At the same time, they are confronted with market issues such as consumer behavior inertia and decreasing effectiveness of conventional promotion strategies. In the article, we analyze economic, institutional, consumer, and communication barriers to the development of wine brands in Southern Russia. The theoretical framework of the study covers the principles of institutional and narrative economics, marketing, sociology of consumption, and visual sociology. The research methods include content analysis and analysis of marketing information. The empirical data consist of economic statistics of the wine industry from 2018 to 2022 and the results of the analysis of 290 wine product lines manufactured by 63 enterprises in the Southern Federal District. High speed and ambivalent dynamics of institutional change can be observed in the Russian wine industry. Using the empirical data, we have identified three communication strategies (global, foreign, and local) for wine brand positioning. The results of the research show that reliance on global and foreign strategies is a common trend in Krasnodar krai, the Republic of Crimea, and the city of Sevastopol, while producers in Rostov oblast pursue the local positioning strategy. The research results contribute to the understanding of the institutional and consumer determinants of the wine market development in Russia, associated with producers’ orientation towards global and foreign positioning strategies.","PeriodicalId":517949,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets","volume":"13 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140285816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study attempts to identify the strategic avenue for governing one of Russia’s regions, namely the Republic of Crimea, in the context of moral imperatives. Methodologically, the work relies on a set of scientific concepts, such as state (regional) governance and new public management, as well as the provisions of humanistic, evolutionary, institutional and economic theories. The research methods are systematization, content analysis, analogical reasoning, and comparativeanalytical approach. The empirical evidence covers regulations and governmental programmes by the RF Government, executive authorities of the Republic of Crimea, and materials of the Simferopol and Crimea Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church for 2005–2023. The paper presents a scientific explication of the moral paradigm in the context of state (regional) governance. We have substantiated a strategic direction of Crimea’s socio-economic development based on moral principles, including: dominance of the recreation sector generating a multiplier effect for related industries in the region; transformation of the functions and structure of the Crimean economy due to the special military operation in Ukraine and the rise in the moral component; the growing importance of healthcare and tourism industries in Crimea’s economic space. The findings of the research contribute to the development of theoretical and methodological provisions of state and municipal governance.","PeriodicalId":517949,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets","volume":"7 18","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140397350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study proposes a method for assessing the level of resilience of machine-building companies depending on the type of their strategic behaviour. Methodologically, the research rests on the theory of the firm and strategic management theory. Structural and logical analysis, expert assessments, matrixing, statistical and financial analysis were used as research methods. The empirical evidence is the data from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) and the SBIS counterparty verification system. We clarify the concepts of resilience and strategic behaviour of a machine-building enterprise and propose our own definition of resilience. We distinguish between four types of strategic behaviour of enterprises when contacting the external environment, namely the maximum control possible, constructive interaction, adaptation with elements of control, and forced adaptation. A relationship was discovered between the level of resilience and the type of strategic behaviour of an industrial enterprise. The findings were tested using the case of four machine-building plants specializing in the production of lifting equipment. We found significant differentiation in the level of resilience of the enterprises under study and established which of the four types of strategic behaviour was typical of each. This will allow them to exercise a more reasonable approach when instituting their development strategy amid turbulence.","PeriodicalId":517949,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets","volume":"5 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140509865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the service industry, where mistakes are inevitable, it is beneficial for businesses to have tolerant customers. For this reason, it is necessary to learn how tolerance occurs in customers. To that end, the article examines the effect of customer-company fit (CC Fit) on customer tolerance based on the idea that customers will be tolerant to businesses that are compatible with their values. We also examine the moderating role of gender in the effect of customer-company fit on tolerance. The relationship between the variables in the research is based on the congruity theory that suggests that customers are oriented towards fit-seeking and, when perceiving congruence, they will exhibit positive attitudes and behaviours. In the study, which has a quantitative design, the data were obtained from 231 customers of restaurants in a province of Turkey, reached by convenience sampling method. The hypotheses were tested using the PROCESS macro for SPSS. The analysis results reveal that СС fit positively affects customer tolerance. Therefore, it can be inferred that when service failures are encountered, customers who perceive fit with the business can tolerate the failure. Another finding of the study is that gender has a moderating role in the effect of customer-company fit on customer tolerance. Accordingly, male customers in particular turned more to tolerance behaviour with the perception of fit.","PeriodicalId":517949,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140509833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The unevenness of economic space, regions’ openness, specialization and industrial efficiency cause differences in both economic growth and the state administration system. The article pioneers and tests a theoretical-methodological approach to assessing shock robustness of single-industry regions in the context of a harsh foreign economic environment and justifies approaches to adjusting regional development policy of the state. In the paper, shock robustness of a region’s economy is viewed as the ability to recover, continue a long-term development trend, and keep the potential for adaptation and structural changes. The research methodology consists of regional economics and management