When fluid gets into the pores, corrosion processes begin and thereby reduce the protective properties of thermal sprayed coating. The application of impregnating compounds makes it possible to seal open porosity and prevent the penetration of aggressive environments into the metal under the coating, thereby increasing the barrier properties of the coating. Epoxy polymer materials demonstrate high corrosion resistance and are widely used in the oil industry to protect pipeline elements and submersible oilfield equipment during operation. The second part of the article presents both traditional polymer impregnation materials and new compositions with magnetic nanoparticles and nanocarbon fillers (fullerenes, graphene and nanotubes) which, due to the created magnetic field, are evenly distributed throughout the polymer matrix and increase the crack resistance of the matrix. Polymer impregnating materials of both domestic and foreign production based on phenolic, epoxy, acrylic and urethane resins, modes of their application, conditions of their operation and temperature restrictions are considered. The possibility of using existing independent anti-corrosion polymer coatings as an impregnation of metallization thermal sprayed layers is discussed. Their advantages and disadvantages are highlighted. Examples of self-healing polymer matrices are given that are capable of recognizing the onset of corrosion processes and responding by releasing appropriate effective self-healing agents. The possibility of adding inhibitors to the polymer matrix is described, which helps to increase the anti-corrosion properties of the coating and thereby increase the time between failures of equipment. The issue of normative regulation of the use of impregnating compositions in various fields of industry is covered. The main directions of research that need to be carried out to solve the problem of using polymer materials as the most promising impregnating compositions for anti-corrosion thermal sprayed coatings of submersible oilfield equipment have been identified. First of all, it is necessary to reduce the viscosity of polymer resins to increase their penetration into open pores.","PeriodicalId":515328,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Engineering","volume":"4 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141845258","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the world's companies actively use them and are guided by the results obtained as a result of their construction and calculations on them. At the same time, the value of creating integrated models of oil fields at a late stage of development among specialists in various fields raises many questions and doubts. In the work performed, an integrated model is understood as a combination of three models into a single calculation system: a geological and dynamic model of the field, models of all wells and a model of the surface development network. The latter includes both a production and transportation system and a system for injecting formation stimulation agents. Opinions differ on the need and feasibility of creating integrated models, since there are no statistics on their widespread use and the benefits obtained from this in the form of additional oil production or cost savings.This article shows the results of creating an integrated model of a large N oil field, which has been in operation for more than 60 years and is at a late stage of development. The work was carried out on the domestic software complex, during which the parameters of the initial information and factors affecting the quality of creating an integrated model were determined. When creating an integrated model, information about the real position of pipelines, their dimensional characteristics, as well as the reliability of measurements of wellhead pressures and volumes of pumped fluid are important. As a result of the construction and adaptation, the possibilities of practical application of the integrated model were determined, such as determining the state of pipelines and identifying bottlenecks in them. In the process of work, the database of various services is synchronized. In practice, the narrow section of the oil pipeline identified on the model was replaced, and additional oil production from the section was obtained. Thus, the value of creating an integrated model in the form of the actual result of its application in order to increase oil production is shown.","PeriodicalId":515328,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Engineering","volume":"78 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141715032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technology under consideration, the key element of which is a liquid-gas ejector (LGE), makes it possible to achieve this level with minimal investment, in the shortest possible time and to stop flaring APG at flares remote from the central oil and gas treatment facilities of oil and gas production facilities. LGEs have a relatively simple and reliable design due to the absence of moving elements.At present, there are known LGEs of classical designs, in which the level of hydrodynamic losses can reach 40–60 %. High hydrodynamic losses make it inexpedient to use such ejectors at small fields operated at a late stage of development, remote from the central oil and gas treatment facilities, due to the limitations of the existing equipment complex and the allowed operation mode of the injection well stock. To ensure the possibility of including LGE in the RPM system it was required to develop a new design of LGE, allowing to reduce hydrodynamic losses up to 30 %, as well as to ensure the maximum possible percentage of APG utilization. The article is devoted to the development, calculation of geometry and operating mode of LGE using numerical modeling in ANSYS environment.Modeling of the flowing part of the main elements of LGE (confuser nozzle, diffuser throat and gas channel width) at different values of parameters directly affecting the level of hydraulic losses is carried out. The results of calculations of numerical simulation of LGE allowed to optimize the dimensions of the internal geometry of LGE, thus it was possible to develop a new device for the required initial data, which will reduce the level of hydraulic losses up to 30 % and ensure the involvement of the maximum volume of gas in the RPM system.","PeriodicalId":515328,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Engineering","volume":"22 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141704182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A 73х73 tubing nozzle made of 38G2SFA steel was selected as the material for research. The tubing fragment was destroyed during