Dirofilaria can affect the soft tissues of the face, eyes, mammary glands, buttocks. Patients complained of swelling, induration and hyperemia in the soft tissues of the face. Ultrasound was performed, which determined echoes characteristic of helminthic parasites, parasites were removed, the belonging of the macropreparation to dirofilaria type Dirofilaria repens was confirmed by the laboratory of the SES of Krasnodar.Results: the possibilities of ultrasound examination of the eyes and soft tissues were demonstrated, and the characteristic echo signs in dirofilariasis were identified.","PeriodicalId":51864,"journal":{"name":"Radiology Research and Practice","volume":"138 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2022-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73253189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the research, 159 medical histories of children from 5 to 17 years were analyzed: patients had complaints on headache and standard and functional x-ray examination of the cervical spine was prescribed and performed. 59 of those patients also had sonography examination of the vertebral arteries, and in 38 medical histories contained results of functional sonography test (examination of vertebral arteries in the middle and rotation positions of the head).All medical histories of children were divided in 3 groups based on the curvature of the cervical spine (p ≤ 0,01). Assessment of values of mobility indicators in the cervical spine, based on Kolmogorov-Smirnov criteria, revealed normal distributions in all three groups. Comparative analysis of values of the segmental mobility in the cervical spine in all 3 groups didn’t reveal statistically significant differences (p > 0,05). The significant correlation between values of sonography examination of the vertebral arteries, values of functional sonography tests and values of the segmental mobility in the cervical spine was not revealed.The x-ray examination of the cervical spine is not prioritized method of diagnostics in children with headache. Found cases of increasing segmental mobility in the cervical spine had not demonstrated significant change in blood flow in vertebral arteries in children.Prescription of X-ray of the cervical spine must be strictly justified recommendation if patients are children with complaints on headaches.","PeriodicalId":51864,"journal":{"name":"Radiology Research and Practice","volume":"7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76965961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Isolated torsion of these cysts is extremely rare in both children and adults, causing acute pain syndrome and swelling of the scrotum. Due to its rarity and lack of specificity of clinical and echographic manifestations, this condition leads to a delay in the accurate diagnosis of the disease, which is carried out only intraoperatively. The rare case of combined testicular torsion and torsion of a large appendage cyst in a 12-year-old teenager is presented in the publication.","PeriodicalId":51864,"journal":{"name":"Radiology Research and Practice","volume":"31 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2022-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86466235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
