Based on semi-structured one-to-one discursive interviews, this study's results show that e-prescribing innovative practices modify four domains: 1) introduce techno-care fluctuating dynamics, 2) modify spaces and time barriers to care, c) build socio-tech-med micro-networked connections, and d) create innovative \"technological\" carers. The interdigital carer may support distinctive forms of techno-based senior care in Italy, diffuse e-prescribing culture, and transmediate health objects and services. Careful planning and human-tailored decisionmaking are necessary to normalize e-prescribing socio-tech-med practices and avoid digital health inequalities in pandemic and post-pandemic scenarios.","PeriodicalId":52081,"journal":{"name":"Salute e Societa","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70129017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The lockdown is deemed as an extreme case of familialism, which exacerbates the lack of systemic parenting support, a characteristic of the Italian welfare state. While before the pandemic parents faced highperforming parenting and working models, homeworking and online teaching have made the management of their different roles even harder. This situation has negatively impacted on the mental health of the interviewees, while in parallel reducing parents', particularly mothers', sense of guilt related to the lack of time devoted to their children. Results suggest the need to consider parenting as a social issue, to be addressed with universalistic but also gender specific policies. © 2021 Franco Angeli Edizioni. Given the high levels of intra-regional variation found, it seemed appropriate to also add an analysis by country in order to identify those \"sentinel cases\", given their alert value, which recorded the worst ratio between the infection rates (cases/population) and the lethality rates (deaths/cases). In order to explore the possible reasons behind the problematic coping with the pandemic of these \"sentinel cases\", a conceptual framework for the analysis of vulnerability, resilience and their governance in terms of sustainability of health care systems is developed in the second part, hoping its application could represent a useful contribution for best-practice solutions that could guide the management of future pandemics.","PeriodicalId":52081,"journal":{"name":"Salute e Societa","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48338384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article analyses this process by an international comparison with other Western European countries, highlighting the intensity of hospital bed reduction in Italy, as a fundamental component of NHS rationalisation. Although it was based on solid grounds, international data suggest that hospital bed reduction was probably excessive, depriving the NHS of organisational slack. Moreover, de-hospitalisation would have been matched with a stronger development of primary and community care. The relative shortage of these services, along with the lack of integrated networks between hospital and non-hospital care, explains many difficulties experienced by hospitals in tackling Covid patients. Beyond investments in health care, these elements call to re-think the organisation of health care provision at local level, questioning the purchaser-provider split.","PeriodicalId":52081,"journal":{"name":"Salute e Societa","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47199898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A questa “miopia” collettiva, fa da contraltare il proliferare di studi, volumi collettanei e special issues usciti in questi mesi (Corposanto, Fotino, 2020; Favretto, Maturo, Tomelleri, 2021; Vicarelli, Giarelli, 2021), nel nostro come negli altri paesi (Lupton, Willis, 2021). Contributi che testimoniano un comune senso di impellenza, di necessità, seppure non scevro da una altrettanto condivisa sensazione di disagio nel tentare di cogliere nel suo stesso divenire un fenomeno così complesso, rispetto al quale si è al contempo osservatori e protagonisti. Rivendicano altresì il ruolo pubblico della sociologia in un momento in cui la scena sembra essere il campo esclusivo di microbiologi, virologi, infettivologi ed epidemiologi. Da un lato, infatti, vi è l’esigenza di ripensare le organizzazioni sociali affinché siano più preparate a fronteggiare situazioni analoghe. Dall’altro, occorre favorire processi di resilienza generativa e trasformativa che affrontino quei fattori più distali alla base della vulnerabilità dei nostri sistemi sociali, anche approfittando delle risorse resesi disponibili con il Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (Pnrr). Questo numero monografico di Salute e Società si aggiunge ai lavori che l’hanno preceduto nel voler contribuire a una lettura assieme “multilivello” e “multifocale” (Favretto, Maturo, Tomelleri, 2021), approfondendo la comprensione di alcuni risvolti dell’emergenza sanitaria e sociale. Il volume raccoglie le riflessioni sviluppate nell’ambito del Convegno della sezione di Sociologia della Salute e della Medicina dell’Associazione Italiana di Sociologia dal titolo «Vivere nell’emergenza: la società italiana e il Servizio Sanitario Nazionale di fronte alla pandemia da Covid 19», che si è tenuto online il 14-15 settembre 2020.