production well operation. To establish the reasons for the failure of the tubing nozzle, a visual inspection was carried out, tests were performed to assess the hardness and mechanical properties, the microstructure and microtexture of the metal were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods. To analyze the nature of the distribution of introduced defects, the mutual orientation of structural components and crystallographic texture, studies were carried out by the method electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). Studies of the suspended branch pipe, which does not have chemical protection, showed that the cause of its destruction was hydrogen sulfide stress corrosion cracking (SSCC) as a result of hydrogen embrittlement and the action of external tensile forces exceeding the yield strength of the metal. It was established that as a result of the interaction of hydrogen sulfide of the distilled product with the metal of the branch pipe, hydrogen embrittlement of the material of the branch pipe occurred. The process of hydrogen embrittlement of the fragment was proved by detecting hydrogen blisters in the metal microstructure and establishing the process of coalescence of neighboring inclusions. In addition, the results of the test to measure the hardness of the metal along the wall thickness further supported the hypothesis of hydrogen embrittlement of the tubing. EBSD analysis showed that the threaded part of the branch pipe is characterized by a small size of structural elements and an increased density of introduced defects (geometrically necessary dislocations), which are a promising site for the deposition of molecular hydrogen. It is concluded that reaching the limit concentration of molecular hydrogen reduces the binding energy of metal atoms and this process initiates the formation of pores. It has been established that the development of cracks along large-angle grain boundaries is facilitated, and small-angle and coincidence site lattice (Σ3, Σ5, Σ11 and Σ13b) grain boundaries are active barriers to crack propagation. It has been shown that by optimizing the elemental composition of steel, controlling the microstructure, crystallographic texture, as well as the type and state of grain boundaries, new pipeline steels can be produced that are more resistant to SSCC.","PeriodicalId":515328,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Engineering","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141703379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach is based on analyzing the ratio of flow rates for each phase and the ratio between average reservoir pressure and saturation pressure. The algorithm takes into account the possibility of oil degassing when saturation pressure decreases, as well as gas breakthrough of gas caps to the bottoms of producing wells.Implementation of the method is based on a unified thermodynamic model of multilayer reservoir, built on the principles of a single set of HC mixture components and uniform parameters of the equation of state on a set of fluid samples for all modeling stages: reservoir model, model of the gathering system and site facilities. In addition to steady-state flow calculations performed together with reservoir modeling, the unified model is planned to be used for dynamic flow calculations in the corresponding simulator (well start/stop), which will allow solving production problems in the process of operation of wells with complex completions.The conversion algorithm is automated using modern high-level tools: Python and data automation components from MS Excel, which eliminates the need for manual data input at all stages and makes it possible to obtain the estimated component composition of produced fluid for any set of wells and for any time step within the forecasting horizon.The obtained compositions are used to verify the reproduction of the main controlled parameters (oil density and gas oil ratio) and can be used for subsequent calculations of fluid transportation and treatment systems.The implemented algorithm has been tested for stability at different ratios of gas and oil flow rates by wells and meets the practical requirements of engineering calculations — the error of oil density is not higher than 2 % and gas factor is not higher than 10 %.","PeriodicalId":515328,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Engineering","volume":"27 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141690161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The geological and technical conditions of the Metelinskoye field are summarized, and the factors complicating well killing before routine and workover are described - reduced reservoir pressure during operation, previous large-volume salt-acid treatments, and the presence of hydrogen sulfide.The article substantiates the choice of invert-emulsion solutions (IER) for killing wells in the Metelinskoye field, taking into account the experience of using various killing technologies in the Volga-Ural oil and gas province. The authors have determined the physicochemical and rheological characteristics of kill compositions based on IER of various densities. An increase in the effective viscosity at high shear rates and the limit shear stress of the IER with an increase in the density of the composition was revealed. Taking into account the high risks of gas breakthrough during well killing in the Metelinskoye field, studies were also conducted to assess the gas-retaining capacity of the IER on an experimental installation by extruding the composition from a metal capillary. It has been shown that the gas holding capacity of these compositions with increasing density is described by an equation with a power function and a high degree of reliability. The effect of hydrogen sulfide neutralizer addition on IER properties was investigated. In order to increase the success of killing, the IER-based killing technology was selected and adapted to the existing conditions. The better blocking ability of higher density formulations has been confirmed. Successful well tests. To reduce the risks of using the IER and optimize the consumption of reagents during the further use of the technology, organizational and technical measures for killing and subsequent repair of wells were developed and implemented. The results of this work can be used in wells of the Ural-Volga region, Eastern Siberia and Timan-Pechora province with the presence of losses and a high gas factor, the repair of which is complicated by the lack of fluid circulation and the presence of excess pressure at the wellhead with signs of gas shows.","PeriodicalId":515328,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Engineering","volume":"66 