variables for a statistical model for the quality of panoramic images of mural paintings. Authors have used a proposed novel method for creating panoramic images of mural painting. In this study, authors researched on the quality attributes of digital images. Accordingly, color balance, noise and distortion were identified as the two most critical factors which affect the overall quality of the panoramic images. Authors visited three temples and captured digital images of mural paintings of large scale using a simple method. Then, panoramic images were created using three methods: the novel method with other two methods, Photoshop (available in the market) and Hugin (open source software). Subjective evaluation was applied through experts in the field of Visual Arts. Participants were asked to rate the quality using four-point Likert scale for color balance, noise and distortion as predictor variables and overall quality as the response variable of panoramic images. Ordinal logistic regression was fitted through Minitab statistical package and the results showed that color balance and noise and distortion are two important attributes for the quality of the panoramic images. Moreover, the collected data fit the model at a higher accuracy. This study aims at enhancing the performance by optimizing three geomechanical parameters of impeller-volute interactions. The present optimization is carried out using the Taguchi method combined with a numerical approach. A comparison between the base and optimized pumps is presented under the design and off-design conditions based on numerical and experimental analyses. The numerical results reveal that, compared to the base pump, the optimized pump shows the improved performance through uniform pressure distribution in the impeller, the reduced low-pressure region towards a blade’s leading edge, and the stable total pressure at the impeller-volute interaction zone. The experimental results suggest that the optimized pump covers a wider range of operation, and its best efficiency point (BEP) is 10%, 5%, and 12% higher in flow rate, head, and efficiency, as compared to the base one.","PeriodicalId":52314,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Technology Innovation","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47433033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As many n-nitrosamines are carcinogenic, they are highly regulated in final rubber articles and during manufacturing process.  2-(Morpholinothio benzothiazole (MOR) is the primary accelerator used in vulcanizing systems. It produces nitrogen toxic gases (nitrogen oxide and amine gas) which are carcinogenic. In this research MOR was successfully replaced with N-tert-butyl-2-benzothiazole sulfenimide (TBSI) accelerator which has no carcinogenic effect. The main objective of this research is to maintain its original properties while replacing MOR with TBSI accelerator.  This study was conducted and test samples were made of bonding rubber compound that is used to make the bonding layer of tyres which is the common part in all type of solid tyres. Physical-mechanical and bonding properties were analyzed for MOR and TBSI added bonding compound samples. Tensile, hardness, density and rheological using Oscillating die rheometer properties were also measured to maintain the quality of the tyre. The property change of bond layer can affects the other tyre layers. So, it can lead to failure of curing process or failure in performance of the tyre during the applications. The TBSI curing characteristics are closer to MOR sample. However other physical properties like hardness and density of TBSI samples were bit lower but they were in the required level as a bonding layer compound. Substitution of MOR by ‘safe TBSI’ compounds are still active as accelerators, but do not form carcinogenic gases.","PeriodicalId":52314,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Technology Innovation","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82965764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Permeability, the way of ingress of water into wood mass, is one of the most variable properties of timber and it further influences nearly all the physical properties of wood. Wood exposed to high humidity conditions or to liquid water during use may be subjected to biological deterioration which makes equilibrium moisture content of wood very important. Equilibrium moisture content is the moisture level where the wood neither gains nor loses moisture since it is at equilibrium with the relative humidity and temperature of the surrounding environment. Sixteen randomly sampled specimens of each of the wood of Sterculia rhinopetala and Albizia ferruginea species (heartwood and sapwood) with dimensions 3 cm x 3 cm x 3 cm were exposed at various relative humidity conditions of 30 %, 45 %, 60 %, 75 % and 90 % in a temperature and humidity-controlled climate chamber. The order of water uptake in terms of percentage volume is arranged from the lowest to the highest. Sterculia rhinopetala heartwood had the lowest uptake per volume with a value of 0.31 %. On the uptake per weight Sterculia rhinopetala heartwood again had the lowest uptake whilst Albizia ferruginea had the highest with a value of 6.77 %. The sapwood of Sterculia rhinopetala had a relatively higher uptake per volume value of 0.53 % and a value of uptake per weight of 0.72 %  compared to the heartwood. The equilibrium moisture content values of Sterculia rhinopetala suggests that it can have minimal dimensional changes when used in both the Southern and the Northern parts of Ghana.\u0000 ","PeriodicalId":52314,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Technology Innovation","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75507486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the availability of corpus analysis technology and large amounts of studies in corpus analysis of texts, studies on corpus-based language teaching and learning, development of language teaching-learning material incorporating corpus analysis technology and techniques by teachers who are non-experts in the field of corpus analysis for classroom teaching has remained an exception. This paper records the personal experience of the researcher as a language practitioner using corpus analysis technology in designing teaching learning material to achieve the objectives of a language course for undergraduates of low English proficiency (LEP) studying in an English medium instruction (EMI) context.