theories, and the theory of shocks. The research methods include regression analysis and time series analysis (the Hurst exponent, the Hodrick–Prescott filter). The empirical base is open data for single-industry regions. The study reveals that single-industry regions differ in shock robustness; there are regions with high susceptibility to foreign trade changes and industrial production volatility (with high foreign trade intensity – Sverdlovsk, Vologda, Chelyabinsk oblasts and Krasnoyarsk Krai) and regions with limited structural adaptation reserves (with low foreign trade intensity – Lipetsk and Murmansk oblasts) that require the adoption of problem-oriented managerial decisions. We systematize strategic avenues for single-industry regions vulnerable to external shocks, namely enhancing diversification and improving the sectoral structure of the economy and exports. The study adds to the understanding of industrial regions’ problem areas and government support measures facilitating their adaptation to instability.","PeriodicalId":517949,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets","volume":"21 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140510151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the mechanisms for introducing such systems have not yet been comprehensively developed in relevant theoretical and empirical works. The article examines the ERP systems market in Russia, compares their benefits and drawbacks and delves into the details of implementing such systems in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The process approach to describing the stages of ERP system implementation constitutes the methodological basis of the research. The study has a quantitative design; the empirical data were obtained from 103 respondents in the period between June–October 2023, as well as from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) for 2016–2021. We have found that 1C Company can boast the most advantageous position in the Russian ERP systems market for small and medium-sized businesses. The comparative analysis of the leading Russian ERP solutions confirms that 1C ERP is the most adequate product for SMEs in terms of its functionality, price, and speed of implementation. Resultantly, we have proposed an integrated model of ERP system for SMEs that can be adopted in a fast and effective manner, which is critically important for this sector of the economy. The approach can also be seen as guidelines to implementing an ERP system in small and medium-sized enterprises. The research findings highlight the importance of SMEs digital transformation through ERP systems.","PeriodicalId":517949,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets","volume":"47 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140509668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper discusses the theoretical and methodological fundamentals of sections on spatial development included in the socio-economic development strategies of the RF subjects (using the case of the Ural Federal District (UrFO)). The study rests on the theories of strategic management, as well as regional and municipal management. The research data are obtained from regulatory documents and strategies for the socio-economic development of the UrFO subjects. Qualitative analysis methods were used. We reveal the structural specificity, goals, indicators and measures covered in the sections on spatial development. Despite the existence of the methodological recommendations, each RF subject tends to establish the structure of the ‘spatial’ section based on regional priorities and characteristics. The article reports on the most successful practices of spatial planning in terms of agglomerations and clusters, placement of industrial and social facilities, infrastructure, including the functional zoning of territory, identification of the promising areas of the region’s existing and emerging economic centers’ specialization, etc. Based on the research findings, we recommend to more actively use zoning by the level of socio-economic development, pinpoint promising growth points relating them to the current strategic projects, and develop target indicators more accurately considering the dynamics of population settlement, location of production and infrastructure development.","PeriodicalId":517949,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets","volume":"4 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140509867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To optimize management processes in such a complex and multi-level sector, specific economic-mathematical models and practical tools have to be developed. The paper discusses the optimal architecture of the regional industrial complex management model on a modern theoretical-methodological and instrumental (program) basis. The classical management theory, optimization theory and game theory constitute the methodology of this study. Among the research methods applied are agent-based and minimax approaches. We substantiate the use of agent-based modelling to simulate administering the regional industrial complex. The paper presents a three-tiered management architecture consisting of federal, regional and company level authorities (united by type of activity). For each level, control agents are identified and a set of indicators formed, which cover the structure of the phase vector, including its attributes, key parameters, control actions used, risks, a model of the parameters’ dynamics, and a model of the data possessed by the object. We build a hierarchical structure of administration and information relationships in the model and, based on the minimax approach, create an algorithm of agents’ efforts to select optimal control actions. The proposed architecture will allow forming a flexible toolkit for assessing industrial development scenarios and producing the best step-by-step management pattern of the regional industrial complex.","PeriodicalId":517949,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets","volume":"7 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140509153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Multimodal business analytics is a new methodology combining the methods of classical business analysis with big data technologies, intelligent business analytics, multimodal data fusion, artificial neural networks and deep machine learning. The purpose of the study is to determine the conceptual foundations of the phenomenon of multimodal business analytics and substantiate the prospects for its use in economic science and practice. Methodologically, the study rests on the systems approach, i.e., multimodal business analytics is examined as a unique integrated phenomenon comprised of several interrelated components. The evidence base covers research studies of 2000–2022 on multimodal business analytics from Scopus and the Russian online database eLibrary.ru. Empirical methods were used to collect and evaluate the dynamics of the number of relevant publications and their segmentation by subject areas. We have proposed own thesaurus and ontology of the key terms that make up the phenomenon of multimodal business analytics.
