The pattern of fundraising in terms of “number and type of rounds and stages needed” are important. The diverse features and factors that could stem from Fintech business models which can influence success are of the key issues in shaping these patterns. This study applied the top 100 KPMG Fintech startups’ data to extract clusters and fundraising pattern using sequential pattern discovery for each cluster. This led to the extraction of seven distinct clusters using 3 different clustering algorithms from 3 to 7 different rounds of investment for each cluster. The proposed frequent patterns can assist both investors and Fintech startups to show the future fundraising pattern based on their new or current startup cluster type and the ongoing stages of development.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":"13 1","pages":"763-790"},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48094074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The travel industry is a service-oriented industry, and travel agencies can easily reach their customers on social media by transforming their marketing strategies at no extra costs. There are so many options that a travel agency can use to make itself more visible on social media. However, it is very difficult to choose the most suitable option. From this viewpoint, an analytical framework including BWM and fuzzy VIKOR is presented to find the best social media platforms in this study. First, the weights of nine criteria that were identified by the literature survey and expert interviews were obtained using BWM. Then, these weights were incorporated with fuzzy VIKOR for the ranking of social media platforms. During the implementation phase, the managers of a travel agency in Turkey were supported by the proposed framework for the organization. Results indicated that the cost criterion was the most important criterion (0.189), followed by the audience as the second rank (0.158). The results of the framework show that the proposed methodology is valid and can contribute to improving the decision-making process of enterprises and organizations.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":"13 1","pages":"645-672"},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47394189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research also studied the mediating role of trust and organizational commitment in the relationship between SHRM practices and knowledge sharing behavior. Following the positivist paradigm, this research adopted the quantitative research strategy and collected the data from 700 faculty members of leading universities (top ranked by Higher Education Commission) of Pakistan through a self-administered questionnaire. Bi-variate and multi-variate quantitative analyses were used to test the hypothesis and achieve the research objectives. Structural Equation Modeling through Smart Partial Least Square was used to test the entire key hypothesis. The findings revealed that SHRM practices are vital in creating knowledge sharing behavior among faculty members, organizational commitment partially mediates the relationship among the aforementioned variables, while trust completely mediates the relationship between HR practices and knowledge sharing behavior. Thus, this study provides sufficient guidelines for HR policymakers and administration of public universities on how to make faculty members more committed to their institution and to develop the culture of knowledge sharing by adopting SHRM practices, while helping employees to have socio-emotional relationships so that trust can be developed among them.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":"13 1","pages":"565-586"},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46616339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The population consisted of 372 managers and employees, and the sample based on Cochran's formula was equal to 189. The results reveal that SHRM practices and its dimensions have a significant impact on employee retention. Moreover, job engagement has a moderating role in the impact of SHRM and all its dimensions except performance appraisal on employee retention. The findings also indicate of the moderating effect of job engagement in the relationship between SHRM practices and employee retention for three types of job engagement, namely, vigor, dedication and absorption. The association between the demographic variables and the factors also investigated. This study provides an empirical and practical contribution to improving employee retention through job engagement. The theoretical implications, future directions, and limitations are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49453856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the complexity of processes and the presence of undesirable measures in many real world applications, in this study, the relative efficiency and marginal rates of substitution are calculated in two-stage structures including weakly disposable undesirable intermediate measures. Actually, an approach based on the directional distance function is provided for this purpose. Therefore, the effect of the changes of a measure in other measures such as the effect of changes of intermediate factors on the output of the first stage and second stage is measured by maintaining efficiency, and the rate of these changes is calculated. To elaborate in details, marginal rates of substitution in two-stage processes are dealt with using the proposed two-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach while undesirable intermediate components are presented. A real data set is also used to clarify the proposed method herein.