The article presents a rare clinical case of the combined course of chronic mastitis and ductal carcinoma in situ in a 47-year-old female patient who was diagnosed with chronic mastitis during instrumental examination, and only after trepan biopsy and subsequent histological examination, intraductal breast cancer in situ was verified. This may indicate that instrumental methods and techniques are insufficiently informative in diagnosing ductal carcinoma in situ against the background of chronic mastitis.","PeriodicalId":51864,"journal":{"name":"Radiology Research and Practice","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2023-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78721062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Radiation diagnostics is one of the first areas of medicine where AI is being introduced to analyze radiographs and form draft conclusions for the examination. Due to the opaqueness of the decisionmaking process («black box effect») and high error rate, the level of trust of specialists and patients in innovations remains low. In this connection, there is an objective need to create effective legal mechanisms that provide for measures of responsibility for erroneous AI decisions, protecting the rights of doctors and patients in the operation of these programs.","PeriodicalId":51864,"journal":{"name":"Radiology Research and Practice","volume":"42 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2023-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75817826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Clinical and laboratory data (including the Raitan test), results of MRI with non-contrast MR perfusion (ASL-perfusion) of the liver and brain MRI with assessment of the head and neck soft tissues were estimated in a group of patients with DLD. Potentials of assessment of ASL liver perfusion for hepatic encephalopathy and sialadenitis prediction are described in the article. Based on the clinical and laboratory data and results of histopathological analysis of salivary gland biopsies, it was established that sialadenitis in patients with DLD is the result of disturbance of macroorganism resistance; sialadenitis in this context is the inflammatory process of the gland with acinuses atrophy signs, in MRI it forms pictures of the gland enlargement without visible macrostructure changes. The study showed that the integrated approach to observation of patients with DLD (radiologist + gastroenterologist / infectious disease specialist + otorhinolaryngologist / dentist) helps correct of patient monitoring tactics timely and effective.","PeriodicalId":51864,"journal":{"name":"Radiology Research and Practice","volume":"70 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2023-03-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85695674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The MRI data of 159 removed LN were compared with the results of a morphological study of the resected preparations. ROC- analysis (Receiver Operating Characteristic curve) was used to determine the diagnostic performance of threshold values. The test performance was evaluated depending on the area under the ROC curve — the AUC parameter (Area Under Curve). In order to evaluate the prognostic significance of MRI predictors for metastatic involvement of the LN, uni-and multivariate regression logistic analyses were performed. According to the results of multivariate analysis, the configuration index is less than or equal to 1.65, the absence of a signal from the fatty tissue of the hilum of LN, and perinodular edema are the most prognostically significant criteria for metastatic involvement of the LN (p < 0.05).","PeriodicalId":51864,"journal":{"name":"Radiology Research and Practice","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2023-02-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87772327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