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141710083","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motorova","doi":"10.17122/ngdelo-2024-2-107-119","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17122/ngdelo-2024-2-107-119","url":null,"abstract":"Watering of production wells is an important factor leading to a decrease in production profitability and an increase in costs. There are several main mechanisms of excess water inflow. These are a leak in the production casing; a violation of contact between the production casing and the rock; a formation of a bottom water cone; a raising the WOC surface to the perforation interval; a breakthrough through a layer with high permeability. Mechanisms can complement each other, forming a complex integrated system. To identify them, there are three groups of diagnostic methods — geophysical research, hydrodynamic well testing and plot analytical studies. Each of these fundamentally different groups can be supplemented by field research. Specifically in this work, we considered the latter. The analysis is carried out using the example of wells in one of the deposits of an oil field of the Arkhangelsk region. In which the causes of unwanted water production have already been studied by other methods and can be considered known. The studied reservoir is massive, with carbonate hydrophobic rocks and the reserves of the entire field are predominantly concentrated in it (97 %); the oil field (in terms of reserves) is small. There are no injection wells, operation is carried out in a natural elastic water drive mode. In the article, in total, three plot analytical methods are analyzed, which are among the main ones and have different application algorithms. Both the physical principles of their application and their effectiveness in relation to specific oil field are considered. These are the methods of K. Chan; L.I. Merkulova and A.A. Ginzburg; R. Novotny. The first studies the dependence of the water-oil ratio and its derivative on time (WOR and WOR’(t)), is the most widely known and has a large number of modifications (however, here they are not considered in detail). The second is based on the study of the so-called «water-cut characteristics» (representing the dependence of the accumulated oil production vs accumulated liquid production during the water period of operation). It has more restrictions, but is also more comprehensive. The third is based on a comparison of the permeability properties of reservoirs that change during operation.","PeriodicalId":515328,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Engineering","volume":"78 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141015950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The principal boundaries of the search for analogous objects confined to various stratigraphic systems have been established through a comprehensive analysis of geological and commercial data. The significant influence of tectonic confinement on the formation of the features of the geological structure of deposits and their distribution in the axes of canonical discriminant functions is shown. The presence of uncertainty in the separation of objects using the tectonic factor is explained by the similarity of objects in the marginal zones of adjacent tectonic elements in both terrigenous and carbonate reservoirs, which in turn must be taken into account when implementing key aspects of field development design. During the simulation, a certain similarity of individual deposits in the carbonate reservoirs of the carboniferous system was established, confined not only to various tectonic elements, but also to various stratigraphic complexes, which makes it possible to expand the search for analogous objects and the possibility of solving various development management tasks in conditions of deterioration of the structure of oil reserves and low technical and technological indicators of well operation. When using pattern recognition methods, in particular, discriminant analysis, dependencies were obtained that make it possible to successfully adapt the accumulated experience of developing an object to other objects while maintaining a high level of compliance with the logical aspects of hydrodynamics and physics of reservoir systems. Further development of the algorithm presented in the work lies in the plane of using a minimum number of parameters for analysis, ensuring a high percentage of separation of objects, taking into account the heterogeneity of their values.","PeriodicalId":515328,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Engineering","volume":"8 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141014672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most effective way to protect the outer surface of oilfield equipment is the use of metallization thermal sprayed coatings, and therefore the application of thermal spraying technology is becoming more and more in demand.However, the formation of a coating structure from many particles of molten material, due to their spraying, incomplete melting and loose packaging, leads to the formation of porosity, and porosity is one of the main disadvantages of thermal sprayed coatings. To eliminate this disadvantage, it is possible to use impregnation of porous coatings with various compositions, in which case the coating becomes composite. Depending on the operating environment, temperature conditions and operating conditions, metal, organic and inorganic impregnating compositions are used,but their use in the oil environment has been little studied, therefore the development of composite impregnated coatings is relevant for the protection of submersible oilfield equipment. The article highlights the influence of technological modes of its application on the porosity of thermal sprayed coating and the quality of substrate surface preparation. The main methods of sealing the porosity of thermal sprayed coatings by impregnation are described. The mechanism of impregnation (infiltration) of porous coatings, used methods of application and their classification are described, the determining role of wetting the coating with an impregnating material is emphasized. The effect of the rough surface of a thermal sprayed coating is shown, which consists in enhancing the wetting properties of the impregnating composition, the influence of roughness on the formation of adhesive bonds between the coating and the impregnating composition.The review presents traditional impregnating materials used in industry and their application modes.The application of metal and non-polymer inorganic impregnating compounds, represented mainly by salts of inorganic acids (nitrates, phosphates, silicates), is described.