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42424912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample used in this study comes from a survey of 225 respondents who are employees of one of the prestigious Mashhad universities. The data was gathered using a questionnaire and analyzed by structural equation modeling with Warp PLS 5. This research verified the direct effect of diversity management on employee innovative behavior. Moreover, results show diversity management predicts employees’ affective commitment and employee engagement. The impact of affective commitment and employee engagement on employees’ innovative behavior was also confirmed. The results show that diversity management, affective commitment, and employee engagement predict each phase of idea generation, idea promotion, and idea implementation. Based on this study, we recommend that human resource practices should institutionalize effective diversity management like training, employment, progression, and promotion. Furthermore, the high level of employee engagement and affective commitment could be considered by universities to increase innovative behavior. The current research addresses a gap in the current literature in the diversity management and innovative behavior context by employing different theoretical bases, including Social Exchange Theory and Institutional Theory.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47818372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Panel data regression models were used to test the hypotheses. The obtained results indicated that four corporate factors, namely real earnings management, predictable earnings management, institutional ownership, and board independence have a significant relationship with the managerial entrenchment. In this study, the mixed index of managerial entrenchment is calculated using the principal component analysis based on four governance mechanisms of the percentage of shares available to the CEO, CEO duality, CEO compensation logarithm, and CEO tenure. This process has made the present study distinct from the previous ones, through which individual indexes were used for evaluating the entrenchment.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":"36 1","pages":"245-272"},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-09-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44052115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Four studies investigated the reliabilities and different types of validities for a scale developed to measure Iranian Implicit leadership Theories (IILTs). Study 1 used a qualitative method to extract the implicit theories of ideal leadership after interviewing 27 experts. The IILTs are represented by a first-order eight-factor model (Inspiring, Supportive, Accountable, Emotionally Mature, Decisive, Self-protective, Deceptive and Narrow-minded), and a second-order two-factor model (Prototypes and Anti-prototypes). In Study 2, exploratory factor analysis was used to identify the factor structure and further refine and examine the internal consistencies of the discovered factors. The analysis proved the factor structure of IILTs. Study 3 tested the convergent and discriminant validities of the developed scale for IILTs, and the results supported the validity of the developed scale. Study 4 investigated incremental and criterion validities via using two variables of LMX and job satisfaction. These studies provide convergent evidence that IILTs is a valid scale to be used in research. Ultimately, future research venues and practical implications are discussed.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":"14 1","pages":"107-140"},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-09-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49100297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One way to handle this problem is by using fuzzy DEA with assurance regions (FDEA/AR) models. There is a common approach in almost all the suggested methods for solving FDEA/AR models. However, in this paper, we show that in some DEA/AR models applying this approach can be led to inappropriate results. Four theorems are given to provide some sufficient conditions for a DMU to be the DEA/AR efficient. These theorems can be used to check the accuracy of the presented methods for solving FDEA/AR models, too. Moreover, a new method for solving a generalized FDEA/AR model that includes established DEA models such as CCR model (Charnes et al. 1978), BCC model (Banker et al. 1984), FG model (Fare and Grosskopf 1985), and ST model (Seiford and Thrall 1990) is proposed. These models are constant, variable, non-decreasing, and non-increasing returns to scale models, respectively. The proposed method is applied to evaluate the performance of manufacturing enterprises.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49049746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We used the annual time series data of Nigeria covering the period 1970-2018. Through advanced econometric techniques, we first of all substantiated stationarity level and co-integration among the scrutinized variables, which is genuinely done for reliable findings. Following that, we applied Gregory and Hansen (1996) co-integration test, Non-linear ARDL as the elasticity estimator and Diks and Panchenko (2006) causality test for the analysis. The Empirical evidence postulates the asymmetric nature of foreign direct investment uncertainty to financial development. We also found a non-linear uni-directional causality running from economic growth to financial development, foreign direct investment uncertainty to financial development, and financial inclusion to financial development. In the end, the authors proposed the needed policy recommendations to strengthen the Nigerian financial sector.","PeriodicalId":51913,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Management Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.4,"publicationDate":"2020-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43874031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
